They have great service and the tables are just so nicely set. There macaroni and cheese with truffle oil is to die for. The pizza is OK. Overall you have a great experience at Orlando’s and I really recommend it for couples and families. This Italian gem is a sure to go place when in Redondo

As always, great food and outstanding service. I had their rib steak, and all I can say is WOW. Tender, great flavor and cooked perfectly. We will be back soon. We had some gelato for dessert and it was amazing. Rich and creamy. A perfect end to a great meal.

The other reviews for Orlando’s are pretty high, so my expectations were high when I finally made it here. We came in on a Tuesday night, so it was pretty quiet. There were maybe 3 other parties seated. From what I could tell, there was the hostess and one other waitress working the floor. That would be fine, since it wasn’t busy anyway, except that they didn’t seem to communicate with each other. We were asked twice for a drink order, and I put in an order for poutine with the waitress. About half an hour passed before I realized the order was never put in, as I could see directly into the kitchen and all the cooks were standing around. When I inquired about it with the hostess, she seemed utterly confused. Normally this kind of mistake wouldn’t bother me that much, but I think they really have some communication kinks to work out, as she then asked if I had given that order to her or the other girl Caesar salad– overpriced and mediocre at best. The salad was pretty wet still from being freshly rinsed, and the dressing was pretty much nonexistent. You could taste the pepper though! Totally lacked flavor Poutine– I love good poutine from Canada, but this didn’t quite make it. It was good, but too salty as other Unilocalers mentioned Spaghetti and meatballs– this was probably the biggest disappointment. The tomato sauce was light, but the meatballs were the worst. They were super hard and dense, and not juicy and moist at all. I had difficulty just cutting my fork through them. It almost seemed like they were old and had just been reheated or something. We couldn’t even eat them Pizza– I ordered the prosciutto and arugula pizza, but my sister is vegetarian so I requested to have the prosciutto on only half, along with an egg baked in the middle of the pizza. The waitress gave us the weirdest look, insinuating that was gross and weird which made me in turn feel weird for asking. Anyway, food comes out and the prosciutto was clearly just dumped on top of half the pizza and not baked into it, and the arugula was also only on half. Two eggs were fried and put on top of the plain half. I was disappointed that they didn’t get it right, but then I also didn’t find their pizza to be anything memorable It took about half an hour after we ordered to see any food appear on the table, including the salad, and when all the food came, I didn’t find it all to be that great. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but I’m not sure what all these raving reviews are talking about. I found everything to just be ok, but nothing great or memorable, and frankly all overpriced for what it is, and I won’t be coming back. I’d much rather go down the street to Scardinos or to Fritto Misto in Hermosa for some good pizza and pasta.

I am walking distance from Orlando’s and have read lots of reviews, so I figured that I’d give it a shot. This review represents my fair and unbiased opinion. Bear in mind that this is a new restaurant that has opened on a corner that historically has seen its share of restaurants come n go. For starters, the design of the restaurant looks really good. They did a great job. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Upon being seated, we were offered a variety of waters from filtered to bottled. We opted for filtered, which was served in a bottle similar to what is offered in other Italian restaurants. We were also offered bread, which was homemade focaccia bread. It was pretty good. We got an entrée salad(Orlando’s Salad) that was honestly the size of a large dinner salad and it was way over priced and certainly not worth it’s $ 16 price!!! We got a brisket pizza and Lasagna and it was just ok, not bad. But certainly not worth what they charge. I gave it 3 stars because like I said it’s not bad, just overpriced in my opinion for some of their items and their staff were really nice and professional. Also, the restaurant was very clean!!! I think my chief complaint is more or less the prices for what you are getting. If they adjusted the prices or increased the portion sizes it would be more palatable. Finally, in all fairness this review was written several months ago and I just noticed that it was in my drafts and not posted. Perhaps, the owner has made some positive changes since my experience.

Got some take out I ordered the burrata and beets which was very fresh and had great flavor! I also ordered the meat balls and they did not disappoint, they were well seasoned and tasted very good. I have been here for dinner before and that’s why I keep going back! The menu has lots of different fun delicious item to try. Portions are not skimpy and staff is always friendly. This place is worth coming !

Ok so the 2 stars are mainly for the food. It was very good! However since this place is still very new they need a lot of help with organization, managing time and being properly staffed for larger events. Our lunch group were the first ones there(party of 15) and 5 of us got food after a 30 minute wait. The rest of us had to 55 minutes for out food! I felt bad for the people who came in after us! They had a long wait too. In a restaurant which I worked in that industry for many years moons ago, if you only have 1 cook and he/she is behind, that manager better get in there to help! No excuses! The food was very good but IF I go back it will be for take out only!!!

