I’m a big believer that if a business takes care of its customers, their customers will take take care of them by coming back and referring people over. That being said, I stopped by last week since one of the lights come on my dashboard and I have been a customer of BMWworx aka Miniworx (the same business) for sometime and they done maintenance on my BMW in the past. In the prior occasions, I have usually deal with Roger the owner but I know he’s usually at their new location so I was helped by another Hispanic gentleman which I didn’t get his name. But long story short after waiting for him to get off the phone, he came out and asked me for my keys, started my car and before I could even say anything he made the remark «your engine sounds off!» without looking at the dashboard or anything. I pointed out the reason why I was there and I ask him if he could give me an estimate once he ran scanner in the car to see what was that light or sensor about. His smart response was «there could be so many things wrong with the car» and offered me to a diagnostic for $ 125, so immediately mentioned that in the past the technician would just run the scanner and they would give me an estimate based on what was wrong. As soon as I said that he returned my car key back and he said «I don’t have time for that right now» and walked away. Wow what a disappointment! I wish Roger would of been there to see that. That’s why I decided to take a few minutes to write this review and hope he becomes aware of this. Their business model has changed from taking care of their customers to let’s sale anything that we can to the customer. They have officially lost one customer and will continue to lose more if they continue to over sale on things and services that do not make sense. By the way a diagnosis at South Bay BMW is $ 50 vs $ 125 this guy was trying to charge me here… so who’s more expensive?

Although I did not take my car to their shop, I sent them a message for an estimate. Instead of brushing me off Roger replied and even gave me a website to check for my car needs. I appreciated the fact that he took the time to do that, it says a lot about his business and his style of business. If I have anyone who needs his services I will be the first to recommend.

I want to say thanks to John and Roger at Miniworx for doing the right appropriate thing, for their customer satisfaction. They refunded the diagnosis fee after i took my car back and the issue wasn’t fixed (I had an issue w the high pressure pump causing my car to rumble and it would stall, Eddie the tech did address and fix the problem there but it was more than just no compression in the first cylinder). They admitted to this and that’s hard to find from a mechanic and it shows they care about their customer’s satisfaction. Roger has been in the business a long time and i do trust his knowledge of the minis, he also gave me an appraisal of my car, which i took to carmax and it was around the same amount Roger quoted. I really appreciate their customer service. I’ve had my car here before and all in all, it’s been a good experience. Thanks guys!

I usually do not write reviews on Unilocal but I was very pleased by the service that they have provided. Max and his technicians are truly amazing! Their services has exceeded my expectations. I Highly recommend anyone who has Mini or BMW who is looking for a reliable repair shop in the SouthBay!

Once again, Brian and Mike come through! Blown engine, and they totally pulled it off with a new one. They took care of everything… if you have a Mini Cooper this is the only place to go!!!

I love this place. They have always taken care of my mini. However they are a bit pricey. I always look for other options in certain things to have done at other places if possible and universal, because even though I know their are dedicated to minis, they can over price things. My engine light turned on, I figured out at home what was the problem. I called to ask the price to have it repaired, they said $ 400. The part was $ 250 and $ 150 for labor. I ordered the part at home for $ 100 and called back to see how much they would change to replace my oxygen sensor, they said $ 125. I called my local mechanic and he changed it for $ 20. I saved myself $ 180.
However I know when we are talking about transmission or other important parts of a mini they are the ones to go to because not every mechanic knows how to work on a Mini Cooper.

I was very hesitant with bringing my car here. When it comes to Mini Cooper prices they were not too bad. Bryan had terrific customer service, he even kept my son very happy and occupied while we dealt with paperwork. Ricardo was just as great. I will be bringing back my car.

Miniworx is the BEST. I’ve been getting my MINI serviced for a few years now and couldn’t be more satisfied. Roger, Ronaldo, and Brian are very honest, knowledgeable, and helpful. The price is so much more reasonable compared to the dealers. They are excellent!

VIP treatment from the first phone call. Excellent service, great communication, experts in automotive. Highly recommended.

I’m downgrading to 4 stars because while everything I said is still true and I’m generally still a fan, I now know that I was way upsold on the cost of the tire I had replaced (it runs $ 140-​$ 160 depending where you go, but they charged me $ 250). It’s possible that they were overcharged, but still — they should be trying to get the best rates for their clients. Also, the West LA Miniworx location told me that you are not supposed to mix tire brands/​types, but Miniworx South Bay did replace out one of my Goodyear Excellence tires for a Bridgestone Potenza. Granted they said that they were unable to locate my exact tire without having to special order it and I really wanted a replacement that day, but I wish that I had been told about the potential consequences of mixing brands and maybe I would have waited the day for the tire to be ordered. Now I am forced to change out my other three tires to match that one Bridgestone Potenza, although luckily not a big deal since I was able to get them for $ 140 at America’s Tire.
So all in all still a fan, but recommend dealing with your tires elsewhere.

