I recently met up with several work colleagues for happy hour drinks/hors d’oeuvres. We very much enjoyed our time at Angelicas. There were a couple hiccups, however, overall the experience was positive. We were a party of 8 and arrived without a reservation on a Thursday evening @ 530pm. We were seated by a very friendly young lady. Our waitress was very attentive and took our drink orders within a few minutes of seating us. Two of us ordered mojitos. unfortunately, they tasted really strange(the bar tender that the lemon juice was spoiled, which was why they had tasted a bit funky). The waitress promptly took away the drinks offered us replacement drinks at no cost. This is where the hiccup came in… at the end of the evening, after having paid and left the restaurant, I noticed that the charges for the two drinks were not removed off the bill. On a positive note… the ambiance was wonderful, the waitress and bartender were really great and the appetizers were quite good too. Our entire party loved the coconut prawns and beef sliders. I might return here to try out their dinner menu and enjoy the live music. :-)

We have been here twice, both with very weird experiences. The first time, we were pretty much the only people in the entire restaurant. The service was sub par, the meal was expensive, but the food was pretty good. There is a lot of open space, making the restaurant feeling like you are in a cave. I think they turned an old night club into a restaurant. The second time was for dinner, and my wife wanted fish tacos. They have it on their lunch menu, but are not able to make them for dinner. That is all she wanted and I mentioned they had awesome fish tacos, so we ended up leaving and going to Milagros.

Great owner who meets his customers with a smile and a handshake. He cares about the quality of food he serves you. I have gone many times for breakfast. I love the corn beef hash. The brunches they have for special times like Father’s Day are awesome and have a wide variety of food like the what you might find in Vegas but better. My daughter is a picky eater but when it comes to Anglica’s pancakes she can’t get them in her little face fast enough. Ask for a chocolate latte, not on the menu but super yummy! The movie and music nights are fun as well and shouldn’t be missed! I hope my Unilocal review stays posted. Unilocal likes to take down good reviews!

Saturday morning, struggling to find a brunch spot without a line out the door, found Angelica’s. No wait for a table, beautiful patio or indoor seating, attentive service. I had the stuffed French toast and my companion had the salmon crêpe — both knocked our socks off. Great coffee, too. The atmosphere feels a little like you’re breakfasting a night club, but the menu was legit and tasty, so why not?

John, Eric, Ryan, and Carlos are like family. They make amazing drinks and food and take incredible care of every customer that walks through the door. I love this place. I make a point to bring family and friends here so they can experience it for themselves. Amazing!

We went here for Mothers Day brunch and it was wonderful! The main entrees exceeded my expectations and the mimosas were never ending. Service was also very friendly and prompt. Almost made 5 stars but some of the desserts ran out(what was there was good).

We have gone to this place a couple times for dinner and were a little confused by the music next door. The brunch however, is to die for! It starts with homemade fresh scones and homemade marmalade. Then our waitress’s recommended the corn beef hash. She wasn’t wrong. I think my day got 20xs better after eating it. It’s a very large dish, but should be good to save for later in the day. The ambiance of outside is great too. Listening to the fountain, sitting sunder the tree, and with just enough sun shinning through.

I am a connoisseur of breakfast joints, and this place by far is my favorite. The chilaquiles keep me coming back but they’ve got other amazing offerings on the menu. They also have a secret back patio space that is awesome to sit in outside when the weather is nice. Seriously, check this place out. It will be worth your breakfast while.

Brought company for Pete’s Tuesday open mic. The staff were pleasant, helpful and we enjoyed participating and listening to the various performing artists. Will have to come back sometime for the Songwriter’s Workshop(same host). We ordered two hot teas, as there are typically minimums for open mic events hosted in restaurants. Expecting to be charged more for these goods, we were surprised when the waiter charged the typical amount. This experience was great for us and we hope to be back again soon.

