I had a custom job to use my car’s built-​in subwoofer with a new stereo. I told Leo what I wanted and his recommendation was perfect! I have a new system that sounds amazing and the installation was CLEAN. There’s a great restaurant/​café at Main and Elm a couple blocks away and a Starbucks across the street to visit while you wait. I was also impressed with how quickly they got the job done. I’ll send my whole family to Monney Car Audio if they ever need a new system.

I wanted to get a new CarPlay and Android Auto compatible radio installed in my 2008 Prius, and ended up going to Monney Audio. I had a great experience. Leo was a huge help in identifying the right model for me, quickly handling a great, seamless installation, and helping me learn all the new features. If you’re looking for any sort of car stereo upgrade, especially one for your iPhone or Android device, I’d highly recommend Leo and Monney Audio.

I wanted my car soundproofed (they just don’t make them like they used to!). Leo did a great job, adding extra material to be sure I got the most outside noise suppression. He also added a blue tooth to my existing audio system and new speakers. I can’t believe how much better it is; I can enjoy the sounds I want IN my car without the distraction of outside noises. The job was professionally done and delivered on time. I can’t recommend Monney Car Radio more highly.

Had a great experience having a Bluetooth kit installed in my car. The original unit failed and the promptly replaced it. Very friendly.

I sing when I’m alive: when I’m in love, when I’m abandoned, dejected, transcendent, spiritual, craving, happy, sad, ecstatic, depressed, creative, horny, peaceful or just looking around. But, I need a loud back up band to sing with to make it work just right. So, when the battery in my truk went dead a few months ago and I realized I lost the manual to it and with it the code to the crappy stereo that comes in a Chevy, it was muted torture to go through all of those states in a matter of months combined, with no stereo in the car at all. Pitiful is what it was. I tried for a good while to make do with ear buds and a wireless speaker and finally caved to a long term solution and called up Monney to get some serious sound in my truck, the day before 4^th of July weekend. A wall of sound is what I needed and what I would have. It was cool to see Monney’s new digs and chat with the owner about the trials and tribulations of life, women and song. That is, after all, what it’s all about. Only the added advantage of coming to the new location is you get to drool over all the blazing hot cars in the garage he shares the space with.

I found Monney through Unilocal and am happy to say I had a really good expierence with this quality and friendly expert in the car audio business. Leo and his team took great care of me, even lending me use of his car so I could attend an important meeting because instead of rushing my install– they took great care of doing it right. They did a super job installing the top model Pioneer 8100 NEX system in my convetable and took care on placement of jacks, microphone, and gps antenna. They cleaned up my interior well and fixed some issues I had prior to comming in. A+++ service. The system works and sounds great. I will return when it’s time to upgrade the amp and speakers.

Monney Car Stereo did a great job on my car. Leo (the owner) was very helpful with suggestions and options. If you need to wait, there’s a Starbucks across the street as well as a number of restaurants nearby.
I’ll definitely use them again.

Leo and his guys did a great job completely replacing the tweeters, mids, and sub in my Nissan 370z. I bought all the parts myself, attempted to install it and failed, deciding to then get it professionally done. The lifetime warranty on the labor he provides is awesome. After a year a connection came loose and I was able to bring it back and he sorted it out. Several months after that, part of the amp went bad and the sound cut out completely. I brought it in again, and he replaced the faulty part for free.

My partner and I had recently picked up a vehicle and were not satisfied with the lack of navigation and poor quality of the sound system. We went shopping on a Sunday with the intent to alleviate this. Our first stop was to a Best Buy. This proved fruitless. The inventory was minuscule, the service was poor and overall I left feeling invisible. We then stopped at Monney and we were trying to find the entrance when a man in the parking lot was working on his boat asked if he could help us. We told him that we were looking for Monney Car Audio. As it turns out it was closed on Sunday’s, but the man happily opened his shop for us and showed us all of the units and helped us pick the unit best for us based on our needs and preferences. He also arranged to have our truck picked up from our residence or place of work the next morning for instillation and then dropped of wherever we wanted it afterward.
I can hardly say enough about how fantastic the service was. And as it turns out, the man who helped us out that day when the store was closed was Mr. Monney himself. Obviously service is a top down priority here. Thank you for the wonderful customer service experience.

