This place is a little gem on Catalina. Stores like this are what bring character to the neighborhood. Quit trying to save a buck by going to Bed Bath and Amazon. People that love to cook will love this little place. Nice selection of gadgets and gifts.

Went here specifically to buy a tortilla press. They had two types, I chose one and I’ve been very happy. It works great, eventhough it isn’t cast-iron which is what I was hoping for. Less than $ 30, a friendly and helpful sales lady, and a product that makes corn tortillas thin and round! Score!

You think you need to go Bed Bath and Beyond for the coolest things in cooking? This has it all in one easy to find space. For example: A garlic press? They’ve got this one that looks like a giant gear you twist around and it shreds the garlic way better than those other things, and much easier to clean up. Cookbooks galore. And even a great weeknight cooking class.

«I discovered that when one follows the artist’s eye one sees unexpected treasures in so many seemingly ordinary scenes.» — Julia Child It’s easy to understand why local folks love this store. It’s well-stocked & the displays are beautiful. Service was very friendly and helpful & I was allowed to take a ton of photos today. I noticed cooking gadgets I’d never seen before… like a pancake rake. I was thinking that this would be a perfect place to shop for holiday gifts. And yes, they do sell gift cards & they do gift wrap. If you bake a cake for someone you can get a cake box here. For your cat-loving friends, check out the kitty-print towels & oven mitts. Awwwwww… I had a conversation with the proprietor about the joys of owning high-quality knives. I still use some of my Grandmother’s kitchen knives, passed on first to my Mother & then to me. The wooden handles show indentations of the grips of 3 generations(so far). It’s great to have The Catalina Cooking Store located just down the street in my little village. I can’t think of anything I might need for cooking that I couldn’t find right here. «The more you know, the more you can create. There’s no end to imagination in the kitchen.» — Julia Child

I absolutely LOVE this store. Everyone that works there is sweet and friendly. The inventory is fantastic and although it’s a boutique style shopping experience, I could spend hours in this little gem. One of my favorite reasons to shop and support a small business is knowing each product was carefully hand-picked for a reason. Stores like this are most impressive because you know the array of products are the better choice vs taking a chance and buying random items at a chain store where the sales people typically have no true experience with the products. Nor can they tell you why you should be spending more/less on an item due to quality differences etc. Great inventory, incredible staff and worth the visit. The true appreciation will come from someone that has some solid cooking experience. However you can easily run in and find some well picked randomly needed items for the kitchen!

My girlfriend and I were walking around the Riviera and popped in here without anything in mind to buy. It’s really a nice place. They have all sorts of cookware, spices, rubs, olive oils, balsamic vinegars, etc. Good brands, too(Le Creuset, Stonewall Kitchen, etc). They also have all kinds of cookbooks. We ended up getting a book called Cooking for Two, or something like that, and a balsamic dressing that sounded very tasty, and is made in CA by a CA-based company. I’m also glad to see they have things across a wide spectrum of prices. You can go in and spend just a few bucks on a cookbook or some cooking accessory, or you can spend a few thousand on a high quality cookware set. Definitley a stop if you like cooking and supporting local businesses!

I am very impressed with the knowledge of the staff and owner as well as the quality of the cookware, gifts and cookbooks. Bought a cookbook I had heard about but not found anywhere and have had 3 successful dinner parties with the recipes. Also found unique house gifts for a stay at a friend’s house that were just the right thing.

I love the Catalina Cooking Store in Redondo Beach! Competitively priced and high quality products. I scored a sweet set of salt and pepper mills that were ultra local. Made in the US, owned by a company in Torrance and sold at The Catalina Cooking Store in Redondo Beach — local, local, local(3 points!) Also bought a honeycomb potholder and baking pan for Madeleines here. Now I don’t have to go to Sur la Table for cool stuff and it’s local! Can’t wait to attend one of their cooking events at the store. Definitely worth a stop!

i’ve been there twice with the intention of not really buying anything but after chatting with the staff, I found that there were all sorts of goodies there that would like to be in my kitchen. My wife was very surprised at what amazing taste I had developed after a few visits there. Nice stuff and nice staff
