Makeup by Chez Murphy

Having your makeup done for a special event doesn’t get any better, friendly or more fun than Chez Murphy. Enough said. But I’ll say more! :)
Chez did my makeup for my wedding day. For a bit of context: I am not into makeup. I wear very little and don’t fuss in front of the mirror, ever. I was dreading having to deal with wedding makeup and didn’t want to look like anyone other than my natural self. At the same time I knew having a bit of extra color would add a nice touch to our celebrations.
Enter Chez: she worked her magic, and I could not have been happier! I got a natural look that was even better in photos. Nothing looked artificial or «made up» — just happy and natural, with a bit of extra sparkle. (My now-​husband loved it too. :))
What’s more, Chez is simply fun to be around. Our time together was stress-​free and joyful — exactly in line with how I’d dreamed my wedding day would be.
I would recommend Chez in a heartbeat to everyone. Thanks again, Chez — you are fabulous!

Chez did did my fiancée’s makeup for the day she (my fiancée, of course) became my wife. As a guy, I clearly don’t know much about makeup, but I do know about its effects, and I can report that Chez did beautiful work. I would recommend her in an instant.
Not that my wife needed a boost or anything — you get the idea. Gosh, it’s hard to write Unilocal reviews sometimes!

Chez did FANTASTIC makeup for my wedding! I recommend her wholeheartedly– but let me say first that another reason I recommend her is she is extremely responsive and communicative. I needed bridal makeup on short notice, and I felt completely at ease because she is a great communicator. To me, this is a must for any vendor to receive a five star rating.
I had decided I wanted a little bit of an old-​hollywood look with very red lips. I wavered about going with more of the standard for «bridal» makeup but wanted a bold statement that worked with my dress. Chez offered great advice and direction, and ultimately made the perfect selections for my look! I look back at photos and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I loved the work so much for my wedding that Chez came back and did the makeup for my best friend’s wedding. My best friend wanted a much more natural bridal look, and Chez did a wonderful job for her as well. Chez is very talented and versatile, so whatever the look, I am certain she can make you look gorgeous!

Like the post below, I am not much of a makeup person. For my wedding, I decided to go with a professional. After many Internet searches and deadened phone calls, I came in contact with Chez. From the beginning, I could tell she was very personable and professional. We had two makeup trials prior to the wedding, which helped me figure out the makeup style I desired for the big day.
On the day of the wedding, she traveled to the location I was getting ready at and did a beautiful job. She was also able to do the makeup of two of my bridesmaids (who also loved the results). Her pricing is more than reasonable and her easy going personality makes her great to work with. I will definitely use her in the future for any special events requiring professional makeup and will net hesitate to refer her services.

I’m not much of a makeup person, and neither is my mom, so I decided early on that it would be worth it to have someone do my makeup and my mom’s for my wedding in June. I found Chez through Project Wedding, and I really liked that the makeup in her pictures showed people looking good, but not overly made-​up. That is the perfect description of what she did for my wedding, and I couldn’t have been happier.
Chez was really easy to work with and to talk to – I felt like I was talking to a friend more than a hired consultant. She made me feel really comfortable with makeup, and even did the same with my mom. My mom said that she felt like she wasn’t wearing any makeup at all, which was amazing given that my mom had recently fallen and had some severe bruising and bumps on her face that needed covering. My mom also got a makeup lesson, since Chez explained what she was doing along the way.
The makeup definitely lasted — my eyes still looked great the next morning!
Chez offers some extra services that I took her up on – I had her do the makeup for my engagement photo shoot so I could see how it photographed (result: it was wonderful). I also had her meet me at the mall and help me pick out makeup that I could use in my everyday look.
I couldn’t have been happier with everything, and I appreciated as well that Chez was affordable, even with all of the «extras.»
