This store is my go to place for all my mobile needs. The employees here are competent and friendly and will do what they can to help you. I’ve gotten my past two phones here and have even brought several family members and friends to get phones and tablets here as well!

I was pleased enough with the customer service when I first purchased a Verizon phone, mifi jetpack and plan. The associates were friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Originally, I had an iphone(broke it) and plan directly through Sprint. My phone number was ported over and all was well and right with the world. A few days later, my dad decided that Verizon’s current 4-line family plan pricing was awesome compared to what he was paying for himself, my stepmom and little brother. He added a 4th line for me under a new number and signed on. I’d already been informed that I’d probably not be able to port my number over. BBM doesn’t offer the Edge program that the new family plan involves. That was fine. I told the BBM associates what was going on and returned everything. All seemed fine until I got a $ 500 bill from Verizon. I called them directly and they explained that for whatever reason, the BBM associate that processed the return DIDNOT cancel the mifi, nor the phone line and therefore both of these were still racking up charges. They said I would have to go back to the store and have this handled. I went back to the store and dealt with different employees who were rightfully not pleased that the previous girl did not cancel things out, because it resulted in them being chewed out by Verizon. Things were cancelled retroactively and Verizon was to issue me another bill. The corrected bill came and was still near $ 150. I called Verizon directly and was asked repeatedly if I’d returned the phone(which I had, way back when, lol). Apparently the return was processed incorrectly somehow. I had a receipt stating that everything went back to my card, but this information had not been submitted to Verizon. In the end, I was only supposed to have been charged the two $ 35 activation fees and the prorated amount of days I had their service. It amounted to $ 95(after receiving the $ 50 bill credit from the phone return) and a 20 minute phone conversation. I will NEVER use BBM again. Primarily because you get more options going through the carrier directly. But the constant fails at this store in particular is just ridiculous and I highly advise against dealing with them.

Went to the Best Buy Mobile in the Redondo Beach mall today and had an encounter with the young sales lady that was very unprofessional on her account. I found her to be extremely rude and unprofessional. I will no longer do business at that store because of this young lady. And we’re talking about thousands of dollars of business just from me alone.

Dropped down after getting my phone back. Do not buy the insurance plan. They replace your damaged phones with«refurbished» phones that all have problems. I am on my 2nd replacement phone and I am having trouble with it. Seems to me that the Geek Squad insurance plan for mobile phones is pretty worthless.

If you are planning on buying a phone from Best Buy, this may be an easier way to do it. It’s a store dedicated to mobile devices, so you won’t get distracted by the many other items you might end up buying if you go to Best Buy. Good: It’s faster and easier than going into a big Best Buy store. Not so good: The phone models are dummy phones, so you can’t just walk in and test one out on your own. The price on the phone I wanted was the same as it was through Sprint. And of course, they want to upsell you on everything. Meh. I went to the Sprint store across the way to test out a REAL phone on display.

Well, it’s in the South Bay Galleria, so I should have known better to begin with. I went in to the mall for a specific store but walked by this place on the way. I love texting and my old phone was having issues with the«s» button — a pretty important button. I thought I’d check out their phones since I’m due for an upgrade anyway. The phone I’d had my eye(HTC shift) was free at the moment. The guy at the front even checked my eligibility online for upgrade on his tablet — and he told me about the tax costs that would still be due. When I decided to buy, the service was SLOW. Ugh. We were waiting forever for them to finish my upgrade. When I upgrade at a Sprint store they take care of that stuff in around 15 minutes. We were here for at least 30 min. just checking out(there was no line). They were trying to upsell me on a number of things, which is a pet peeve of mine. I really don’t like that stuff. A really important aspect of buying a new phone is that your contacts and info get uploaded immediatly so you can use the new phone(your old one stops working after you switch). Well, their system was down and I got sent to another store. Luckily, Sprint is right accross from them in the mall. Unluckily, we waited in line for 35 – 40 more minutes to get help there for something that takes 5 minutes or less to do. Then, when I decided to make a call when we were almost home — I got an automated message telling me I «wasn’t authorized to make phone calls». They didn’t do things correctly at Best Buy when starting up my new phone — so I had to go to ANOTHER Sprint store near my house and have them fix it. Total time spent on getting a new phone: over 2 hours and visits 3 different stores. Yuck. Didn’t check to see if Sprint was offering this same deal beforehand — but I will definitly check with Sprint about their deals before buying here again.
