I brought my 6-​Generation Honda Accord in for servicing. The shop was familiar with the tranny issues with the 1998 — 2002 automatic transmission issues, and recommended rebuilding with improved components. Doing some research on rebuilding this tranny suggested using upgraded components for flow improvements of the tranny fluids, and torque convertor. The owner was quite knowledgeable on the 6 gen issues… as well as other issues with my car. I was impressed with his knowledge and familiarity with the 6 gen Honda Accords (98 thru 2002). I do most of my own repairs except for transmission work…
I brought the car in for transmission slipping… Now my car runs great again…

Great price and owner is very honest. His Mechanics are top notch. If you are looking for a place you can trust in the South Bay, look no further. Lupe Rojas went out of his way to accommodate the replacement of my car’s motor mounts on Saturday morning, in after 9:00 and out before 11:00 with no appointment. Nice to find a local repair shop that you can trust and treats customers like family. Very satisfied!!!

What a great place this was to get my radiator fixed, Rojas was honest about the price and the was done right and quickly. And don’t let the place look a little run down fool you, I would recommend this shop to anyone.

I’ve been going to this place for the past two years very pleased with both price, repair work and customer service. Rojas is the owner and he thoroughly explains the work that needs to be done. I trust this guy with my 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis, in great condition if I do say so myself, and recently purchased 1995 Mercury Villager with 220,000 miles. Grand Marquis is in the shop for new brakes, and Rojas tuned up Villager to pass smog. They are open on Saturdays but show up early in the morning.

Rojas is the man! I’ve only taken my Pathfinder in a couple times, but I receive the best service I’ve ever experienced from any mechanic. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating.
I first checked out PT&AR when I needed my rear trailing arms replaced. I initially tried another nearby shop that quoted a much higher and outrageous price, but these guys were much more reasonable and were able to get me setup right away. Excellent work.
I came back today, needing my ball joints replaced. I again was in over my head trying to replace them myself, but Rojas accepted the work and would have it done the same day, even though they appeared to be swamped with other work. Sure enough, all done in matter of hours and the work was top notch. I can’t recommend this place enough. They have all my future repairs.

Excellent customer service. I thought my car’s transmission was shot, but after towing my car there and letting Rojas check it out, he figured out that it was just in need of a tune up and new valve cover gasket. The day I brought the car home I was amazed at the difference in how it drove. My check engine light came on later that night, so I brought it back the next day and Rojas figured out what the issue was. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

I wasn’t sure what to expect after a change in ownership a few years ago, but it turns out one of the former head mechanics simply bought it from the former owner, and all is well!
These guys have done transmission fluid exchanges on 3 vehicles for me over the years, and have done a thorough job each time. They know what they’re doing when they recommend a manual fluid exchange vs. a machine flush! This takes them more time, of course, but it is safer for your vehicle (especially older vehicles) and it doesn’t cost you any more in the end, as they are very reasonably priced vs. the competition. I’ve also had them install tranny cooler and magnefine filters for me.
One time, when a 25yr. old car of mine developed an electric fan problem after an UNRELATED service there, the head of the shop took full responsibility to repair the item, at GREAT discount to me. This kind of honesty is hard to find.

they did an excellent job. they had three cars in front of me and i took my truck in about 1030 ish to 11 .they had my starter replaced by 230. they also gave me a ride home since i lived a mile a way and had to tow my truck over there… thanks guys… ill see u guy next time for any repairs needed

This autoshop is the best!
I was referred to it by a friend who had also gotten some work done here and happy with it. Recently, my engine light lit up and my friend told me that this autoshop would do a free performance check for me. I’ve always been worried about my car because previous mechanics have told me that I have a bad transmission or so and so. I find out that my car is perfectly fine and just needs a tune up. They did a great job on it, affordable, and quick! The mechanics were all very helpful and nice, especially Mr. Rojas!

It pains me to leave a negative feedback but if anybody deserves it, this place does. It was typical bait & switch, I brought a transmission in for reseal, it was rebuilt recently and ran perfectly. I was quoted $ 200. Total OTD. I even supplied the parts to reseal it. I get the call that the trans needs a new pump. BS, its new, I tell him I’m coming by to pick up the trans, and its in 100 parts. THIS WAS A RESEAL ! He said his trans mechanic accidently pulled it apart but its all there. I drop it off at a REAL trans shop and they call me back saying parts are missing… great… I return to perf trans and he says it should all be there. I’m screwed. THIS PLACE SUCKS

I took my 1997 Mitsubishi eclipse to Performance like I did to three other places. Not only was he cheap, he was HONEST! My car is a stick-​shift and I knew I had some problems but I really couldn’t afford a new car so opted for the repairs. Turns out there was more wrong that I had originally anticipated. Rojas was flexible and let me buy the part from Auto Zone and bring it in. One of the parts from Auto Zone was broken so he took it back and exchanged it. I felt like I would expect a family member to treat me when my car broke down. I haven’t had any issues with my transmission since. Anytime I have any other problems I can call Rojas and he can give me a honest answer over the phone. Quality work and reasonable rates. Wish there were more businesses out there like this one.

We had our ’98 honda accord coupe ignition switch break down on what turned out to be a factory recall from Honda. We couldn’t have been luckier to have broken down right in the parking lot of Performance Transmission. If you want an HONEST, RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE, and REASONABLY PRICED mechanic then look no further. Our mechanic who helped us out was very very friendly and had the job done within TWO HOURS while the HONDA dealer down the street said wouldn’t have the car even looked at until monday! Our mechanic was so honest he even said ‘take it to HONDA first and see if they will work on it for free before paying me.’ Ultimately we had Performance Transmission do the job and he did awesome. I give PERFORMANCE TRANSMISSION a perfect 5!

On 2007 I took my van to Gilbertos transmission to have it overhauled however it never ran right and when the year was up after taking in several times Gilberto’s said that my guarantee is expired. Now in Sept 2011 I took it to Performance Transmission to have it overhauled again. Ruben was exceptional with great customer service and had pride of his work. I just picked up the car and its shifting correctly. I received One year 12,000mile guarantee. I plan to drive all 12,000miles before the year is up. I wish this shop gets blessed with alot of business and as for Gilberto’s Transmission in Torrance I hope they close there doors.
