Don is just wonderful… honest, ethical, reliable, a great communicator, friendly, etc. While it’s always a bummer when our car needs repair, it would be far worse if he weren’t there.
As someone who is not particularly car savvy, it’s most important to me to work with a shop I feel I can trust. Don makes Harvey’s that place for us. We’ve been lucky enough to have him in our corner for over 6 years!

Don is the man. I came to Sears to check out my battery (was dead the night before) since I originally bought the battery there less than 3 years. The warranty was 36 months according to my receipt. Sears told me the battery was good and my alternator was bad. The cost to get a new alternator & belt was approximately $ 500. I called Don and he said he could do it for about $ 390 or better. Don tested the car next day and the alternator & belt was O.K. My battery was bad… He charged $ 115 to install a new Interstate battery. What is a honest shop. You can’t ask for anything better than this. I have been coming here for the past 10 years whenever I have issues with my vehicle.

I just moved here from il and my starter went out in my truck i called they were able to get it right in and even worked on it on sunday and also saved me about 300 i am very happy with the work that was done will def be back

I had my car in for suspension work. I drove away after the work was completed and had severe thunking coming from the passenger side. I came back 10 minutes later, pointed out that the connection to the strut didn’t look proper to the mechanic who had done the work. He then told me I was wrong and that the driver side was the side that was incorrect. I was then told they were too busy to look at it and would have to reschedule for next week.
I’d rather not drive it if it’d cause more damage or be unsafe, but was told I couldn’t leave it there until they get a chance to get it on the lift.
Knowing my wife would kill me if she couldn’t use the car for a week, I carefully drove home, stopping by shucks to borrow a spring compressor. After jacking it up, it was clear what the problem was — they forgot a critical washer on the passenger side strut assembly, effectively putting the entire force of the strut piston on a little nut that was tearing apart the new rubber bushings that they just replaced. I’m not a mechanic, but it was easy to see the problem.
I ended up being out time, money, and effort. When I called back to cancel the appointment, Don didn’t offer to reimburse the now damaged parts or labor, but did offer to comp me a future oil change. I’m not going to bother going back.
On the plus side, if the work was done properly, they weren’t overpriced, and did a good job of managing communications about when it’d be done.

First time we took our van to this shop — and definitely the last. I’ve read the good reviews so decided to go with them since the location is close to my work. Oh how I wish I’d never gone near the place! There was some issue with the front cv axle (it gave a clicking sound every time I turned the wheel) and was told it’s an easy fix. After a few days we went to pick up the van. Well, it was WAY worse than when I took it in. The alignment was so off, I kept pulling the steering wheel so as not to steer off the road. The sound was still there. So we took it back. This time it was in the shop for a week (I’m serious… one week), they promised to call back by Saturday — nobody ever called. I tried to reach them but could only speak to a lady with very limited English. So as I needed the car and obviously was fuming, I went to pick it up the week after and took it to Honda. Turns out these guys didn’t diagnose the problem properly and they did not finish the job. We’re out $ 1400 for nothing. Worst service shop I’ve ever had experience with. Absolutely do not recommend — stay away from them.

I’ve been coming here for the past 3 years. Each time they have been professional and honest about my car. Breaks, oil changes, tires, timing belts and helping me pop the dent out that I did by kissing the pole when backing out.
Don is courteous, professional and never in foul mood even on a crazy hectic day. I love the fact that I can drop my car off and pick it up the same day and Don Wont start anything until he has my o. k even explaining that my bat mobile Toyota Camry is not going to die.
Harvey’s auto has saved me a few hundred over the past few years along with a few friends who I have referred. One friend saved over $ 300 on breaks by not having the dealership do it.

Don is The Best. He goes out of his way to save you money and does great, quick, quality work. I can’t recommend him highly enough!

I agree with the other Unilocalers — Don IS the best! His service is exceptional and great knowledge. Harvey’s backs it up with quality work. I have been taking all my cars to a local, highly rated shop for years. I received skeptical information on my cars, but I accepted it because of faith in the company. After my daughter’s car had to have 2 timing belts, 2 thermostats, radiator fan, 1 battery, and an overheated car in Snoqualmie Pass and the problem was still not solved — that was the final straw. One trip to Harveys and the original problems — alternator and head gaskets — were fixed and the car drives like a dream.
Prices are competitive, even for downtown Redmond. The only negative is that there is NO parking there.

Have been coming to Harvey ’ for a little over a year. Don and his staff are Awesome. I had a problem with my car, and somehow they manage to get it repaired on the same day. They always treat me with respect, and I never leave with the feeling that «I was taken advantage of». Harvey’ does my oil changes and anything else I may need for my 2002 Outback!!!

