We had quite a few of 8 mm reels that dated back 60+ years and wanted to convert them to DVD. There are not many local places that do this type work that I could find. Others that I called would project it against a screen or wall and point a video camera at it. Fortunately I found AV Workshop which does it right with high quality equipment. They clean and prep the film before they start the conversion. When I dropped off the reels, I got a tour of the shop and even was shown some sample work. We opted to go with Blu-​Ray for the highest quality and the results were excellent. Not grainy or washed out colors, they really look great!
I highly recommend AV Workshop for any conversion work!

These guys do great work! I had several old Super 8 and VCR movies transferred to DVD, as well as some old slides and negatives. They were done wonderfully well. I appreciate the loving care they show for precious memories.

I had a great experience at the Audio Video Workshop. My father’s family movies from the early 1950s were beautifully transferred. I was able to see these wonderful memories on both my Mac Laptop as well as on my large screen TV. The only thing that would have made these even more perfect, is if there was also some music to go with the visual; however, that is too much to ask and I did not even think of that.
In short, I highly recommend their service and would go back again. I am recommending Audio Video Workshop to my friends who also have old movies that can not be viewed anymore since projectors are not readily available.

Scott and his crew are great! They digitized 40 – 50 year old slides and 50 – 70 year old movies for us. Of course, some were degraded too far beyond saving, but the rest are beautiful! They cleaned them, corrected some of the color and light. We couldn’t be more pleased. Now all these memories are preserved for the kids and cousins. Prompt service, friendly, reasonable.

I’ve been going to Audio Video workshop for years, and they have managed to perfectly convert the oldest, most out of date media (imagine an old 78 LP from 1948, or old reel to reel audio tapes, not to mention every possible kind of film from the 50s and 60s), into the most up to date digital media for me. They are really nice, friendly, fast, and professional.

I called Convoy, a local San Francisco Bay Area Home IT support company which I found on Google. I couldn’t get help from Geek Squad due to «seasonal increases in business» and my problem needed immediate assistance because it was related to a connection with my home alarm system. So after 2 days with no help from the Geeks I found a company on Google and called Convoy. They came right away and fixed my problem and taught me several things. Anthony was professional, intelligent, and very patient. I will definitely use Convoy again.
I will now cancel my contract with the Geeks if I can get through their system and attempt to get a refund and cancel my contract. Wish me luck. Donna from Piedmont.

Second time I’ve used AV Workshop, this time to pull something off an old Beta tape. They did a great job.
The first job I had them do was to repair and transfer an old VHS tape. I can still do that type of transfer at home, but this particular tape kept jamming when I tried the transfer. So I took it in and I seem to recall they may have «baked» it to get it unstuck.
Anyway, love the results.
