My daughter had a good time at this camp. This is the first camp that I have seen with ponies. Really cute. The camp she took was pretty short, about 3 hours. They did arts and crafts, Had some supervised rides. I don’t think she learned that much since she had been to a beginning class before.

My daughter took group lessons at the Horsemanship School for a school year. Although each lesson is 60 minutes, students only spend 15 minutes each lesson actually RIDING so skill progress is SLOW! The first 30 minutes of the lesson was spend grooming a tacking the horse. 5 minutes walking to the ring and waiting to mount. 5 minutes waiting for everyone to get the equipment ready, 15 minutes riding and 5 minutes to dismount and walk back to the barn. After 9 months of lessons, my daughter was just barely trotting one length of the ring on a lead line and walking the rest of the small amount of time on the horse. When I brought up the lack of «on horse time,» I was assured that the class would get faster at prepping the horses and would get more riding time. This is not materialize. If you are looking for lesson for a young child(under 7) and want a SUPER safe riding environment, this is the barn. The have boots and helmets in all sizes to borrow so you don’t have to buy your own.