We came here with a large group for a birthday brunch on a Saturday. We got there at around noon and it was basically empty. The area was really cute and the ivy covered walls outside were begging to be the backdrop to a fashion blogger’s Sunday brunch Insta post. It was basically empty when we got there, but our service was still pretty slow – I’m assuming because of the size of our group. We did bottomless($ 13) and they were fairly attentive once we got them, but it took a little while to initially get our glasses. The ambience inside is a little strange – you can definitely tell that it’s meant to be a dinner place because of the stage and the dark walls. They give complimentary biscuits and jam which were very delicious, but we didn’t get them until we got our food. They literally brought them out at the same time, which was kind of weird. Because there were so many of us, it’s understandable that some people’s food took a little longer to come out, but our chilaquiles were basically cold when we got them. The waitress was very kind when we asked if she could heat the plate up again, though. The chilaquiles were very interesting. Instead of soaking the tortillas in the sauce they just kind of layered everything on top of each other. It wasn’t bad, everything was still delicious, but definitely different. The pancakes were also good. We were celebrating a birthday so we also got the Chocolate Indulgence, which was basically just chocolate pudding, so I would recommend if you’re looking for something very rich and decadent! Towards the middle of the slice it got a little cakier, but those first bites were like silk. All in all, this place was average and it was nice to celebrate the birthday because we could all hear each other, but I personally wouldn’t have chosen it.

This is for the Happy Hour… next time we’ll try their brunch! The wifey and me decided to try Angelica’s for HH– especially after a long day at work. Not busy at all– which had me worried a little but fear not… their drinks are pretty good and their appetizers on the HH menu were pretty tasty. I decided to stick to having Margaritas, while my wife is currently on the Moscow Mule kick. Both are good and between $ 5 – 6 dollars. The bartender suggested the wings and we also ordered the pulled pork sliders. I loved the wings and my wife inhaled the sliders. We also received complementary bread which almost always puts a smile on my face– especially when it’s warm. Great to say we’ll keep Angelica’s in mind for future HH’s and we’ve gotta try their brunch sometime soon!

Hubby and I went to Angelica’s for Valentines Day. We were greeted by our friendly host, Peter, who was very helpful. We thought we’d sit inside so we could hear the Jazz, but the club part of the restaurant was sold-out. Good for them! But bad for us. Clearly, I did not do my research. Anywho, Peter brought us upstairs to a room, which had the feel of a small cafeteria or classroom… Or a room in a catering company in which they store all the tables and chairs. You get the idea. Peter(I really hope his name is Peter) patiently and amiably moved us outside to the patio. I recommend eating there when/if you visit Angelica’s. The patio is so charming. Twinkling lights and a fountain. You cannot tell this little fairyland exists from the storefront. Our server was a little green, but perfectly nice. He messed up our drink order(didn’t bother me, but hubby was a bit annoyed) and he wasn’t attentive. Not terrible, but definitely not fine dining. And the drinks were fine. I wouldn’t have cocktails if I were you, but the wine/beer menu was good. While we were waiting for our food, though, one of the servers sat outside and had a good, loud conversation on her phone. Girl gotta plan her weekend, ok? Again, not terrible, but absolutely not fine dining. Now for din din! My beet salad was good, but I loved my purple sweet potato gnocchi. What an original and delicious idea! Plated well with crispy kale chips. I know it sounds odd, but it was so so good. Hubby liked his calamari starter, but didn’t finish his lobster salad. He said the lobster was bouncy. We ended with the crème brûlée for dessert. Perfectly fired and topped with a strawberry rose. Our spoons happily cracked the butter brown top. So, overall an inconsistent, but A-Okay experience. As long as you ignore the«fine dining» part of Angelica’s Fine Dining Bar and Entertainment, you won’t be disappointed.

Came here yesterday with family for brunch. AMBIANCE/SERVICE: Adorable patio for warmer weather — can’t wait to come back to check that out. BUT the inside was way too dark for a brunch spot and the place was dead quiet, where was the background music?! So weird. Our server was non-existant, never filled waters or offered new mimosas and drinks. Had to flag down a random server whenever they walked by. Little miss hostess also looked like she absolutely hated life, and her«Pink» Victoria Secret sweatshirt was a bit unprofessional. Food: Absolute 5 stars — so yummy. Although some people in our group complained that their dishes weren’t even close to being warm. Prices are also incredibly reasonable, but we do live in SF so we’re used to 12 dollar mimosas and 17 dollar burgers… ugh.