I wanted to get the brake rotors changed on my car but didn’t want to go to the dealership because they charged a huge premium for a simple enough job. After reading reviews on Unilocal,Harvey’s seemed like the place to go. Don is a great guy and he accommodated my requests and customizations. But I don’t trust the guy who handled the job. I think his name was Kevin if I remember correctly. He was always very rude and never gave straight answers.
Ultimately, I got the job done and was happy, but not for long. Two days later I noticed some damage behind the front bumper cover. When I looked underneath the car, the whole bumper cover was severely damaged from the lower inside and the engine protective covering (skid plate?) was completely missing. So I went back and talked to Kevin since Don was off that day. As usual the guy didn’t give any straight answers and plainly denied that he did the damage. I went back another day to talk to Don and he also tried to convince me that I might have hit a speed-​bump which could have caused this. But I didn’t, it had been only two days and I remembered clearly where I took the car. I told him that I would have at least seen the skid plate coming out. I couldn’t have missed that. He had nothing to say but maintained that it didn’t happen in his shop. Searching on the web, seems like it might not be uncommon of a novice mechanic to take those plates off and deem them unnecessary.
The body shop gave a huge estimate to fix it mainly because the bumper cover needs to be replaced due to irreparable damages. I guess I should have taken the dealership route in the first place and avoided going to Harvey’s altogether.

Had my car in for some semi-​major work. While doing the initial diagnostics, Don identified some other things that would definitely cost me more down the road than doing them now. After adding them to the list, Don managed to wring the bill down to something reasonable and returned my car in great condition.
Harvey’s is the only place that will get my business now.

New to town and found these guys with a great 5 star rating — what could go wrong? Dropped my car off and spend 2 days calling back asking for an estimate because they never called me back. These guys couldn’t change two tires in 4 days and wanted to charge 600 to replace two brake rotors and pads on a sentra. I got so frustrated that I paid the diagnostic fees and took my business somewhere else. Did not get the same great service other customers describe.

I have been coming to Harveys for years. Donny is the man to see. He will always help. He is great about making sure you take care of the things that are most needed and not afraid to tell you about the things that can wait. They are priced good and get work done in a timely manner. Definetely the best shop in town!

Don is a great guy. Had an old bronco with high mileage and he took care of me!

We were in Redmond for the weekend over the summer for a soccer tournament and to watch our first Sounders game. Our brakes started making a horrendous noise and we were worried about driving it back to Spokane. We called last minute and were told they were backed up but we explained our situation and Don squeezed us in and put multiple guys on our vehicle so we could get to the Sounders game in time. I appreciate Don’s incredible customer service, honesty and the prices are more than fair! I just wish I could find a place like this in Spokane! BTW we made it to the game in the knick of time! Thank you Harvey’s Auto Service!!!

Garage next to Harvey’s Garage gave me an estimate of $ 620! Don at Harvey’s did the whole job in under $ 200. He gave me detailed reasons for something which did not need any repairs thus saving me hefty amount. Harvey’s is the repair shop for me

I went there the first time due to positive reviews. Another local shop told me my engine was probably trash and I’d need to get a new one. Harvey’s told me «That’s not likely» and when they checked it out they were able to get it running again for a very decent price. Took it back for brakes, very happy with that work and price. Taking it back tonight for the 60k mile maintenance.

NOTE: for some reason this had initially posted in the Harvey’s Auto Bellevue location. All my repairs are done at Harvey’s Auto in Redmond, so I am reposting here. I wrote this in 2008 and still believe this is the best mechanic shop I’ve ever experienced.
Harvey’s Auto is my preferred service station. I’ve been taking my last three vehicles there for services ranging from oil changes to brake pads and shoes to various sensor repairs. When my best friend’s windshield wipers ceased working, I convinced her to meet me there and the problem (a blown fuse) was fixed within minutes. If they are unable to fix it, they will direct you to someone who can.
The fine folks at Harvey’s Auto will provide you with a list of items that they feel you should have fixed, and will prioritize them for you if need be — but they will never pressure you into having any work done that isn’t absolutely necessary. If you’re local, they will even give you a ride back to your home or office.
I’ve always gotten a great deal and great service from Harvey’s Auto. Occasionally you will see their coupons in your mail; they make a great deal even better. Unless I move away, I will always take my cars here.

First time I went was just because it was the closest place to roll into. Hit a pothole near Marymoor and heard some HORRIBLE noise under my car. It was scary! Drove about 5 MPH till I got to Harveys. So heres the thing… Im a girl… I know nothing about cars… I had no idea what was wrong. They could have WRECKED me financially and I wouldnt have known better. But nope… Don was very reassuring and so helpful. They looked underneath… pulled my wrecked plastic cover off and told me I was ok to drive without it for awhile and theyd order me a new one for $ 40!!!
And that wasnt the only time they were so good to me and so honest. Don is a fabulous communicator and they ALWAYS try to save you money! Highly recommended!
