My girlfriend and I were greeted at the front door and sat very quickly. Our server Daryl went above and beyond in every step of taking our orders, to describing all the meats and cheeses on the meat and cheese plate. Both of our entrées were delicious and cooked perfectly. Daryl recommended a magnifcent dessert that my girlfriend and I made disappear quickly. All and all the food was awesome but the service is what truly stood out for us ! Being a bartender by trade i have high expectation for service and quality of staff. When we decide to come back(which will be very soon) we hope to have daryl as our server again.

HT Grill is one of my favorite restaurants, they have really good French onion soup. The steak is also really good. I definitely recommend this place, you will have a great time.

We had a nice brunch here on the outdoor patio. Our omelettes were well prepared and seemed fresh. I would not say that this is worth an extra trip, but it was enjoyable.

This place is awful. Overpriced. Lousy food. Questionable service. Just terrible in nearly every way. The only reason it stays in business is by being in the best location in Riviera Village. I really hope it closes some day and something great takes its spot. Our neighborhood deserves something better!

App’s were outstanding, try the poutine, you won’t be sorry, the pizza/flat bread were also incredible. Wonderful outside patio and reasonable prices make this a great stop. One of the most memorable aspects were the staff who were outstanding, very friendly and on the ball, great job, looking forward to heading back!

Date & Time: Saturday May 14 Purpose: gathering of women for Brunch Buffet Brunch Buffet = $ 25 pp for a party of 15 or more … private dining room ***(highly recommend the room) menu includes — scrambled eggs — fruit parfait — crispy potatoes with peppers & onions — applewood smoked bacon — southern fried chicken & waffles — coffee cake, croissants, bagels — seasonal fresh fruit & vanilla whip cream — freshly squeezed juice — coffee The Menu sounds amazing, but makes me wonder if that’s what I ate. I personally was very disappointed with their brunch… I would rather just grab my own personal plate of food for that price. Not sure where all $ 25 would go into… maybe just incase the people eat too much? I think the Hometown Buffet or Souplantation has a better food choices for $ 10 and less. All I stuffed my stomach with were the fruit parfaits and coffee and freshly squeezed juice?(tasted just like any ordinary carton orange juice) I would give TWOSTARS for the dining room! It’s a private room on the side that can seat about 20 – 25 people. I would use this place for a baby shower, friend’s birthday, or something… it nicely decorated and has an old wood cabin aura to the place! No stars for the food or drink… that’s quite sad for a restaurant… But I have to be honest with my reviews.

The service was not really effective or friendly. The waiter seemed puzzled when we asked for another menu. Given the place was not even half full, it seemed odd that they would not have more menus. My regular Bloody Mary was so spicy from horseradish that halfway through I had to ask the waiter to pour more tomato juice in it, so I can drink it. The waiter again struggled with coming up with a resolution to the spicy drink problem. The calamari was fine. The patio seating was very pleasant near the jasmine.

Had the BRUNCHBUFFET in their private dining room($ 25/person, parties of 15 or more) Menu: — scrambled eggs — fruit parfait — crispy potatoes with peppers & onions — applewood smoked bacon — southern fried chicken & waffles — coffee cake, croissants, bagels — seasonal fresh fruit & vanilla whip cream — freshly squeezed juices Room: I liked the setup of their private dining room. Sort of antique looking with one long table for the whole party to sit(almost looks like we’re having«The Last Supper»). The table was big enough to comfortably fit the food in the middle and our personal plates and cups. Fruits and pastry were placed on the tables to grab, but there was a separate table to serve yourself for hot foods. Food: Loved the chocolate muffin(not sure where that fits in the menu) & their fruit parfait!!!(Ended up eating two of those.) Other ladies seemed to enjoy the other pastries, so I think their pastries are on the fairly good side! **Would I be coming back? Probably not. I may consider if I had to host a private dining party, but I would want to try their lunch & dinner menus first to be more certain.

Beet and burrata salad was light and filling. The HT lemonade is perfect for a hot Southern California day. The BLTAS sandwich(bacon lettuce tomato salmon) was not my horrible but defiantly not amazing. Sit on the patio it has the perfect setting.

Love this place. Great happy hour prices. The food is amazing. Always beautifully prepared and taste amazing. The adult Mac and cheese is great. Pulled pork sliders were delicious. Tuna tostada was awesome, love the avocado crème. Blueberry pancakes and a Bloody Mary bar for brunch, need I say more? The staff is always friendly and helpful. And the ambience is amazing. Love sitting outside by the fire pit. This place is a must try if you haven’t already!