I very much enjoy coming here. Peter is a great guy, very accommodating, bright & talkative. I’ve started to bring my group of friends here and they seem to love it just as much. The front patio entranceway is gorgeous, they just did a ton of remodeling the past few seasons. Angelicas has a small bar in front, i always order a glass of Franziskaner as this is the only place in Redwood City that has it on tap year round. The bartenders are friendly, I’ve had mix ups over bills in the past but they helped work them out, which I feel most other places wouldn’t do. I’ve brought people here for the live music/dinner ticket on the main stage, what a great experience that was. It can be difficult finding live music on a more professional scale anywhere around the Peninsula. It’s worth a night out with a loved one or someone you are dating. The back patio is great for groups at anytime of day or night because every table has its own heat lamp. Angelicas also offers an upstairs balcony area which overlooks the main stage and they do allow you to go up there and chill out with drinks or food to watch the show, although I don’t know if you have to buy a ticket or not(not sure about the house rules on this). We were told by a waitress that we could go upstairs anytime we want. The bathrooms are always in pristine condition as well, this is very important for a successful business. Overall I can’t find any reason why Angelicas wouldn’t deserve 5 stars.

We went for the first time on Thursday night with some friends before seeing the Beach Boy’s at the Fox. Everyone was so nice and the food was really good. The guys can be hard to please, but they loved it and would go back for sure. We are going to try it for breakfast soon. We hear they serve a great breakfast.

This is my favorite brunch spot in the Redwood City area! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but the ambiance — especially in the patio out back — make up for it. When you first walk in, there’s a lovely alleyway full of plenty of plants and flowers and beautiful green vines that run up the walls. The patio matches this type of lush and vintage décor, so sit there if it’s not too cold. The dishes are prepared with the utmost attention to detail, and everyone at my table commented on the presentation of the food. The shopped fruit adds color to the meal. I recommend the eggs benedict, salmon scrambled eggs and the bottomless mimosas. You don’t be dissatisfied. Great place for a special brunch!

Came to Angelica’s for brunch with my friends — after a night out on the town. We were seated right away as the place was pretty empty. We started with the bottomless mimosas — for $ 13 it was a pretty solid deal. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the veggie omelet and added mushroom and avocado. The omelet was a good portion for the price. I really enjoyed the rainbow potatoes that came with the omelet. They had a nice mixture of sweet and savory and complemented the veggie omelet well.

Wow. Is exactly what I said when we walked through the side to get to Angelica’s. It was so beautiful, little garden décor with a Christmas tree and Christmas music playing. We come in, immediately get greeted by the hostess who also sat us and took our order. I requested tea for my drink and she mentioned in was a green tea pomegranate, I said that’s fine. When she brought it I was completely blown away, so delicious! When it came time for the menu I could hardly decide as there are so many options. My fiancé ended up getting the monte crisco and I got the cornbeef hash per the waitress suggestion. First bite I took, awe man, it was the best, my mouth was literally drooling it was so good! So I go to mix everything together and that was my mistake :(the other side of my meal was completely burned so now every bite just tasted like burnt hash browns. My mistake! We will definitely be back, I have fallen in love with this little gem!

Held a brunch here for my moms 60th birthday for a group of about 25 people. Spoke with Angelica herself regarding our reservation and she was so helpful and easy to work with. We were able to create a customized menu that she prepared for us for our event. The service was great and the food was good, too. It looks like they have live entertainment at times too which would be cool to check out sometime.

Angelicas is SO cute. Beyond cute. The outdoor seating is spectacular. If you forget that you are in Redwood City, you’d think you’re in a European alley. I love all the lights and furniture(stunning!), and there are plenty of heat lamps to keep you warm on a chilly night. We just popped in for an appetizer, but my friends come here all the time and love it. I would love to come back for a meal, although the prices are pretty high. I enjoyed the atmosphere quite a bit!

I review on behalf of my colleagues! We ordered Angelicas catering through a 3rd party vendor. Although I didn’t personally choose this restaurant after seeing some of the dishes I wish I had! The food ingredients were fresh. The presentation was great from a catering perspective. Our staff had great comments about taste, freshness and quantity! We’ll definitely have Angelicas in our cycle of restaurants.

My wife and I went to dinner here Saturday night about 6:30. This was our second visit. We were very disappointed. The only thing good was the greeting. Everything else –the staff, the food, the service — was sub-par, almost amateurish. Our server was not professional and came across disingenuous. We both ordered salads. Hers was over dressed. Mine was under dressed. The lettuce in both was stale — very stale. She ordered the lamb chops. I ordered the sole. Hers came with jalapeños in the sauce(really?) and the polenta had Brie cheese on top which did not cover its poor taste. My sole was cooked in a parchment pouch swimming in with what basically was marinara, but of course that’s not how it was described on the menu. Perhaps the entertainment is good here, but if you want good food and good service look elsewhere.

