The whole process was really smooth. Carlos arrived at the parking lot outside my office and finished the job in 20 min. He also vacuumed my carpets and cleaned my windows which was a huge plus. Now I know who to call if my windshield ever cracks again!

Horrible! They sent an incompetent technician to repair a tiny 0.25″ crack and now I have to replace the whole windshield! Stay away!

If you’re thinking about replacing your glass from anybody else except Safelite, And that’s when you’ve already made your first mistake. two weeks ago I called Saflite Saturday Late afternoon because a GOD DAMN ROCK, came shooting out of this 18 wheelers fat ass and hit my car square between the eyes. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR, and I was MEETING THIS HOT BLONDE who Obviously looks like they base there decision to sleep with you depends on if you look like you make more than $ 80,000 a year. Got on the horn with these guys and spoke to Matt. This guy was fucking awesome, not only did he fix my shit clean my car and put a complimentary fabreeze for the final touch, but he was cool and showed me things to look for. MOST IMPORT I got laid. SHIT ! This Mutha fucker was for the lack of a better word, THE FUCKING MAN, this generation nowadays are DUmb, ignorant retards with no hands on skill common sense, or PEOPLE SKILL! AND, it’s a Godman relieve to find a young individual who takes pride in his work, witch tells you he puts pride in everything he does. This is an individual who can pick any job out of a hat no matter what it is, would be a asset towards that company, GOOD KID.

There are not enough words for my appreciation and gratitude for the service I received by your staff. My pre-​planned trip to Southern CA was to plant a seasonal garden for my 83 year old aunt dealing with chemotherapy and Alzheimer’s husband with ²⁴⁄₇ caregiver maintaining his comfort at home for as long as feasible. It goes without saying another day would of been disappointing to my aunt, and change the original plan for my trip in the van loaded with plants was not feasible.
On the morning of October 21, 2015, I was driving my husband to an appointment and unexpectedly discovered a long crack in the windshield on the passenger side of my 2005 Sienna. I was in total disbelief and upset with its untimely reality with this road trip planned for Los Angeles leaving early the following day. After his appointment, I drove directly to Chestnut Street Safelite Autoglass in Redwood City location with silent prayers I would be able to replace on the same day.
To first encounter upon arriving the store completely insane crazy with now the street blocked with city repairs literally blocking the street off completely impossible for entering from any direction. Determination, and admittedly desperate with no time to research where would I next try, I flagged the street repair workers to let me get thru the barricade.
Finally, I am politely greeted with a warm, calm smile and pleasant initial «How can we help you today?» Explaining my situation, Sunny kindly stated reality there was no chance of replacing on same day — his guys were all booked for the day and the way it works with windshields being pre-​ordered. Deciding too upset, shook with the trip on my mind and not willing to risk driving 6 hours to LA with cracked windshield, best to sit down and call the headquarters to find out if there was any other options and used lobby waiting area to make this call instead of driving off and being unsafe stressed and driving.
By the time I had hung up with now a scheduled last available appointment for Thursday morning 9:30 AM, I felt grateful and hung up.
Saying goodbye to Sunny and I said «see you tomorrow in the morning, then Sunny asked me to wait a minute.
He came back a couple of minutes later and said to please wait and he would take care of it immediately. I burst into tears and hugged him! He shared there just happened to be my exact same windshield in the garage waiting for a customer scheduled for Friday! He knew mine was coming in for the repair the next day so he pulled his off site mobile service tech installer Kalani to replace my windshield right there in the center of the driveway! Sunny even helped him with replacing the windshield!
I was ready to drive away by 12:15 pm!
The service with all of the staff is impressive teamwork and standout off the charts customer treated kindly, politely and friendly. Adding the attention to details and committment to the end result is also outstanding. You have a commendable top notch team in Redwood City.

Last Friday our windshield got hit with a rock on our trip to Santa Barbara and on the way home it spread in an arch to 4 feet. I called AAA on Monday and they transferred me to Safelite AutoGlass who gave me an appt. on Thursday (today). I don’t know why a mobile service wasn’t offered, we’ve had that before and it’s so convenient (this location was a half hr. drive). I dropped off the car and was told it would be a 1.5 to 2 hrs. wait. Everyone there was friendly and efficient. I came back 2 hrs. later and they said it would still be another half hour because of the lunch break they took. I’m all for lunch breaks, but just tell me upfront what the wait time truly is. Anyway, our windshield looks good and is holding up well. Tips: I was told not to wash the car for a few days and to keep one window down 1 inch for awhile.

AAA referred me to them for the crack in my windshield (due to a rock from the highway). I was adamant about getting a factory part since my Audi is 2012 and they were able to order one no problem. My appointment window was between 8am and 1pm. Brandon the technician called me around 8am and told me he was on his way. He came to my office and completed the installation in about 1 hour. SO convenient! He was very knowledgeable and professional. All in all, it was great, easy, effortless!

