One of the best Indian buffet in Seattle area. The food is excellent and the variety is great.

Worst experience ever. Went there for lunch buffet with friends at 2:00pm. Got a table at around 2:50 pm. Have to wait for almost 50 mins. We have just adjusted ourselves on table and got appetizers from buffet to eat and they placed check on our table and told us that if we want anything just take quickly we are closing the buffet counters. They should have told us in the beginning that by the time our turn comes up it will be time to close buffet counters. Food was also not much good. Had heartburn problem for the whole day. And finally after some time they just came and asked us can we have your cards for the check. How rude is that. We were still having our food and he was like be quick. Will never go at this place again.

I love this place! They always have great service and the food is always superb! The chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan are to die for! I love the atmosphere as well! I would highly recommend this place! So much better then chaat and roll! By far!

Excellent service. Extremely kid friendly, consistently amazing food and the location is convenient– right in downtown Redmond. The weekend buffet can get quite crowded, we usually try to go before noon to beat the crowd. One of kids’ favorite places to eat :-) Our favorite is their vegetarian biriyani, paneer makhani, aloo tikki chaat and aloo kulcha.

One of the best Indian buffets I have ever had. It’s great that they have a huge variety for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The desserts are amazing too.

This place introduced me of indian lunch buffet. My husband and I were so happy with the foods. Especially, the price. It’s much cheaper to have a buffet than order from menu. We have decided that we’ll only go for buffet when we crave for indian food unless we want to have Doza or Chaat.

The food was excellent. My friend ordered paneer tika masala and potato naan. I ordered daal and butter naan. Both meals were flavorful! I would have given them 5 stars but the waiter seems pre-occupied. He continued to look away while we placed our order, then had to ask us to repeat our order at least 2 times. Aside from the distracted waiter… THEFOODWASDELICIOUS!

I’ve had takeout from here before but not had sit down table service. The place itself looks unassuming from the outside, being in a strip mall and all, but around the side once you come in there’s a big dining room. We had the malai kofta and the chicken vindaloo. Both were pretty good. The kofta sauce was creamy but not too spicy, and the vindaloo meat was tender. We also had the parathas, but they weren’t as flaky as I expected. Service was okay, it was unobtrusive for most part. The TVs in the bar area also show random Indian television shows and ads, which can be pretty entertaining. It’s a little incongruous though as the rest of the place seemed pretty fancy. Parking is available out the front.

The food at kanishka is good. def above average. The curries and rotis are really good! Ambience is decent so all that won’t disappoint you! The tricky part for us was the service and if I could give stars only for that it would be a negative five! Our order was all mixed up! We got buttered naan even though we specifically said non butter but that’s still ok! The worse was when the waiter left us for like 40 mins waiting for food! After we finished we again waited for like 20 mins! Had ordered a naan to go and turns out that was not ordered. Lol! So basically we were waiting for nothing! Finally another guy stepped in fixed things up! Our first experience here was definitely the worst! Needless to mention even if it gets five stars for food we are never coming back!

Oh, this place is gooooood. I love Indian food and this place does not disappoint. I came shortly after they opened for dinner and sat myself at the bar. The bartender/server was very attentive. I inquired about happy hour because I saw it on their website and he said they didn’t have one, but he still gave me a discounted wine. The little snackies they give before the meal are so tasty. I’m not sure what the brown and green sauces were but they were amazing and I thought about maybe stealing a jar or three. I ordered some wine, garlic naan, and vegetable jalfreki. I asked for medium hot and I actually got a rather spicy dish — I feel I don’t always get that at Indian restaurants but this time was great! I was weepy a bit because of the spice, which is exactly what I wanted. It was a little pricey($ 35 including tip) but it was very delicious with excellent service. What a great find!

Great vegetarian selection in their buffet! Variety of dishes. Their meat option is not equivalent but it is halal.

This place is hopping! Not surprising because they have one of the best Indian lunch buffets in the land of Indian lunch buffets. The variety is good, the price decent, and the quality above average. There are more vegetarian friendly dishes than meat, which suits us just fine. But they still have several meat dishes so don’t worry. All the usual suspects(tikka masala, naan, tandoori chicken, etc) plus extras you don’t usually see at most Indian lunch buffets like the pani puri, dosas, and idlis. Definitely a southern Indian bent here, which again suits us just fine. We love southern Indian. In general, the flavors were very good although we’ve had better sambar elsewhere(one of our favorite Indian dishes). We had to wait a few minutes to get a table and the place is very crowded, but they were pretty quick to bring out food. I would come back again.

We went here for dinner. The butter chicken was phenominal. The chicken just melts in your mouth. I got a spiciness 2 of 5 and that was almost too spicy. I like a little spiciness but it was a bit much. The Naan was amazing, a little smaller than I have gotten at some indian restaurants, but still delicious. My only complaint is the restaurant was uncomfortably cold.

I came here on a weekend for their lunch buffet. It was very crowded and the wait was around 20 minutes. It is nice to see a crowded buffet though because it means that the food turnover will be quick and frequent. They had some Indian-Chinese food as well as most of the staple Indian dishes. The buffet has 2 sides so you really should walk on both sides. It can get a little cramped on the back side though. Because of the crowds, parking can be a bit hit or miss but we found a spot. I’ll be back!

