I went there in the afternoon for a beer and some pool with a friend. It was empty except for one guy who seemed like a regular. The bartender was nice and spoke English (El Zarape is definitely a very Latino spot). Good beer on tap ($ 4/​pint for Stella). I did not try the food. Wierdly, there was either no music or very loud music at any given time (either Mexican stuff of ‘90s Santana).
As a place to play pool in the afternoon, it was great. Three tables in decent condition (they’re coin operated — $ 1/​game), and no waiting since the place was empty.
In all, definitely a good place for pool and beer. It seems to get going Friday and Saturday nights; I have no idea what the scene’s like then. A provisional «3 stars.» Recommended.
