Two strikes and you’re out! I just left there and had a bad 2nd experience. I entered and got no greeting but all the women working in back looked like I interrupted them. Then a woman followed me around step by step as I looked at fabric. I swear she acted like I was there to steal something!
No words exchanged. Just mean glares. Quilting isn’t only for old ladies! You may want to be pleasant or welcoming! Just a thought.

The owner — Nina Anderson is Nasty Nasty Nasty
Makes for a very Uncomfortable place to be
I wouldn’t go back there if she’s the only quilt shop in 100 mile radius!!!
Nina pretends to know everything but knows very little — She feeds off the innocence of people trying to learn a new craft and acts as if she’s above everybody
All in all I do not recommend this place —

Nina’s Quilt Barn is a wonderful quilt shop. They are few and far between in So Cal, but this shop has a wide variety of calico and batik fabrics. Additionally, they are happy to open up products (like threads) to better put them on display on your WIP if you bring it in to help decide on a quilting thread or something.
I am most happy with their willingness to help. You can bring in anything you have questions on, and they offer to teach you how to do it for only $ 6! What an amazing offer! They have classes posted on their websites and knowledgeable employees to consult with.

Best quilt shop on many levels. Classes run continually & everyone is welcomed. I am a traveler & they allowed me to sit in on a class & let me use the necessary tools needed, to get by. Excellent instructions & care. Great selections on fabric & they even sell machines & are not pushy. I love nina & all her teachers. They are very gentle caring & excellent.

When I first came into Nina’s I was so impressed with everyone’s welcoming and warmth! Everyone working there really talk to you to make you feel comfortable. The store is not large but they have a great selection of fabrics and notions.
They are so helpful, selecting fabrics, offering classes, and sharing their expertise. No questions go unanswered.
If you are interested in quilting, this is the place for you!

Nina’s quilt Barn is unlike any quilt store I have ever been in.
I am a beginner quilter. Nina, And Nancy are so kind and helpful. The rest of the ladies who come into the store regularly have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like part of the Barn Family.
The Fabric selection is amazing. The environment is fun, friendly and not intimidating. I’m looking forward to taking the beginners Sampler Class. I LOVE the fabric I have selected. Thank you Nina.

What a wonderful experience! Brought my 9 yr. old daughter to buy some fabric to make a doll. I do not sew. Nina got all the supplies we would need and asked us to come back in a few hours. I had no idea what to expect, Nina and a couple other women helped my daughter make an amazing doll out of socks! Everyone got involved and Nina showed my daughter how to use the sewing machine! She had the best day! Can’t wait to get a couple of my daughters friends together so they can all learn to make a quilt! Nina is a wonderful lady and all the women were so kind:) Thank you all for a great day. We just moved to Redondo Beach a couple of weeks ago, what a great feeling and a warm welcome to this beautiful community!
