I had to go on my lunch break, so I just phoned in an appointment which she had open. I arrived into a funky, eclectic space with too much stuff and unorganized. There was about 10 empty chairs and 1 stylist, which threw me off. For a Saturday, you’d think the place would be packed, so I just had a sinking feeling it wasn’t going to be all that great. I had to wait a few minutes while Cathy made her squirrel milk for the rescues she was expecting after my appointment, something I wish I didn’t know. I also asked where I could put my coat, and was given a smart joke about how it’s common sense that coat racks are near the door. It’s also common courtesy to assist your clients with their coats as well. As I sat down, we talked about what I wanted, which was just 2 inches taken off and trimming off the front framing. Now I don’t have a complicated hair cut, no layers in the back or anything, just long, one length hair. Since I opted for the $ 20 haircut, which was not described on the website or in person, she just began as spray me down with a spray bottle! I was extremely shocked and had she tried to up sell me to the $ 45 normal shampoo haircut, I would have. The haircut was wham bam thank you ma’am, done in 10 minutes! Didn’t even blow dry my hair dry. I left the salon with damp hair, my hair way too short,(4 inches taken off) and my facial framing that she used with a razor was crooked. She didn’t even check to see if it was even, so I had to fix my framing at home. Perhaps she has enough clients and didn’t care to get another one, because clearly after my experience, she won’t be getting any recommendations or my future business.

Kathy is amazing! I had gotten gotten my hair colored elsewhere and the lady screwed it up so bad it was awful. I had bright red hair and i wanted to add some black streaks. Simple right? Well aparently not for this girl. She turned my whole head black and left a little BURGANDY streaks in it. Needless to say NOT wut i wanted. Then she refused to fix it. So i called here and Kathy got me in same day and fixed it for me. She stayed late for me working on my hair for 4 hours to lift all the black out and put my bright red back in with a few black streaks. EXACTLY wut i wanted. My hair looks fantasticly amazing and i absolutely love it, whereas the other lady left me in tears. Unfortunately i had to pay twice to get my hair done, since the other lady still made me pay even though i was dissatisfied; so i basically threw $ 120 in the garbage there. But i was more than happy to pay Kathy anything for saving me. If ur gonna spend money on ur hair, make sure its done right the 1st time! If u dont already have a hair stylist u trust, Kathy’s ur girl!

kathi is simply awesome. met her for the first time yesterday and had a very positive experience with her. she managed to restore my faith in hair stylists/salons again after two consecutive negative experiences just down the road at the gene Juarez salon. atmosphere is friendly and upbeat, salon is very clean and attractively decorated, the stylists were all delightful and kathi is beyond wonderful. she spent almost 3 hours with me — coloring, cutting, styling my hair and the price was still significantly less than what I’ve been charged in the past. I will be going back to her — liked her, the salon and the whole ‘vibe’!

I love this hair place. Kathy has been taking care of my hair for 2 – 3 years now. I think most of her customers get more done(color, full cut, styling), but I am literally ‘just a trim’. She never tries to upsell me, get me to ‘do more’ with my hair, ‘brighten it a bit’, or ‘come in more often, these ends are terrible’. All of which I have heard from other hair dressers in Redmond. And she can cut in a straight line, which seems to be a dying art. I just made another appointment for tomorrow, and I am so happy to go to a place where I know I won’t be chastised for not having trendy hair, and that when I leave my hair will be the way I want it to be. Wow, a hair dresser who listens to her customers, yay!
