Performing Arts Workshops

Love this summer camp! Although expensive you definitely get what you pay for. We’ve now done this camp 2 year in a row and my child loved it equally both times.
My kids have done countless summer camps and after school activities and this was one of the most impressive. The descriptions always make each camp/​activity sound amazing, interactive, lots of learning etc. but rarely do I feel like they live up to their descriptions. PAWS definitely does. Great staff, great kids, a great time. I highly recommend it.

I’d like to start off by saying this rating is solely due to mis-​advertised services and lack of consideration for parents and kids when scheduling.
While searching for a more interactive summer day camp for my 4^th grader, we came across what seemed to be an awesome platform to allow my daughter to express her creativity. Although mixed reviews on multiple locations, I thought at the least 1 week session would tell it all.
I looked for the location nearest my job, and lo and behold there was a suggestion from PAW to register online at any available location. I thought awesome, I’m familiar with the area and I can take care of everything right online. I checked availability for the class we were interested in, confirmed the location which said «Weeks 1 – 8 available», I confirmed again at each page while completing the registration. I selected the available location and class a third time as part of the final registration process and paid the $ 295. I didn’t receive a confirmation email, but I did receive a pop up message confirming my daughter’s enrollment.
It’s an exciting Monday, because my daughter is off to PAW Camp to do what she loves. I’m at the school with no visible signs of kids, camp or staff.
I call the main number in Marina Del Ray, and to my shock «Oh we didn’t get to notify you that there are no classes at this location for Stage Makeup due to your late registration.» Of course completely taken back as I was due in my office in 30 minutes, I looked online again while talking to the very nice (but clueless and careless) Lisa Marie. The class is clearly showing available at all 3 locations in the same area. It allows you to register for each class. I confirm with her and ask, are you sure? She says yes, the ONLY CLASS AVAILABLE is at the West LA location. I asked her was the class available last week at the Redondo Beach location, she said no. So it hasn’t been offered at that location yet the site allows you to register.
She proceeds to tell me that’s a great question to email to the office manager. She’s supposed to update the site. Then asks me if I would like to try another class at another location for Magic or Photography. But if I were interested in the Photography class in El Segundo I’d need to bring my own camera.
I’m sitting there listening in shock even more as she sarcastically states «I don’t know what else to tell you. Most parents call and confirm before bringing their kids» I responded most companies don’t accept payment or advertise something they do not offer. The canned response comes again“That’s great feedback for the office manager, you can email her about it.” I hung up and looked at my daughter with disappointment as I drove back home to solidify a more consistent camp.
As exciting as it sounds, similar to a couple of the other reviews, PAW is not consistent enough, nor do they consider the parents’ work schedules when proper advertising/​updating on your site is neglected.