Ahi Pineapple Tostadas from HT Grill in South Redondo. This place should be much better. Great location, great space, large center bar, entertainment license, beautiful fire pit where you can still smoke. I’m sure they do just fine but when we went in, it was crickets. Then the food was sub par. Double Whammy! The bartender was friendly but was fresh off the boat and didn’t know any local spots while trying to have convo about local spots. The dishes we chose had great concepts and ingredients. They just were not executed. Ahi Tuna Tostada. I’ve served this dish at multiple places. It’s pretty simple just stick to the KISS rule. They drenched it some sweet marinade. Pineapples are sweet enough. They they left the Avocado Crème on the side. That should be the base layer so the Tuna can stick to the Tostada. Then Adult Mac and Cheese had amazing ingredients: Shitakii, Bacon, Smoked Gouda, Farfalla. It ended up tasting like soup with pasta. No cheesy, gooey, goodness. Oh well. Better luck next time.

Ordered the shrimp and grits for breakfast… seriously good. Delicious chorizo stew… YUM! My husband had the crab omelette. He seemed to enjoy it. Great service this time… super attentive and on top of the entire service. Really nice. We’d return…

Used them for a private party on a Sunday for brunch. Had the most wonderful experience. They were on time, and the food was wonderful. The service: surprised to see some of the negative reviews. Our server was extremely attentive and had other employees who helped us as well. The food: way better then we even expected. The amount of food that kept being rolled out of the kitchen was insane and everything was delicious. Very grateful to them for helping make a special occasion even more special.

Not bad More of a bar/mini– night club concept, which is fun. Good crowd and almost always a good band so good place for a few drinks to chat and meet people. Food and service is so so.

My sister was in town for a few days before flying off to Singapore, so we met up with mutual friends for dinner. I’d never heard of HT Grill, but then I rarely make it to this part of town. SERVICE: Our reservation(just in case) was for 6 pm and were greeted with a friendly smile when we walked in the door. Once seated our server Johnny was friendly and VERY polite, his responses always ended with a «Sir» or «Ma’am»! He gave us just the right amount of attention as well, not too much and not too little, checking on us regularly to refill water or pour more wine, etc. Also, after seeing we weren’t enjoying the crab cakes, he whisked them away and removed them from the bill, more on that in a minute. FOOD: After cocktails and placing our orders, this crusty bread was brought out with butter and a citrus chimichurri sauce. The bread wasn’t as soft in the middle as I prefer, like it was sliced a while before, but was still good to nibble on. To start we ordered the crab cakes, mac & cheese, baby wedge salad, kale caesar salad and truffle shorty flatbread. The Crab Cakes(Maryland crab, baby arugula, crispy onions, sauce — $ 14.50) looked beautiful, but we couldn’t taste any crab. My sister(a chef) said they had too much filling and very little crab. The«Adult Mac & Cheese»(Shitaki mushrooms, Applewood bacon, smoked gouda crème, bow-tie pasta — $ 12) was a truly delicious«pasta dish with mushrooms in a cream sauce» with a beautiful blend of flavors. But mac & cheese? Sorry, not even close in my opinion. Put less cream and add more cheese(s), then we’ll talk. I just have an issue with calling a dish something it’s not. Baby Wedge Salad(red onion, Applewood bacon, tomato, blue cheese dressing — $ 9). I haven’t had one of these in a long time and it was very good. Kale Caesar Salad(kale & romaine, thyme croûton, avocado Caesar, balsamic syrup — $ 9). My sister eats like a bird and ordered too much, so I ended up finishing this delicious salad for her. I’d definitely order it again! Truffle Shorty Flatbread(onion jam, feta, bacon, truffle oil, arugula, braised short rib — $ 15). I had a slice and it was quite tasty, but I guess I have no idea what truffle oils tastes like, because I couldn’t differentiate it from the other flavors. No photo, sorry. For entrees: I ordered the Meatloaf(Angus beef, bacon marmalade, veggies, Potato purée, chipotle ketchup — $ 19) Apparently I missed«chipotle ketchup» in the description because the spiciness caught me off guard once I was about 1⁄3 of the way into the dish. The 3 round, bacon wrapped pieces of meatloaf atop the potatoes were very good and had a unique(different) texture. Blackened Scallops(cilantro risotto, cajun seasoning, mango /chorizo salsa, smoked paprika oil — $ 33). My sis said they were very good and cooked perfectly. Seared European Sea Bass(Beet purée, cauliflower grits, micro basil, seasonal veggies, parsley oil — $ 28) She really enjoyed the dish, saying it was very, VERY good! No photo. Thai Night Farro Risotto(red pepper, zucchini, shitake mushroom, soy ginger glaze, spiced tofu — $ 18) He said he enjoyed this dish. DESSERT: I was too full to have dessert, but they ordered Butter Cake(beet-raspberry gel, vanilla bean ice cream — $ 10) The cake was the size of a cupcake and the sauce had raspberry seeds in it… uh, for 10 bucks??? OVERALL: Attractive décor, solid service & pretty solid food(except one dish). After 3 cocktails, 4 apps, 4 entrees, a $ 36 bottle of wine and 1 dessert, our bill was $ 244 before tip, higher than I expected. 3.5 stars rounded up.