The décor is a combination of contemporary, graphic hard-edge, and rustic. The concrete bar and floor, the steel-grey chairs and slate-blue upholstery are quite cool. Subtle warmth is added by the wood paneling on the ceiling, bar wall, and table tops. The abstract paintings pop with vivid colors. The chandeliers, while elegant and organic, seem out of place. The hard contrast of the white and black continually draw the eye upward. The lemonade is homemade. It has good tartness and subtle sweetness. The V burger is a homemade garbanzo bean patty with arugula, tomato, mushrooms, olive tapenade, and goat cheese on a brioche bun. The consistency and texture is good, but the flavor is lacking. The sandwich is bland overall. Perhaps some cumin, paprika, and a bit of white pepper would do the trick. The bun has a nice texture and is fresh. The fries are cut from the potato, skin and all, then fried in veggie oil. They have nice flavor and a light dusting of salt and pepper. I ordered a mushroom pizza pomodoro. The pie is swimming in cheese and its saltiness overwhelms any subtle flavors that might be in the crust. A bit more sauce and crunch would be welcomed. The pasta primavera was recommend as the best dish in the house. I’ll try that next time.

Ordered take-out. Onion soup — tiny cup for $ 9, consistency too watery and taste not good. Bad value. The regular Poutine was an unpleasant experience, not enough gravy for the container but enough to make the fries soggy. The Nutella pizza was great. The place reeked of alcohol and rancid dough. We were excited to try their food but were disappointed with 2 out of 3 dishes. Pretty inside, but the location is a bit grungy.

Boom!!! Started our night with the Steak Tartare, and French Onion Soup. The Tartare was great with a generous portion of cube steak and the perfect amount of spice and seasoning. It was a really nice twist from the traditional ground steak tartare. We also had an awesome version of French Onion soup with portobello mushroom and smothered in delicious Swiss and Gruyère! Our main course was the Lasagna which was filled with love and layers of great ingredients and styled out with Amaze-balls Marinara. We also had the Carbonera that was loaded with flavor, but had pops of color with peas and cherry tomatoes to once again stand out from the traditional road! Kudos to Orlando and his team for making our first experience in his restaurant a great one. We will defiantly be back, and maybe beef carpaccio will be on the menu! I’d personally like to for thank Orlando for coming over and introducing himself to us and really polishing off our meal and dining experience.

Used to eat here when it was Calamari’s. New name with a new owner brings an interesting fusion of Italian/Canadian/French. Great salads, unique menu items and a great new ambience lends itself to an enjoyable dining experience. Enjoy!

Returned for another enjoyable lunch with an altogether different presentation. Food was beautifully presented and the bonconccini was delightfully prepared with a flavor packed garlic pesto and EVOO drizzle. Yum. Seriously good. The kale and fennel salad was equally as fresh and good as it could be. Thick slices of whole carrot and cucumber made a pretty plate and a crunchy addition. We both ordered meatballs in a very good sauce. Could have used a little more grated cheese on top but overall a satisfying meal. Almost forgot. The art! Spectacular. Note to owners., turn off the tv! We go out to enjoy the disconnection. Plus it was a soap opera! Your lovely art is intellectually stimulating to hold its own without the tv. Maybe at night for sports but they almost clash with your beautifully set tables. Now if the Canadiens are playing the Senators, we understand. ;)

It was good food and drinks. We have our seat quickly on Friday night around 6:30pm and it wasn’t packed but enough people are on tables. We ordered beer, spinach salad, artichoke hearts and mushroom pizza and veggie white pizza. Liked salad and they didn’t put too much dressing so it was good. Pizza was ok I felt but my husband loved it. I’m not pizza person. The owner? Frankie? He was walking around and asking people about food and their service. It was nice. We will be back there and hopefully they stay here for long time. I wanna try some non vegetarian stuff when I go there with meat eaters. One thing I couldn’t put 5 star was taking a bit too long between salad and pizza. I didn’t mind but my hungry husband was a bit irritated. I recommend people here and we will be back with some friends and family.

