Sapporo Teriyaki

Disappointing overall but nice place and layout. I liked the layout of the place and it was clean overall. They even had a TV available for watching. The parking is a bit crowded with Indian Microsoft Employees at times but there are reserved stalls for this establishment if needed at least.
Okay, the things I didn’t like about this place was that upon first arrival, the man behind the counter really didn’t care to make a sale. I wondered why and it seems that they cater for Microsoft as they advertise where they will be on campus and what time at the front counter. This made sense as to his non caring attitude and rudeness. He also had a nasty cough and seemed a but sick to be handling my dinner.
The food was a bit on the Meh side and so overall, I would just have to give this a 2 star meh for crappy rude service, meh food quality, pretty neat layout of dining area, attitude, and price. meh

I have been coming to Sapporo Teriyaki since the late 90s. They put something in that spicy chicken dish which causes me to crave it on a regular basis. Simply put, it’s the most addicting spicy chicken I have ever had in my life. Nothing else even comes close.

The only place for Spicy Teriyaki on the Eastside!
I always get the #20 house special which is spicy chicken with 4 pieces of the best gyoza!
There are several teriyaki places near here, but this is the only one I ever go to!

The Spicy Chicken is super duper Delicious! Staff is friendly and the service is fast.

Typical strip mall teriyaki joint. A bit dingy with cheap décor an no aesthetics. What they offer is a large menu and brown rice an option with any dish. They so have four salad dressings for your typical side of iceberg lettuce and carrots instead of just one. Or you may chose mixed veggies instead of salad. The food is good but nothing special. Basically if you work nearby then you’ll probably stop in, but no one is going to seek this place out. The restaurant seats around 30 people and fills up fast during the lunch hour. Lots of parking is available.

Hours posted are not true. Came 2 hours before their listed closing time and was denied service even though their door was wide open. 2 other people tried to come and were turned away as well in the time I was sitting in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do for dinner instead. Food sounded amazing based on other reviews but I most likely will not return. No reason to have been ‘closed’ when you have an obvious demand. Disappointed to say the least.

From the look outside it is not please to go in but when your hunger strike I walk right in. As usual i order spicy chicken teriyaki. Tase so good that I have to return. Second visit continued in 2^nd week i order same thing it was perfect. If you like spicy teriyaki you have to try this place ignore the look of the place

I was hoping for decent teriyaki and found plain bland food with small portions. Even for extra chicken and extra rice wasnt enough. Portion sizes were very very small for the price that you pay. Chicken was dry with no flavor the teriyaki was too salty. My gf ordered general tsos and it wasnt even spicy but tasted more like sweet and sour chicken. I wont be going back to this place hopefully finding decent teriyaki in bellevue is harder to find

There were a lot of things that I really didn’t like about my dining experience here, we got two dishes, the chicken and gyoza special and the Kung pao chicken. The Kung pao actually wasn’t bad, but the chicken and gyoza was awful on many levels, to begin with you do not get very much chicken, I would say half the serving size as other teriyaki places, the gyoza was cold which is weird because they are fried… And it came with streamed veggies which were also cold, 2 pieces of broccoli and 4 pieces of carrots, the meal overall was disappointing
Really didn’t like how instead of walking food out to you they place your ready dishes up front and yell for you to come and get it, while also encouraging patrons to bus their own tables, not only are you to pick up your food while your sitting and waiting but also you are supposed to bus yourselves. It just didn’t make much sense.
Nasai across the street is cheaper and will bring your food to you, will not done here again

Spicy chicken and bulgoki was good. Other dishes look interesting too. Good prices. Definte keeping on my list.

I give Sapporo five stars for one reason: the spicy chicken breast teriyaki. It’s the only dish I’ve ever ordered, and probably the only one I ever will. The chicken is tender and juicy, and the spicy sauce has quite a kick — I always need a refill on my soft drink to finish.
I’m not a fan of the salad or salad dressing (typical teriyaki joint fare, dressing is a little lacking in flavor). The steamed vegetables are OK — some days lightly steamed/​barely warm, other days hot but still firm. But I’ll let that slide — I’m there for the chicken anyway.
I’ve been there enough times now that the couple running the place know what I order (spicy breast, no rice, steamed vegetables, soft drink) before I get to the counter.
They also serve in various Microsoft cafeterias during the week, but they don’t have white meat chicken (just dark regular and spicy teriyaki), so I’ll still make the short trip to the restaurant.

