I decided to try their special due to their new chef. After driving by it and remembering the bad taste it left in my mouth, I finally gave it a go and I am glad I did! The new chef is great! Hes very nice and seems to love what hes doing, and the pizza, the pizza is great! I would have paid twice what I did for it. The crust was perfect, the sauce was spot on, the pepperoni on it was the nice big rounds thinly sliced and perfectly cooked without making it crunchy. I recommend you give it a try! I will definitely be stopping by again.

Awesome place! There is a new owner which has really changed the place to 5 stars! The new name is «Johnny’s Mia Roma». The owner Johnny and his staff are really inviting and the pizza and salad is on point! Go and try it out.

This was the worst pizza I’ve had in the area by far. My fiancé and I were having a beer and pizza night and wanted to try a new pizza place. We thought the wood fired pizza sounded good… but boy was it not! The crust was ok, but the pizza itself was so greasy! I had one slice and couldn’t eat any more in fear I was going to be sick. We will definately NOT try this place again.

It wasn’t a bad pizza, but mostly tasted like something I get from your average delivery place. The crust and topping were only ok, and not too diverse. I like unique toppings on my pizza, and this is more of a pepperoni and cheese type of place.

Boston makes the best pizzas! They’re awesome, hard to decide which one to get.

I usually order pizza at Pagliaccis, and tonight I decided to try something new. A quick google search led me to Boston Wood Fired Pizza, just a few blocks away from me. Perfect, I think. Problems right away that should have tipped me off: When I asked if they delivered, they told me they’d have to call a guy in to deliver it special for me(I offered to pick it up instead). When I asked if they did calzones, rather than say«No,» they offered to fold a pizza in half for me. When I asked if they could put bacon on my pizza, he had to go and check, and then told me it wasn’t on the menu, but okay. I asked when I should come in for it and the guy told me about 20 – 25 mins. I get there a half hour later and immediately regret it. It’s a single guy, alone. There are stacks of magazines on the counter. The sliding window Coke machine is empty and looks like it hasn’t been plugged in in ages. There’s a computer set up in the customer waiting area. The place has the look that somebody’s squatting there. Meanwhile my pizza is nowhere near ready. It’s in the wood oven, but the temperature reader is only reading 350(any other wood fired pizza place I’ve been to has their oven at around 750 – 800 degrees). No word of apology or explanation. I sit down for fifteen minutes, eventually get tired of waiting, tell him I’ll be waiting in my car when it’s done. Now I’m watching from my car as this guy goes and takes my pizza out of the oven to check it every minute for the next fifteen minutes, which I’m pretty sure isn’t helping its temperature. Also of note: the entire half hour I’m there, nobody comes into the store. Nobody calls. It’s 7pm on a Thursday and I am this guy’s only customer.(Probably why the wood oven wasn’t stoked.) Finally, an hour after I’d ordered, he brings out my pizza and I take it home. It’s inedible. He didn’t bother to pre-cook or pat down the bacon beforehand, just put it on raw, so the pie has absorbed the grease and is slick with it. Worse, because the pie is now soaking wet with grease, and because he’s been sliding it in and out of the oven for forty minutes, the bottom of the pie is thick, sludgy and grey with collected ash. He used my pizza as a scouring pad on his oven for an hour. Also, an overpowering oregano taste. I noticed an award in the place from 2006, so evidently it used to be a heck of a pizza place, but I’d argue it’s fallen on hard times. I paid $ 25 for a large pizza I waited an hour for, then had to throw the inedible mess out. STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACELIKEITWASONFIRE.

