We are here for the home and garden show. I’m really impressed with the displays and the suppliers for my home. I’m not a fan of companies who hire sub contractors. I like a company who has it’s own employees. Check out lifetime Windows and doors. Great company great people and they do great work! :-)

My review is for the DC Fair specifically. My family attended last night 7÷31÷14 for my son’s birthday. It was kids free day. We are a family of 5, 1 child was not charged the normal $ 7, the other two are too young(under 5) so they were free anyway. We payed $ 24 dollars for my husband and I to enter the fair. Okay a touch high, but okay. We walked around for a few minutes, and then our 6 year old wanted to go on rides. Tickets are $.50EACH. ALL of the«kiddie» rides were 8 tickets per kid/per ride. So, if our 3 kids wanted to go on 1 ride, it cost us $ 12. Let me repeat that. If our 3 kids wanted to go on 1 ride, we had to pay $ 12. Let me out that into perspective for you. I have to work 1.84 hours(after taxes) to earn enough money to pay for one ride for the 3 kids. Our 6 yr old rode 2 rides, one 3 year old rode 2, and the other 3 yr old rode 1. We payed $ 24. We basically reached our budget with in 10 minutes of getting to the Fair Ground admissions office. We had no money left to buy concessions or support the vendors who were there. And by the way, they have to pay to be there. We have attend every year for the past 5 years, and I do not recall suck a «sticker shock» at past years. My husband and I are still very disappointed, and our 6 year old was crushed that for his birthday he could only go on 2 rides. Okay, go ahead and argue«there is the discounted ticket day» or «come on Sunday’s when you get unlimited rides when you get an arm band». I counter that with: «I am glad that there are other promotions, but we went Thursday for a reason(irrelevant to you or the argument) and if another day/promotion was an option we would have gone. But that is not the point of this review. My point is WAYTOOEXPENSIVE for a family of 5 on a strict budget. Now in this economy, how is this event family friendly?
