Dr. Hoopes is busy, and that is for a good reason. I love this dentistry office! The staff, from the receptionists to the hygienists to the doctor himself are all warm, friendly people. You may have to book very far in advance for a cleaning, but it’s worth it. I had my(long overdue) cleaning a few days ago. My visit included friendly conversation, a good thorough cleaning, and education about my dental health. It’s also nice knowing that your money is going to a great family.

I’ll preface this review by saying, I’ve never liked going to the dentist starting when I had braces at 8years old. I’ve had a change of heart thanks to finding the right dentist. Honestly, I’d rather go on vacation than to the dentist, but then again, who wouldn’t. With that said, Dr. Hoops and his entire staff are great. Cleanings are quick and painless(even for my 2 small children). In fact, my kids ask me «isn’t time to go back to the dentist?» practically every month. If you have problems, he tells you what’s up and what he would recommend but Dr. Hoops doesn’t pressure you into anything. I would recommend this office in a heartbeat. They are great.

Being a dental chicken I put off going for way too long. The staff at Dr. Hoopes office were absolutely amazing at making me feel comfortable. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the staff from hygienists to the front desk. The cleaning went perfect with no pain. Dr. Hoopes has an amazing demeanor and made me feel at ease. No unnecessary work and straight to the point. I have a dentist for life in the south bay area. Will highly recommend this office to everyone I know.

Debbie E is absolutely correct with her review. I’d just like to add that I came into Dr Hoopes office in 2006 with tooth problems. I never saw a dentist in my life, and now that I had a job with benefits, I had no excuse to put off seeing a dentist. I knew nothing of dentists aside from movies and word of mouth horror stories. I looked up dentists on the internet(BIG mistake). By the time I called Dr Hoopes’s office, I was in such a panic that I was crying. My first visit involved just talking with Dr Hoopes. I didn’t even have to open my mouth for a lookee-loo. He wanted to know why I was scared, and he wanted to correct what I’ve heard about dentistry. Fast forward to 2010, I’ve done it all: all wisdom teeth extracted, multiple fillings, 2 root canals, 2 caps, palatal expansion, braces, cleanings, cleanings, cleanings, the works. My mouth feels so much better. Most of my problems stemmed from impacted wisdom teeth, and I had no clue how disruptive that pain was until it was fixed.

OK, I know that you’re about to look at me like I have four heads. But I have to say that I really don’t mind going to the dentist. Maybe it’s because I go to Dr. Hoopes. Or maybe because he hasn’t given me a root canal yet. Dr. Hoopes and his staff are very laid back. They talk to you on a level that doesn’t make you feel like you’re only two inches tall since you only floss 6 out of the 7 days a week(and how many actually do THAT consistently)? His hygienists are very personable and hold normal conversations with you even though you can’t respond while your mouth is open, you are salivating, and they have a sharp object scraping around in there. No one loves getting their teeth cleaned, but it’s not a huge ordeal here. Then again, I haven’t have major work/roots canals done, either. I like how I get a postcard sent to me a couple of weeks before my appointment and then they also call a day ahead of time to remind me. Billing is super easy. And, most importantly, the swag bags are great. Toothbrush, travel size toothpaste, travel sized floss. Sometimes more if a Rep had recently come in and dropped off more goodies.