Wow. Where do I start… I have been a customer of BWFP for a few years, but hadn’t ordered in a while. I gave them a chance tonight, and here is my experience: –Pizza delivered 45 minutes late. No apology, no acknowledgement of the fact that they were late. When I called, she could not have cared less. –They brought the wrong pizza, and it was COLD! Who really wants shrimp, pine nuts, and broccoli on pizza? Not me! I ordered a totally different pizza. And here is the best part, when I called to tell them they sent the wrong pizza I was told it would be at least another hour. When I said I didn’t want to pay for it, as it was not what I ordered, she says that if I want to drive the pizza back she will give me my money!!! AREYOUKIDDING??? Pretty rare that such horrible customer service is experienced these days. I am pretty sure the ownership has changed hands in the last year, and that would explain the dramatic shift in the way they treat customers. I predict they are out of business in a year. Fortunately, there are plenty of good reliable places that appreciate customers. Off the list for good, I will never order from them again.

Ordered«The Patriot» on 12-1-2011 and got nasty food poisoning. My husband and I both ate a few slices, and later that night got to take a trip to the urgent care for fluids and antiemetics. Be careful !! It’s two days later and I can barely lift my toothbrush.

Better than pagliacci, but slow… They use apple wood for their oven and the taste is damn good. Via Tribunali is still the best pizza in seattle.

Pizza night that almost wasn’t… We drove back from Spokane last night and were starving when we got back into town. This city is so lame when it comes to late dining options so we opted to swing by BWFP on a whim, hoping they were still open at 9:50pm. Just a word of caution, even though their sign says they close at 10pm don’t come here at 9:50pm if the younger woman is working because she WILL turn you away with some sort of excuse like, oh we’ve already closed our till… However the older woman and man were quite accomodating and they re-lit their oven hot enought to cook us one helluva delicious pizza. We got a half brookline and half greek row large which came to $ 25.08… Amazing crust, and heavy toppings. The meat half was VERRY meat intensive with fresh toppings, the pizza sauce was tangy with zip. The pepperoni was actually spicy, almost spicy enough for me without my necessary red pepper flakes. I only negated one star because we were nearly turned away and first impressions are everything. P. s. This is a take out facility and they also have free delivery.

Good, but spendy! This is probably some of the best pizza you can get on the east side. It’s authentic and you get what you pay for. Service is not fast, but again, it’s all about taste here! DO: Get a meaty pizza or any of the classics. DON’T: Get the frilly pizza, they don’t fare so well in taste.

Best pizza I’ve ever had on the east side. I always pick up my pizza instead of having it delivered just to watch it come out of the wood-fueled brick oven… and usually have at least one slice on the drive home.

Me: East Coast Native desperately seeks anything resembling New York style pizza after over five long years of standards lowering desperation in the Pacific Northwest. You: Dark haired, glasses, nerdy, driven, supple… wrong ad. *cough* Proper pizzeria. I had a bit of buyer’s remorse after accidentally passing it up and finally entering the table-less shop. Call me old fashioned from NJ, but generally, when I do not see a surly Italian man anywhere behind the counter, I assume the worst. More on that later, after my order of a Boston Strangler(~$ 10 for the 10″), a variant/interpretation with a fresh ginger and chili sauce base, spicy chicken breast and green onions. BWFP, as they abbreviate themselves in their own online menu, would seem to have an advertising problem. I first thought there were no reviews and I’d never heard of it because it was brand new, but further research indicates they have been slinging dough for years. However, the 30 minute wait for a takeout pizza, somewhat disappointing but relayed presently and impressively accurate within a minute or so from the quoted time, would disagree and indicate that they are at or above capacity. Another sign of both the frenetic energy and the source of aforementioned remorse was the discussion about the making of my pizza since the main cook was directing another presumably inexperienced employee in what sounded like an amateur gangbang rehearsal: «not all together,» «way too big,» «get the chili sauce» etc. However, despite the less-than-perfect omens, the pizza itself was a pleasant surprise. While it didn’t pass the fold test and the dough to sauce ratio was a bit too high, it was chewy, doughy, only slightly spicy(as expected) and I blinked and realized I’d eaten half the pie and the other half survived the critical microwave test the next morning. Especially with the 20% discount afforded by the Prime Card and proper planning(calling ahead), the next time nostalgia overcomes my better judgment of just sticking with Asian food, I will be back to Boston… Wood Fired Pizza, even if it’s not exactly what I would expect and they would likely be struggling to survive in their namesake city.