Been coming here for years now since my car came out of warranty and have been happy with the service. Then recently I have become extremely satisfied. My power steering was not functioning right. MiniWorx found out the steering wheel pump needs replacement, about $ 1000. Ronaldo the service advisor, researched it and found out that there is an extended warranty on the steering wheel pump. He recommended I take it too the dealer which I did and have an appointment to have it fixed and it is indeed covered under warranty. The warranty was extended to 100,000 mi and my car has 99,665, made it just in time. Thank goodness and especially Thank You to MiniWorx and Ronaldo. They could of easily just done the work themselves and I would be out $ 1000. Very honest and reputable auto shop.

They were all-​hands-​on-​deck to help and answer all of my questions! Ronaldo, Allen and Brian were all AMAZING to work with, honest and knowledgeable. The work even took a little longer than expected, but they kept to their estimate! Much appreciated!!!

I don’t know about you… but for me, making a decision to trust my Mini to anyone other than the dealer was really tough. It turns out that once I got past that (irrational) paranoia, it may be the BEST decision I ever made! Really…
I have been taking my car to MiniWorx for several happy years now… and, I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that it has taken me this long to write a review about their amazing, professional and AFFORDABLE service. I have saved many thousands of dollars having them work on my car INSTEAD OF THE DEALER. They will not sell you something that you do not need. Their service is impeccable. (Remember «service»? It is a dying art that they keep alive everyday with every customer!)
I could go on and on but I won’t. I can only conclude by saying this will be a decision you will never regret! I jokingly tell them that they are like «having a really good boyfriend»… but I mean it. They are always honest and reliable. They CARE about your car as much as you do.
All experiences should be this good. Happy Mini driving!

I love my mini but hate that it’s so high maintenance. I thought it was just me and bad luck. Going to the dealer cost me a fortune. Going to Miniworx taught me that minis are just temperamental and require a lot of service. Miniworx is a good alternative to the dealer. They’ve got friendly service & professionals who truly appreciate the product. The technicians take time to show and explain clearly what the issue is… It means a lot, especially for a busy woman who does not have time to google everything to verify whether I am getting ripped off.
So long as I have my mini, I will be bringing it to Miniworx.

Everyone there is very respectful with great customer service, I’ve got my fly wheel/​clutch replaced by them and they did an amazing job!
My coopers engine also has problems and they let me keep my cooper there with no hesitation while I was out if town, they give great advice that’s best for your car and wallet, all honest trustworthy people, highly recommend to anybody that has a Mini Cooper

I brought my Mini here several months ago for a standard oil change. Everyone was nice, and they even gave me a ride to work all the way over by LAX.
But what has really compelled me to write a review was the service I received yesterday. The power steering went out on my Mini, so brought it over. They immediately informed me that there was an extended warranty on the power steering on my model and that I should take it over to the dealer for free service. However, they first did a full inspection of my car to make sure there was nothing the dealer could blame for my power steering failure. And get this, they didn’t charge me a dime for any of the labor. It’s good to know I’ve got honest mechanics down the street looking out for me. I’ll definitely be back for my next service.

I’ve been meaning to review MiniWorx for awhile. If you have a Mini, you want these guys to take care of it. Before I found this shop, I was all set to sell my 2006 Mini because I had so much trouble finding an affordable, reliable place for service. But I’ve been coming here for 2 years, and my sweet little car is in good hands. It just had its 90k service and clutch replacement, and it’s running like new.
Their prices are great, the staff is super-​nice, the shop is squeaky clean, and they know Minis better than anyone. They’ll always give good guidance on what needs to be done now and what can wait.
But best of all, they made me fall in love with my Mini all over again!

Absolutly the best service I have ever had. Being a woman you expect to be ripped off when you go do anything with your car, like jiffy lube telling me I needed my radiator flushed for $ 100+ and there was nothing wrong with it!!!
Anyway the owner’s are amazing, the staff are great and the prices are unbeatable anywhere in the LA area. I would reccomend to EVERYONE not just Mini and BMW owners but everyone who drives in LA especially women not wanting to be intimidated and ripped off. Roger and the whole MiniWorx team at the South Bay location is amazing! I went in for an oil change and new tires, and got an alignment to make sure the tires wear evenly, and they never pressured me to get anything done that didn’t need to be done. The whole thing was costly, but the dealership would charge more for sure. The team is professional and friendly and a pleasure to visit. The location is great, right by the mall and AMC theater! I hope they open a location up in Santa Monica!

Great customer service from Stacy and the techs over at MiniWorx! Took in my 2006 R50 that I recently purchased to get it looked over for any possible issues. They found one minor item and quickly took care of it, no up sell of any kind. One of the few honest shops left that take pride in their workmanship and their customer service.
Like others have mentioned, this place is legit.