Had a horrible experience with this installer. +$ 5k sound system in an exotic car and it never worked right. Amp kept cutting out, fuses blowing, and speakers then blowing. I replaced a sub on my own because they were slow to respond, they added a fan (which is crazy), then larger fuses.
After taking it back several times and having to leave the car every time, I took it to another installer in SF.
They found the problem right away. Inadequate power lines going to the amp were used causing all the issues above. A very basic requirement and quick fix if you know what you are doing. Sounded like a completely different system and so sad this supposed long term shop could not get this right.
BTW, was dealing directly with the owner Leo on all of this. Audio Symphony in SF is awesome! They get it right the first time!

Best price, service and so easy. Leo, the owner greeted me when I drove up, Alfredo determined that my stereo was shot and it was instantly replaced; all with a smile! I was in and out
As happy as can be in no time! Drove over fr Half Moon Bay and would do it again without a doubt.

What impressed me most about Monney Car Audio was Leo Monney’s integrity.
About a year ago, I took my BMW 5-​series in to get a Mobridge installed. Leo’s team couldn’t get it working, but he was committed enough to try to solve it by engaging two other nearby shops to help, who also couldn’t make it work. (Later, I took it to yet another local shop — which has 5-​star reviews on Unilocal — that also couldn’t make it work, so it’s pretty clear to me there’s something weird about my car.)
Because of the challenges, Leo’s efforts took longer than anticipated, and he arranged for a rental car for me at a cost to himself. Ultimately, since it didn’t work he agreed to give me a refund. He couldn’t refund the entire amount upfront so he did it in stages, but he made it happen even though ultimately he lost quite a bit of money on the whole affair.
Leo behaved with integrity and professionalism throughout. He always took or returned my phone calls promptly and honored his word and his commitment to the customer (me), even though it was costly to him. I would be glad to give him my business again.

I was referred to this company by my Lexus dealership (they were highly recommended). So happy that they were. I needed a USB cable put in for my iPod and I also needed to use the touch screen to navigate through my playlists etc. Everything was done to my complete satisfaction. A gentleman named Leo did everything to make sure that I walked away happy: mission accomplished…

I had stopped by their old location when I had an old car, and the guy right away told me I needed to put oil in my car, he could tell from the sound of the engine… checked the oil and it was out… so I thought these people must know cars… I found them at this new location when I wanted my Bluetooth hooked up… they had it done the same day for a very fair price. I feel like I got very good service

This place is awesome! It’s the place to go if you want knowledgeable great service, quality work in a timely manner and all at a great cost!
I stopped in to ask a quick question, I was explained that all I needed was a simple adapter from the apple store. They were honest plus not pushy or sales focused… That made me look at an upgrade on my stereo. This place has a lot to offer if you really want to make some upgrades. I had very little time and a nice car that I don’t let just anyone work on. I got to see the work done and in minutes I was out with a new car stereo that ROCKS! Thanks Monney Car Audio! I look forward to my return for a few more upgrades.

I had quite an experience at this place. The guy who «helped» me was Chris.
So I wanted to get a head unit and speakers installed in my Town and Country van. His first quote for a Pioneer head unit along with two pairs of speakers was something obscene, around 600 dollars. He was charging me twice the price of the head unit and about the same on the speakers.
I politely pointed out that the price on the head unit was a bit high, and asked him if he could do better. He said he could do it for 475, which still seemed pretty high, but I wanted to just get a decent sound system in the car, so I said yes.
Now, if they had done an honest job, I wouldn’t have written this review. Here’s what happened next. After he told me the job was done, I got in the car and noticed a few very peculiar things. The manual was tattered, torn around the edges. Then I noticed that there was a thin layer of dust lining the inside of the CD player. I took the faceplate off and examined it carefully. It was undoubtedly used, and god knows for how long.
I showed them to Chris, and asked him to show me the packaging. He started muttering as he walked back to the stock room and grabbed a new box. He took the faceplate from me and took a new one out of the box and plastic bag along with a new manual. So not only had the Pioneer been marked up by double, he tried to sell me a used car stereo! That is some real audacity.
If I was an average consumer, I might not have noticed them trying to pull a fast one on me. They picked the wrong guy; I am a professional audio engineer and musician that buys and sells things on Craigslist all the time, so I know what *used* looks like.
After reading my review (and all the other horror stories), if you still want to go in there, may god help you.

