Erica is awesome. She’s super-cool and has consistently given me a great cut every time I’ve seen her for the past 4+ years.

Update: Robin and Erica have moved to El Segundo. Erika opened the Powder Room in El Segundo, 120 W Grand: Phone number: 310−335−6009. I am still going to Robin and my hair is getting better with every cut! Robin is a miracle worker and Erika is a creative genius as well! And I LOVE the new shop and the location; very hip and comfortable. Such a great get away for a little«me» time. I agree with Nicole M’s review. Robin is a very talented colorist and stylist. I also have thin hair and recently had health issues that made it worse. Robin not only cut and colored my hair in a way that minimized the appearance of the hair loss, she also did research and found products that helped. You just don’t get that kind of service and commitment in «fancy» salons. Speaking of the salon, it is a warm and friendly environment. I really feel like I can relax and get away from the day to day while I am there.

Christine H’s review pretty much sums it up. I actually go to Robin though so to add to her comments from that point of view… Robin is an extremely talented colorist. I have very very thin hair and she does an excellent job of masking it with color(which looks quite natural). I am a brunette and for some reason stylists always want to give me blonde streaks. Not Robin! She gives me the most gorgeous dark carmel color highlights. Her cuts are great too. When you say keep the length, she does just that. In fact every time I walk out of there my hair looks longer(but in a healthy bouncy way). They even have a great shampoo chair that is completely horizontal and doesn’t hurt your neck. The prices are great too with highlights and a trim falling into the $ 100 to $ 150 range(that will vary on your hair length and thickness I would imagine).

Wow, I love this place! I went in for a pretty serious color correction. Robin was awesome. She fixed my color, and gave me a little trim to make my hair very healthy looking. I have curly, frizzy, dry, brittle hair — but it doesn’t look like it now. Robin listened to all of my hair concerns, traumas, phobias ect., and made sure that I left as a happy customer. This place is a haven for CURLYGIRLS! A+++

Bailey Jane relocated from its original location somewhere in Hermosa to this little center a year or two ago, so I’m sure they’ve lost some business. It’s literally in the middle of the neighborhood, but that neighborhood is hiding a gem! The salon is just two ladies, Robin and Erica, and they are both really friendly. Robin owns the salon, and Erica sells handmade jewelry there as well. I’ve only gotten cuts from Erica, but I know they are expert at coloring too because a friend of mine gets cut and colors there. What I really like about them is that since the establishment is so cozy, there’s not really a rushed atmosphere like lots of high-end salons. Even when I’m waiting for them to finish up other customers or when customers are waiting on me I can see they take their time, and it’s never a big deal. Everyone is chatty and funny. The best part about going there is the pre-shampoo discussion, where I can talk thoroughly about what kind of cut I want, Erica tells me if it can be done or how it could be better, and we both agree on a look before she goes in. There have been so many horrible incidents at other salons where I thought we were on the same level and I turned out to be so, so wrong. If that’s happened to you, go to Bailey Jane to have them fix it. The prices are lower than what you’d see at other salons in the South Bay, but obviously more expensive than Fantastic Sam’s. I highly recommend this independent little hair salon. Make sure you call them first; I’m not sure how busy they are but they seem to fill up bookings between the two of them fairly quickly.