The HT in the name stands for Hennessy’s Tavern. I have spent a lot of money in the various Hennessy’s around SoCal most often in Carlsbad but I’ve also visited the Manhattan beach one and the one here in Redondo across the road from HT Grill. I like Hennessy’s as a bar. Great place for a drink and the bar food is good. However on this visit I wanted better food than bar food and unfortunately HT Grill failed to deliver. Two had ribs, because it’s hard to screw up ribs, I had the salmon. Unfortunately none of the food was notable. It was fuel only. I would not have been disappointed if I’d know it was a Hennessy’s before I went in. But C’est la vie

Unilocal has changed the way businesses work, holding them accountable for their hits, their misses, their mistakes. I can always count on Unilocalers to be honest, and unfortunately, if Unilocalers are to be believed, it seems H.T. Grill has made their fair share of mistakes. Even the bottomless brunch isn’t enough to drown everyone’s myriad complaints. I personally didn’t have many, but I also wasn’t impressed. The Shrimp & Grits were a bit off on the grits, and I didn’t love the chorizo added, but they were, at worst, not that bad. I expected less from the Sailor Omelet, but the real lump crab does just fine with avocado. Five years of Unilocal elite and all I can say is, wow. I love that Unilocal gives all people an equal voice, a freedom to to express their opinion. It’s just that some restaurants allow more positive expression than others, and it seems H T Grill was not one of those restaurants.

Came here on a Sunday for brunch. Made reservations for 7 people without a problem. Holy heck balls, it was so hot inside! Do they not have any air conditioning or turn it on? I was sweating through my whole meal. Now that that’s off my chest, the food was pricy for the smaller portions. I had the salmon, which was deliciously buttery and crisp. My DH had the French dip. Everything tasted great and the service was fine. I just couldn’t get over how hot it was inside. We did street metered parking close by.

They are nice here. I ordered the same thing here twice, hoping that the second time it would be better. The shrimp and grits tasted great, but the only thing I didn’t like was the chewiness of the chorizo. I do recommend the $ 14 bottomless mimosas with a brunch entrée.

2.5 I feel bad for giving this place such a rating as, for me, it had the potential to be much more. 2 friends and I rode our bikes here and caught a round of drinks in the bar while waiting for a table in the patio, and we didn’t have to wait long as we were sitting pretty in the sun as we got our drinks. I ordered the chorizo plate and it was just what I was looking for this great morning for an early brunch, plus, I opted for the bottomless mimosas and my friends had the eggs Benedict with another pull from the bar… And all was good till… It was the service this day I’m sorry to say that just fell short, our girl seem somewhat distracted as we had to get the attention of another waitress just to get her to even meet us after 10 minutes. Well, we were good to go for drinks and food order and off she went and soon returned with my mimosa. Our food arrived and my mimosa was about done, it did sit empty till I happen to catch her gaze and showed her my glass to which she fetched me a fresh one and then she was m.i.a. again. I noticed other tables and they practically had their glasses doubling up. I’m not a huge stickler for getting a ton of booze in me for brunch but I’d just like to have some in my glass when I wish to consume it with my meal. When she happened by while I was barely into my 2nd glass I figured I’d better ask for another and I was spot on as this arrived just as I finished. Ugh. The saving grace was the manager, when he came out with our check(I don’t know if our server asked him to bring it) he asked if i’d like another mimosa, and since we weren’t in a big hurry, I accepted and he brought my drink AND a ¾ glass of comped Guinness for one of my buddies«Just so you won’t have to drink alone.»! Now that’s service! I hate to call out the server like this as she was courteous and sincere, just a touch on the training on managing her table’s needs and I’d be ready to bump up this star count. I look forward to another visit!