I seriously don’t get the hate, but I suppose that’s because I had a pretty positive experience (after all of the communication breakdown issues were resolved).
I had some Hertz speakers seemingly blow in my car and was at my wits end trying to find an authorized dealer that would finally get back to me and fix my system. After a bit of phone tag, I was able to finally speak with Leo who set aside some time to have me bring my car in overnight.
Keep in mind: I was desperate. He probably could have taken me for $ 600+ easy for new speakers, but after keeping the car overnight, he found that it was a manufacturing error in the crossovers and not the speakers themselves. The subwoofer was shot, but this wouldn’t be the first time (need a new box, methinks).
He repaired the crossovers (both of them) and replaced the subwoofer and I got out of there for about $ 250. He explained exactly what happened and was totally chill with my utter frustration.
If I need any more work or upgrades, I’m definitely going to be returning here.

I had a 2 day crunch to get a car stereo as a birthday gift. Being new to the Bay Area this was my first trip to Monney’s. I hate shopping but if every retail experience was like Monney’s, then I would LOVE shopping!
Store owner Leo was so helpful. He is knowledgable, informative, and patient. He asked for details of what I was looking for and provided exactly that. He had it installed the same day and I was on my way well before my deadline! The prices are fair and the customer service awesome. I will go to Monney’s for all my car audio needs!

Leo the owner assisted me throughout the process of replacing my dying double din with a more modern, super bells and whistles unit from JVC.
Even after there were some technical issues AFTER I drove away, Leo did everything to ensure I was satisfied.
This is not your usual «retail» outlet. Leo is very up-​front with his customers (matter of factly) and it may make some people feel a bit strange. However, I really appreciated it! He didn’t waste my time and got me what I needed!

I had a great experience with this place. Really, just as perfect for service as you can get.
I stopped in on a Monday and explained that I had just purchased a car and really wanted iPhone integration. The owner let me walk around and browse to get a feel for the place without sales pressure.
After telling him what I wanted, he gave me a nice low-​priced simple solution. Kind of a «start here» solution. It was pretty inexpensive, but I wanted to find out what other options there were, and if I could possibly afford a killer system.
I was walked through all the options all the way up to the top of the line. I can’t emphasize enough how «no-​pressure» there was on this. There was no BS «you need this» or «you have to add that». He listened to the things that mattered to me, and finally suggested a couple of different models for me to chose from. Not once did he try to upscale me on things I didn’t want or need. For example, the speakers were just fine.
I asked how soon I could get it installed, and he said I could come by the next morning at 10am for same day service. This was great, and I told him I wanted to do my homework and come back if still interested. Still no pressure, he said I could come by or call if I had any questions.
I did a ton of research. I printed out everything I wanted and what the cheapest prices were online. I read online reviews on the products I was interested in, and all the tips and tricks for getting the best out of them.
The next day I returned, much later than when I said I would, and he greeted me warmly. We went over the pricing, and everything seemed perfectly fair and reasonable. My car is a Mercedes, so I really wanted to make sure the work done was first rate.
Here’s where they really deserve a top score: He knew all the insides and outs of both my car and of the stereo. All the research I had done online that was very specific to my car and stereo was all stuff he knew like the back of his hand. I can’t emphasize how important this is. You can have your equipment installed by someone who’s reading the instructions, or you can have it installed by someone who not only reads the instructions but also researches online all the details and issues others have had and has done enough work to know how to do things right. Monney does.
I had other equipment I wanted pulled. Monney was able to do this and still have the car look like new. I really appreciated the attention to detail here.
Although I was really late, it wasn’t a problem. I was offered a ride and a rental car while they worked on it. When I returned, the stereo was perfectly installed without problem and Leo himself went through how the stereo works and waited to see if I had any questions. One problem was with my iPhone itself (Bluetooth), and he knew how to resolve it quickly.
I couldn’t be happier with all of this.
The quality of the work was top-​notch.
The in and out was incredibly fast.
They were very knowledgable and friendly.
The *total* price for what I got was better than what I found when I shopped around.
The bottom line, is that there’s a reason why this shop has been so successful in this location as long as it has.