I have rarely experienced a company with operations as horrible as Safelite in Redwood City. I made an appointment to have my auto glass replaced two weeks ago. They gave me a ridiculously long wait for the appointment. Someone named Bobbie called me yesterday to confirm my long-​awaited appointment for today.
Today I wait for the two hour window and no one shows up. I call in and they tell me they can’t get the window for this car. AVOID this company at all costs. HORRIBLE!!!

All staffs i came in contact are all friendly and prompt to my needs. I was referred here through Liberty Mutual and Sunny took care for me. Due to urgent need to have my window replaced, Sunny squeezed me in before my original scheduled appointment, and had my car ready on time as promised!

AAA referred me to them they done a great job changing my car window and they work fast I just waited on it. And they even vacuum the pieces of glass that left on my car but not thoroughly though but they do a great job.

Neutral ratings for now. AAA referred me to them after my car was broken into. They replaced my window, but the auto up feature is now all weird. Window would go all the way up like it’s supposed to, hits the top and rolls all the way back down again. I have to try several times to inch it up a little at a time every time I want to close my window.
Called them to fix. They dumped me to their warranty department to get me an appointment. I am still waiting for them to call me back.
No customer pick up or drop off.

I had a broken rear window and Geico directed me to these guys. First they said, they have to order the glass and then they’ll call me to set up an appointment when the glass arrives. Couple days later, they called me and said, they have to set up an appointment before they can order the glass. At the end of 1 whole week, no glass was ordered and no appointment was made. I’m sure part of the blame lies with Geico too but finally, I took the matter into my own hands and found myself another glass shop that was able to fix the whole thing in 1 day.

The guys did good work, just installed my windshield on my bmw. They worked with my insurance and this place seems well run. I had a minor issue but the manager resolved it very ethically. Five stars for customer service.

Had previously given these guys 5 stars for the mobile service. The experience dealing with the store was tougher. I had an appointment but their online system didn’t work right and they ordered the wrong glass for my car. There was miscommunication after that, and it took calls to the main office and some frustrating emails to get them to expedite my repair. They initially told me I’d have to wait two more weeks. But after I complained they found a way to get me in sooner.
So –1 star for an online system that didn’t correctly get the right part. And –1 star for first telling me I have to wait two weeks.
I recommend calling before your appointment to confirm they have the right parts. And if you have any problems, do post up on Unilocal and call their main office.

I do not recommend Safelite — terrible customer service at this location. They put in the wrong size window and were not polite about fixing their mistake.
When my front passenger window was shattered due to a break-​in, my insurance company recommended Safelite for the replacement. I drove over, they vacuumed out the broken glass and secured plastic over the open window. They ordered the necessary glass while I was there (i.e. they saw the exact make and model of car) and asked me to return when it came in.
I returned for my appointment and the replacement took only about an hour. However when I got in the car and checked the window, it rolled up and down MUCH slower than all the other windows and sounded like it was struggling. I pointed this out to the person who had helped me; 10 minutes later, he came back and said «it’s probably just overworked from going up and down so much. Give it some time and it’ll be fine». I was very skeptical that a struggling motor would suddenly ‘fix itself’, and asked them to check again. He said no! Then said if there was still a problem «in a few days» I should call back. I said that of course I was going to call back because obviously the window was not installed correctly and he shrugged then repeated «just call back if it doesn’t work in a few days».
I left, and a few days later it (of course) still wasn’t working properly so I took my car to a different auto shop, who confirmed that Safelite had used a completely wrong window (glass was too thick and too long for the space) and the motor was being worn out trying to force it to roll up and down. It took us well over a week to get the ordeal sorted out with an insurance agent coming out to inspect the window, confirming it was incorrect, and then forcing Safelite to replace it with correct glass.
Incredibly unhappy that they KNEW it wasn’t working properly — and I’m sure when they checked it after I pointed out something was wrong they had to realize it was the wrong glass part. Why would you tell a customer to leave and «call in a few days» when something is clearly wrong, and you even acknowledge it too? In the meantime it ruined the previously-​fine motor to have the wrong size window.

In the middle of our worst storm this year, my 2 month old windshield leaked resulting in the entire interior getting saturated with water (I was parked on an incline and the water traveled from the windshield area to the back of the car). Since Safelite had installed this leaky windshield (in a different location than San Mateo), the windshield repair was under warranty. However, when I phoned Safelite, they said that all the shops in the area were busy and I would have to wait a week – with a saturated interior –to get the car repaired. I was relentless, calling each day, to get the repairs immediately under way. Sunny, the Safelite store manager at the Chestnut St. location in Redwood City, hearing my story when I shopped around on my own for a shop, said I could bring the car over to his location (despite being short a man that day) and he would take care of it.
He went out of his way to get the windshield immediately replaced and tested (3 times) for leaks and then, with all the detailing shops closed because of the weather, kept persevering until he could get the detailing done – this included steam cleaning the entire interior and a total oiling of all the leather. There was absolutely no smell within it, no damage to the interior.
I really appreciate that Sunny went the extra mile me; I felt he treated my car the way he would have liked his treated.

Very convenient scheduling on their website. They were courteous, skilled and efficient. It takes 90 minutes to replace a windshield.