My go to place for spicy food during lunch on east side. It is so good it is addictive. Order the spicy chicken

Yakisoba was good. Ramen soup was bland. Better flavor from instant noodles. I guess they are not bad. But considering the location I feel there are better options nearby.

An office favorite of ours… Get the Spicy Chicken or Spicy Chicken Breast, both are fantastic!

Not a bad place for teriyaki. It’s one of those average run-​of-​the-​mill teriyaki places that are everywhere. Their spicy chicken is pretty good, and I prefer it over their teriyaki chicken. Their gyoza aren’t bad, either, but I wouldn’t come here expecting a fancy meal. Perfect for a quick bite.

Ordered the Chicken Teriyaki to go. The rice was good, and the sauce wasn’t bad and it was ready very quickly.
It was only average compared to other places I’ve been, that’s why only three stars.

I have frequented this restaurant several times over the past year, and each time I am quite satisfied with the experience. Their bread and butter is the spicy chicken teriyaki which is just the right amount of spicy kick and tasty tender chicken. If this is your first time going there, you should definitely try it out!
I think I end up ordering that the most but I’ve also had a chance to try out their salmon teriyaki, regular teriyaki, yakisoba and their curry. All of these dishes are really excellent and the price to food ratio is very good. I always walk away stuffed and happy.
Each of their platters comes with rice (optional brown rice available) and you can choose between a side salad or steamed veggies. I am not a huge salad fan so I generally end up going for the veggies — which is nice because it’s a healthy compliment. On the few occasions that I’ve had their salad, I distinctly remember their sesame seed and italian dressing which is better than the dressings I usually get at other teriyaki restaurants.
They recently had a remodel and the place looks a light brighter and more appealing to my senses. It’s a welcome change and I also appreciate the addition of a flat screen TV that I can watch while I eat. The family that owns the restaurant is extremely cordial and have offered to change the channel to whatever I like when I’m eating there. It’s that friendly touch that helps make this place standout. I feel they are genuine and helpful — and that they appreciate my business.
Overall — I think people should give this place a shot. If you need a good teriyaki fix and you’re near Redmond, you need to check it out. The prices are very reasonable considering you’re on the eastside and that it’s nearby the Microsoft campus.
Also on busier days, I call in for take out orders and they are always prompt and have my food hot and ready when I show up!

Went here and went with the spicy chicken recommendation. Not the best, but not the worst. Seems a popular place and was fast service and correctly priced.
Haven’t been back since but likely will if I ever get out of the office for lunch again.

Let’s face it, if you’re reading this review, there’s a good chance you work for Microsoft and you’re looking for a place to grab some lunch. Maybe you’re a DigiPen student who can’t cook and needs a proper meal, but you’ve spent most of your monthly budget on video games.
Sapporo has you covered in both cases, as its price is fair and its portions are most generous. Sapporo is not a place where you go to be impressed – this is a spartan cafeteria for those mind-​warriors who lock horns with the curly-​braced menace all day long.
Rice. Gyoza. Vegetables. Chicken – spicy preferably if you’ve the stones for it. Your stomach will be filled, and your wallet won’t be empty.
The teriyaki sauce they offer is good on rice, and there’s something to the juxtaposition of a ranch-​topped salad alongside some sriracha-​coated teriyaki meat that grabs me.
While living with friends attending DigiPen in Redmond, I ate here twice a week for a year. I recently returned during Penny Arcade Expo, as I was staying on the Eastside, and it hasn’t changed a bit. I credit their continued survival to their simple, cost-​conscious approach and their location. Convenient, and definitely superior to the other teriyaki places nearby.

4 Stars only for the spicy chicken.
A co-​worker told me to check this place out as they had great spicy chicken. After stopping by twice and them being closed I finally was able to find a day when they were open. I ordered the #20 I think, spicy chicken, rice, salad and gyoza. The food came out quickly and it was hot, both good signs.
I started on the gyoza first, it was meh. It tasted like the frozen kind and was missing dipping sauce. i chocked a couple down and left the rest. The salad was iceberg lettuce and ranch, not fancy or very good overall. The main attraction was the chicken and it was fantastic. It tasted like BBQ chicken with a pound of spicy chilis mixed in. I was sweating and cursing the whole time eating it but I had to keep going.
I’m still not sure what the fasination is with these teriyaki places in Washington, I guess just cheap and quick «Japanese» food. From the couple of teriyaki places I’ve eaten at it is just that, cheap and quick but not good. Sapporo is the same as the others but they do something out of this world with that spicy chicken. I’ll be back for more of that but will pass on the other menu items.