Omg. Got delivery from this place two nights in a row like a creep and I’m obsessed. Yes it is on the pricier side, but as I’ve said in past reviews, you get what you pay for… So I hate all the cheap people who complained about this place being expensive. Take your ass to dominos if you want cheap pizza and pasta. Last night we had the poutine and lamb burger– amazing. And just now we got a gluten free pizza with goat cheese, pesto, and pancetta. It was the crispest and most light and delicious pizza I have had in ages and I can’t believe it was gluten free. I am so happy about this new place. I can’t wait to go in for the beef tar tar next week. Great job on a new restaurant !!! Wish we took photos but we got so excited when it got here that my date and I just raped the food before we could capture the deliciousness :)))

While the looks of this restaurant located in a corner lot with Donut and smoke shop are deceiving at first, those who have stepped foot in this establishment are instantly reassured by the modern décor and layout of the restaurant. A hidden gem, this Italian focused restaurant serves up an amazing list of California brews, wines, and delicious eats. As of late, their new chef has gone to great lengths to ensure a pleasant dining experience with a new revamp of the menu that brings the level of dining here to a whole new level. I tried a few of their pizzas and was blown away! So much flavor and cheese on each slice with a real good crunch in each bite. Not your typical over-oiled, over-cheese soggy slice. The braised beef was also amazing, perfectly cooked, with all the juices flowing out upon each bite. Deserts were beautifully presented as if they have an in-house pastry chef, and the espresso was a nice touch after so much eating. All-in-all I felt like I had an experience comparable to that of when I had been in Italy. I haven’t had a chance to try out their happy hour, but at $ 5, it seems like an ideal place to grab some food & beer on game days. I will be back!

Really wanted to like it. Really cool owner chef and customer service. Nice décor. Recommend poutine but do not get with the brisket. Really salty. Orlandos burger is good but not great. Orlandos sub is not that tasty. It isn’t bad but I wouldn’t order it again. Hope they improve the brisket and sandwich.

Is there a single restaurant in Redondo Beach that doesn’t have big-screen TV’s? Seriously, turn those suckers off, they’re killing my mood! Ok, now that we have that out of the way, we can get down to the more important stuff. First of all, I was very excited when I heard about Orlando’s. The Unilocal reviews were glowing and I can never get enough authentic Italian cuisine, especially in a place like Redondo, which generally lacks both culture and vision.(Yes, I said it). Unfortunately, my excitement was cut short upon dining here. In addition to the aforementioned TV’s, the lighting is far too bright for a nice dinner, and the layout seems more like a dining hall than a cozy Italian restaurant. Don’t even get me started with the odd décor. I ordered the arugula salad, the grilled artichoke and mushroom pizza, scratch-made root beer and the tiramisu. All-in-all, the food was pretty disappointing and not at all authentic. The arugula salad lacked flavor, the root beer was way too sugary and the tiramisu was mostly whipped cream with a bit of sponge cake. The pizza was soggy and the crust was undercooked and therefore did not hold its shape. I doubt it was cooked in a pizza oven. It might seem like I’m being rather harsh, but with the outrageous prices that Orlando’s charges, I would expect much more. Please don’t charge me $ 14 for a small pizza that falls apart. As for the service, it was a bit uneven. I had to give the waiter a lot of leeway because it was his first day, but he was painfully slow and the restaurant was nearly empty. At the end of the meal, the chef/owner made a point of coming out and asking how the meal was, so I thought that was very classy. However, it could not make up for my unpleasant experience. I probably won’t be coming back.

Restaurant looks nice, staff was friendly, made good recommendations. My first visit, they had two new cooks. So the food service was slow and some of the food came out luke warm(instead of hot); which they corrected shortly after. They had a great filet minion on the specials but they were over cooked. I felt bad for the restaurant(it’s always bad when you overlook filet). The Orlando’s sandwich was really tasty. Poutine reminded me of Canada. Overall, not bad. Food was a little salty across the board. Service was good. I’d like to revisit and see if they can correct all the issues in the first visit and I’ll update my review to hopefully 4 or 5 stars.

A friend and I saw that this restaurant recently opened up, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant, no one came to greet us. We thought that maybe they didn’t notice that we had entered, so we walked towards the bar, and the employees behind the counter didn’t look up for quite some time. When we were finally acknowledged, it took them a while to figure out who was going to seat us. Food: — Bread — After ordering, our server brought us some soft bread. There is olive oil on the table, however, be warned that it is spicy! If you look closely, there are chili peppers at the bottom of the bottle. I appreciated our server warning us about this because it definitely had a kick to it. — Arugula Salad — Arugula with fennel, cherry tomatoes, vinaigrette balsamic, and shaved parmesan. They gave a large bowl of arugula, but there was very little dressing! What little dressing there was seemed to be all oil. Since the salad was bland, we asked for an extra side of dressing, however, the cup came to us with almost entirely oil and no balsamic. — Poutine with Smoked Brisket — Fries served with Montréal gravy and melted mozzarella cheese. These were pretty good! Very flavorful, but definitely on the saltier side. — Lasagna with Meat Sauce — There was hardly any meat sauce or cheese between the layers of noodles. This was also lacking in flavor. Maybe we should have tried the pizza instead…
