i am a 17 year patient of Dr. Armato’s… for all this time he has done my physicals, helped me with a flu or cold (i don’t often bother him) and worked diligently to «perfect my blood tests» by using lipitor and loviza. normal health stuff… so six months ago i was diagnosed with an eye condition, notified the doc, but no response. so kept on seeing eye specialist… turns out six weeks ago it was diagnosed as eye cancer… we call the doctor with my eye doctor to let him know. ask about sleeping medication .etc. but in general to let him know what is going on… he is my general practitioner … so i thought he would be interested that my perfect blood wasn’t good enough or that hey, his patient is in serious trouble… NOTHING… not one single phone call… blown away… how is this the way to handle it… i have no words…

Dr. Armato is a great physician who makes it his business to stay on top of the latest research and incorporate the results into his patient care. His focus is on proactive health care management, which I appreciate. You are not likely to work with a physician who is more rigorous about testing and committed to spending time with new patients. I do agree with some of the comments that suggest there appears to be room for improvement in management of his office. I waited far too long to see the doctor this week due a scheduling mixup in his office.

The staff: negative stars if I could…
The receptionist, (wouldn’t give me her name) IS the rudest woman I have ever met. Went four times to see the doctor, and each time, she messed up my appointment. Either didn’t write me in the appointment book correctly (yelled at me for being there on the wrong day) and I showed her the appointment card that was in her writing. Or didn’t know why I was there and couldn’t find my file. One time she left me in the waiting room for 50 minutes because she was off fighting with her coworker. Short temper, always correct, little tea sandwich of a woman.
The nurse: Christina~sour puss face. Never could she crack a smile (gosh, just pretend lady). Believe me, I tried joking with her and she began bad mouthing and gossiping about her coworkers. She said the most degrading remarks I have ever heard. She is a very unhappy woman and needs to find a new career.
Dr. Armato seems like a nice enough guy and yet he doesn’t have a clue about patient confidentiality or have any empathy. He’s a research guy! All he cares about is bragging about how many books he’s written and his research. He never knew my name, why I was there, lost my lab results twice, told me he would call me at home because he didn’t know what happened to my paper work. Still waiting for his call… That was 2 months ago. Called the office to inquire several times. Still hasn’t called me back. Doctor is always on vacation OR they don’t answer the phone. This was just my experience within a four month time frame… Crazy!

best doctor i’ve ever had. not only knowledgeable, but has great communication. He explains EVERYTHING and takes initiative. He thinks ahead and makes sure that everything is good with me. You will walk out of his office with piece of mind knowing that you have a doctor that actually gives a sh*t.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Armato for several years and feel very fortunate to have found a doctor that really monitors your health and actually spends quality time with you in answering all your questions. I hate going to doctors period, but if I have to, I don’t mind going here. There was a rough patch with his front office years ago, but he has since replaced them with the best office team I’ve ever seen in any doctors office. Judy, Daisy and the others are a efficient top notch office team and they really go out of their way to make sure going there is as enjoyable as humanly possible.

I was recommended to Dr Armato by a friend who says he spends a lot of time with his patients. I found that to be very true. He does not come in, take your pulse and ask you to breath deep and walk out. He monitors your conditions and progress on a regular basis and always has a gentle, calm demeanor. He’s what people expect from a good doctor. And he is always up-​to-​date on new medical advances and keeps his patients informed about generic meds that have replaced their brand name equivalents. Many doctors are not into details. Dr. Armato explains everything and answers every question I pose to him.

I usually don’t write reviews if it’s over 7 days since I been there. But given since I don’t visit doctor offices much, I’ll break this rule.
Dr. Armato is the man. I use to be in pharmaceutical sales and worked on all the guys in the South Bay. He is THE BEST. I heard he was also Shaq’s doctor when Shaq dominated LA.
I only go for my annuals. But when I go… I’m prepared. What do I mean by prepared… well…umm…he checks every part of your body.
Dr. A– «Tony, turn around.»…the clean germ free breeze blows across my exposed ass.
Dr. A– *snap* «Tony, I’m very thorough»
I whimper, no knowing why his head is near my ass. Maybe checking a mole?
*inserts finger into the butt*
*I clinch my teeth*
Dr. A– «Awh, I like healthy specimens!!!»
*whimpers…* am i a specimen?
Probed for the first time in my life. But I guess it’s suppose to be routine. Look no further in the South Bay for a good Internal Medicine physician. Yes, you are going to wait. Yes, it’s best to set the appointment at the VERY BEGINNING/​END of the day. Yes, the front desk isn’t so friendly. And yes, he’s THAT THOROUGH. But I rather bite the bullet and live a little longer.
Oh yes, he’s expensive too. Some things in life are better to pay a little more for.