We had lunch and the food was excellent. I had the lamb tacos and my husband had the fish and chips. The batter was very light — the best I ever tasted. The lamb tacos were perfectly served as well– all meat no fat! Everything was carefully prepared and tasty. Compliments to the chef! It really exceeded my expectations! I would rate the food 4.5 stars … Couldn’t have been any better. I save the other half star for places with the most creative or diverse menu offering. Our server was extremely friendly. I would definitely come back!

Came here on a whim while walking around Redwood City last weekend. We got a table for 2 outside, which was right by a heat lamp so we were very comfortable. The ambiance is great on the outdoor patio– white lights strung across overhead, giant mirrors, and little white fountains. The service was good, too. I only took away one star because the waitress didn’t know the ingredients in a couple items on the menu– specifically she didn’t know if they were gluten free. However, she was very prompt in finding out from the chef and offered up a few alternatives. The food was delicious! I had the Shepherds pie, sans bread, and loved it. I would definitely come back.

There are very few live entertainment, restaurant/bars around Redwood City. We have had several not-so-good experiences with Angelicas in the past and it had been a while since we had been there. Why not try it again? The service is consistently terrible with rude staff. They charged us $ 6 for a cranberry juice. The food was slightly better than school cafeteria food. The Mother’s Day Brunch we tried last year was a joke. I apologized to my wife for ruining here Mother’s Day. She’s a good sport though and laughed. The crowd here are clearly regulars and the staff like it that way. They don’t want you there. So don’t go.

Pleasantly surprised! Here on a brief business trip and fell in love with charming Main Street, Redwood City. We were the only diners seated on the second floor(felt a little weird at first), due to the jazz cover charge being played on the first floor. The Bruschetta was excellent, full of fresh flavor. The Flat Iron Steak was perfectly done to a medium rare, served over beautiful mushrooms with young carrots. Presentations were wonderful, as was the service. Will visit again, when back in the area and stay for the show next time!

Sadly my review is not based on the food just the service. I did not even get to try the food. I have seen Angelica’s a lot walking around Redwood City. I have never gone in though. On Saturday night my husband and I decided to try it out. It was late and one of the few places open and as a bonus they had a live band going. We went to the hostess desk and asked for a table for 2. Immediately the hostess said she would not seat us because of my dog. However, I said that he is a service dog(had his vest on and everything) and can go with me anywhere(sometimes I have to remind people which is no big deal.) She then made a comment about if he was going to pee on the carpet, which I said no. He has been with me for my diabetes for 8 years and never once had an accident at a public place or home for that matter. She then asked me for this documentation which I did not have on me, I just brought my wristlet out with me this particular night and not my whole purse. She then proceeded to just stare at him as he was laying at my feet. Then another staff member came by and she whispered something to him and they both starred at him. At this point we just left. Sad.

Pluses: Went for Mother’s Day brunch. +Gentleman who took our reservations, and I think, the same person who greeted and seated us, was welcoming, friendly, and gracious! +The buffet had a nice selection — I don’t eat red meat so the roasted vegetables, smoked salmon, and salad selections were appreciated +One female server, not ours, was warm and hospitable +Nice outdoor seating area — those tables were filled but looked like a nice place to sit if we were to return Reason for 3 stars: –Buffet didn’t seem to be regularly tended to; some dishes were sparse, not quickly replenished or refreshed(oysters were great, but they did not replenish them at all). –Dessert table lost its appeal – looked nice from a distance but when you got there, the cheesecake was almost gone with smashed pieces, as was similar with other plates –I didn’t eat from the carving station, but my husband did and said the meat was on the tough side –Mimosas were included in the price, but coffee and tea were not. –Lastly, our waiter was pretty non-existent. We had to wave other servers down for drink refills, etc.

Brunch was wonderful! 1st bite of the calamari made us all simultaneously go, «mmmmmm!»! Has artichoke, lemon wheels, and jalapeños mixed in! My eggs Benedict were delightful! The pancakes… Fluffy! Bacon…cooked to perfection. My wife’s egg white omelette disappeared effortlessly! The presentation was very colorful and neat. French 75 was refreshing and sparkly! Coffee was not too bitter. Staff was on point and friendly. Our new brunch spot!
