Sequoia Station gets«NOSTARS.» You don’t reward dysfunctional and abusive people with your business. This morning, we were in Safeway’s parking lot at Sequoia Station in Redwood City, California for less than 10MINUTES when this security guard came up to give us a «warning.» More videos are being uploaded — stay tuned… While I was in Safeway buying trash bags, this security guard was knocking on our vehicle, harassing my husband about parking in their lot. We had been in their parking lot for FIVE(5) MINUTES when the security guard knocked on the vehicle. My husband told him 13 different times to «get away from the vehicle» and the security guard kept arguing. The management company for Sequoia Station is Regency Centers Corporation. Regency Centers Corporation sided with their dysfunctional and abusive security guard. You be the judge. And remember, when you reach out to this property’s management company, Regency Centers Corporation, you will not be heard, your feedback will be invalidated, and you will be giving your money to people that think it’s OK for their security guards to harass you, threaten you, and call you derogatory names«INFRONTOF» their patrons. The BOTTOMLINE: When you give your money to people who are dysfunctional and abusive, they get to continue to «BE» dysfunctional and abusive. Stop the abuse everywhere by not rewarding dysfunctional behavior. ***** Christiana Souza, We just spoke on the phone. I have never had a harder time buying a box of trash bags, then going to pay my phone bill, all in the same shopping center, while continuously being harassed by the designated security guard at your Sequoia Station property in Redwood City, California. Your security guard refused to give me his name. We arrived at Safeway at 8:40AM this morning. Our receipt shows we «finished» our shopping at 8:48AM at Safeway. We were filing an oral incident report with Dave at Safeway by 8:57AM. We were parked legally in Safeway’s parking lot. The security guard for your property decided to knock on our door while my wife was in Safeway to inform me that there was a three(3) hour parking limit and that if I didn’t move, he would call the police. Within the entire harassing experience with your security guard, I told him 13 times to «get away from my vehicle.» I asked him if he knocked on every other car in the parking lot and informed every other shopper. He said there was no need to because there were signs«everywhere» in the parking lot. I asked him, «Well, then why are you knocking on „my“ door? Why are you harassing me? I know how to read. I speak English. This is highly unethical to knock on someone’s vehicle and assert your authority.» That’s assault, Ms. Souza. Your security guard didn’t have the right to touch my vehicle. He called me a jerk in front of the pizza place owner next to Metro PCS where my wife was paying our phone bill. As he was following me around the parking lot, he proceeded to inform me that he was a sergeant in the Air Force… He was a dispatcher for the San Francisco Police Department… Which made me question his inability to reason by knocking on my door. I served in the U.S. Navy in special operations. I was a protection specialist with the Department of Criminal Justice in Washington, DC. So, I am familiar with«security» and proper protocol. This security officer on your property has no idea what he is doing wrong. He is a wild cannon. He is antagonizing customers who were doing nothing wrong. He was threatening and verbally abusive from start to finish. Your security guard wasted seven(7) minutes of my life, WITHNOJUSTCAUSE, who had no right to follow me around and verbally assault me. Please review this video and contact me immediately to discuss further.

I have been coming to sequoia since it first opened. The past few years it has gone down hill. I do my best to avoid coming to sequoia station, but it’s a shame because we like Safeway and Starbucks. Just seems like there are a lot of pan handlers and homeless people hanging out there. I’m not sure how they can clean it up or if it’s possible.

A place to run all of your errands at once! Lots of stores, a few restaurants, a train station, and ample parking. They have some security walking around which is nice because this is a popular spot for loitering. If you go on a saturday afternoon you will obviously have parking issues but other than that there is almost always ample parking.

this is a convenient shopping center to where i live and has most of the basics like safeway, starbucks, cvs pharmacy, barnes & noble, old navy, jamba juice, and several restaurants. it is also adjacent to the redwood city caltrain station, and one of the center’s exits actually leads directly to the platform. while i like the selection of retailers, i do feel that parking could be expanded to allow for more vehicles since i feel that i am always having to circle around once or twice(sometimes three times) before i find a parking space. also, i really feel that the parking area needs to be made more pedestrian friendly. after i park my car, i always feel that i have to be especially careful or do some fancy footwork to get to where i need to get to since there are no sidewalks or walkways in the parking lot. there is a sidewalk that runs the length of all of the retailers on the east end of the shopping center, but i wish that there was something similar on the west end or at least in between the various sections of the large parking area. tip: parking is limited to 3 hours at this shopping center, and do not try to park here if you’re headed to the caltrain b/c you will be cited and possibly towed!

This shopping center has become an armpit that I try to avoid. The denizens of the peninsula use this place to bum money, loiter in front of all the stores and pee in the underground garage. The crime rate has risen dramatically in this area with multiple violent robberies and a stabbing, in one year. I go out of my way to the Menlo Park Safeway and TJs for groceries because of the conditions at this shopping center.

One of the best shopping centers in Redwood City. You’ll find a variety of stores in this shopping Center. Old Navy, Barnes & Noble, Jamba Juice, Safeway, Dress Barn, See’s Candy, and a Pier 1 Imports currently in the process of being built/remodeled.

A mish mash of useful and not so useful shopping. Seems to be a loitering point for punk ass kids too. Parking is an absolute clusterfuck sometimes. Im seeing that many businesses are in flux in both closures and openings. We’ll see if it ever settles down to something interesting. Good proximity to train station is a plus

Those teenagers/kids who always loiter in the area between the Caltrain Station and the Starbucks — can someone please come hose them away or put them in a cage somewhere?

I went to Starbucks at around 9:00 this morning and I got, in the opinion, the best cappuccino ever. I like grande triple shot cappuccino(dry). There are not too many people in Starbucks that do it the way I like it. They usually put too much milk in it. If you want a GREAT cappuccino, just ask for LISA and tell her Dottie said you make a great dry cappuccino. Lisa, please show your co-workers how to make them!!! See ya next time. Dottie

If you’re into one stop shopping, this place pretty much has everything you really need and then some. Most of the stores rate 3 stars/good/average but collectively the shopping center gets four stars for comprehensiveness and convenience. The recently remodeled Safeway has free wi-fi and is open 24 hours. Longs is also open 24 hours. There are plenty of cheap eats, mainly chains like Noah’s, Starbucks, Una Ma’s, Extreme Pizza, Fresh Choice, Johnny Rockets, Max’s, Jamba Juice, but also a nice local diner, Franklin St. Caffe. On a health kick? Go to Apple Health Foods. Sugar craving? Check out See’s Candies. Be entertained at Barnes & Noble, FYI, and Blockbuster Video. There’s a cell phone store, Game Stop, dry cleaner, pack & ship service, and tobacco shop. Need clothing? Check out Old Navy and Dress Barn. Stay pretty or presentable with Peninsula Beauty Supply, Supercuts, Longs Drugs, and Sequoia Station Dental Care. There’s a nail salon too. If you’re not feeling well, drop by the in-store medical clinic inside Longs. Parking is easy and the shopping center is right next to the Caltrain station.