Sooo happy that Kanishka is still part of the Redmond scene. After being away for a while… I was so glad to see that it survived all the construction of downtown. It’s fairly new location(5 years) is bigger and better than ever. The food buffets include selections of your favorite Indian cuisine. Delish! Fresh! One of the friendliest, most professional staffs around. They keep an eye on you without being intrusive… Never an empty plate… never an empty water glass. Never have to wait for your bill. Speaking of the bill… It’s so hard to believe how inexpensive they are for an «all you can eat» buffet. BTW… The food was so inviting, I forgot to take a picture… I’ll have to the next time around! Love, love them… Not just one of the best on the Eastside. but in Seattle as well!!!

The Establishment: Kanishka is an Indian Restaurant in Redmond, WA. I am writing this review in regards to the lunch buffet in particular. I have never been to Kanishka during traditional menu hours. The Experience: The décor of Kanishka is traditional for Indian restaurants. Clean white tablecloths and extravagant red and gold accents. Very clean and very confidence inspiring. Kanishka has a full service bar with domestic and imported options, complete with Indian beer choices. The service was spectacular with my water always being full and plates taken care of. The Food: Kanishka has a diverse and well put together lunch buffet. With so many options, it’s a great place to get a feel for Indian Cuisine for your first time and try a ton of tasty, authentic dishes. I’m usually not a fan of buffets, but all food is fresh in a very clean environment. Total comfort food. Overall: Kanishka is a great place to get lunch or dinner in Redmond. The service is great, buffet spectacular and price very low for the quality. Highly recommended.

I love Indian Food. We have tried so many different Indian food restaurants in the greater Seattle area, and this is by far my favorite. The food is good quality. I have been to several restaurants where the food(meat in particular) is questionable. You wont run into that issue here. The spiciness levels you request are what you would expect. The portions are bigger, so we usually end up with leftovers for later. A lot of places will offer a lunch buffet, which is how I started to try different meals. Kanishka has the best buffet we have come across. A lot more options than your typical restaurant that are not consistently the same(except the more common dishes like Tikka Masala). This is a great way to try new options without purchasing an entire meal. We have sat down for dinner a number of times as well. All the staff has been very friendly and attentive. Food always came out in a timely manner. More often, we order takeout. They do carefully package the food so that the curry doesn’t end up all over your car. We have loved all the curries that we have had, but some things that we would recommend: Vegetable Pakora, Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Mattar Paneer, Rogan Josh, and the Vindaloo. Naan we believe is also a must. If you like mango and desserts, i would recommend the mango custard with fruit. You really cant go wrong with anything you order here. Highly recommend if you like Indian food.

Kanishka is consistently excellent. Four of us had dinner, including a vegan. SERVICE: 4.5. The young man who served us was prompt, caring, and bubbly. AMBIANCE: 4.5. Most tables full, but we still had plenty of room and the conversation volume was just right. FOOD: 4.0. — Naan(plain and spinach). Both excellent. The waiter recommended the spinach, and he was right on. — Goat curry: 4.0. medium spicy. — Lamb korma: 4.5. medium spicy. — Baingan Bharta: 4.0. medium spicy. — Chicken coconut: 4.0. medium spicy. — Dessert — mango custard with fruit: 4.5. — Dessert — Kheer: 3.5

My water was filled six times. In a thirty minute period. And this speaks for the whole establishment(in a good way). This is the finest Indian buffet west of the rockies. Save room for the mango custard, save room(up there) for the memories of this fragrant, beautiful structure, but also save room(down there) for those who don’t eat this food(though very delicious) that often, but it is so, so, so worth it. I highly recommend. I also gave a generous tip to demonstrate how far things like filling up cups of water go in my book. I’d also like to think that the owner of the restaurant will see my review and then gather the wait staff later, when it’s not so busy. Then he’ll say«wait staff, I appreciate the good work you are doing, keep up the good work». Then the wait staff all go home with a good vibe, smile, and a happy feeling, and this is good because you never know when someone needs a smile. I’ve also attached a picture of the tip I left because I’m self centered and braggy. In addition to this tip, I’ve also left a poem below. Got up from by booth With a savory tooth Don’t confuse with sweet Just eat the flavored meat It made me want to Holla When I saw the chicken tikka masala It didn’t stop there. Basmatti everywhere In my butter paneer As far as mount Rainier The mango custard paved the way For a food coma later that day Got some curry on my vest Passed out at my desk

During lunch it’s BUSY. Food was amazing. The lunch buffet is supreme quality for the price($ 10.95 per guest) Chicken is fresh and hot. Nothing seems to sit too long. They rotate guest quickly. As well as the food. The mango pudding & rice pudding was tasty. We tried it all. The chicken tikka masala was delicious & mild in spice. Was a hit with my toddler. The tandoori chicken was also delicious and well seasoned. They had honey chicken featured & that was pretty tasty but also spicy. Mint rice was another yummy side dish(my toddler got a kick out of the color being green lol) The naan was so addicting I almost couldn’t stop eating it, seriously. Buttery & fresh. Perfect to scoop up the food with :) The curry goat was good, a lot of work to chew so I gave up! If your up for the task def worth a shot. My LO enjoyed the freshly sliced oranges, so did I, they were ripe and sweet. The gentleman in the front of the restaurant kindly opens the door which was a small touch but was welcoming & noted. The restaurant is nicely decorated & clean. Even the white paper on the table doesn’t seem tacky. It’s definitely practical. The bathrooms were nice & clean, changing table wasn’t the conventional changing station of a public bathroom, more the at home version but cool non the less. We’ll be back :)
