Veterans Blvd Shell

I live behind this gas station, own a business in downtown redwood city, I have 4 cars that I always fill them up from this specific gas station, it s very convenient for me and my family, I always get my propane tank from here too, 690 veterans Blvd redwood city. So I’m a regular, I come here, do my business and go. I got 2 propane tanks over the weekend and one of them is leaking and still full. I did not even use it at all, as soon as it leaked I took it off and I called the «pickup «propane company and asked what I should do, they just clearly said, «return it wherever you want and they can swap it for u, there is no cost for u or them «
Here I’m now in front of the gas station where I bought these 2 propane tanks, tried to exchange it but both guys working here are so rude and not professional at all. They refuse to exchange the tank which is ridiculous. There is no cost for them at all, but the propane company «pick up» was very helpful, they contacted another station (where I didn’t buy it from) and arrange to exchange it for me.
These guys don’t know anything about business, and I’m 100% sure they are not the owner of this business. Sad to see these kinda people behind counters, and dealing with customer service. I m here to spend money and not asking for something free at all.
I ll move my business to the corner gas station and I hope the owner will do something about his rude, lazy employees.

Took my car in mechanic is nice and truthful doesn’t try to rip you off charges fair amounts. $ 50 for a smog check. Gas is usually the cheapest on the block. Would definitely go back to him again.

I went into this place because my check engine light came one. They said it would take an hour to check. When I returned the mechanic was explaining that i needed to do $ 800 in repairs. I declined because I wanted to get a second opinion. When I was trying to leave I was told I needed to pay $ 100 diagnostics fee. I told them I just wanted the check engine light checked. I dont know if it was a language barrier but I was under the impression that checking the check engine light was free. They refuse to let me go unless I paid for a service I did not want. I reluctantly paid. worst of all they left the check engine light on.
I took it to precision tune where they checked it for free and reset the light. wouldnt you know the light didn’t come back. Dont go to this place, its pricey and they will rip you off.

here’s another easy gas station that sells pretty darn cheap premium gas. nuf said. (oh and they also have good prices on red bull which I’m always in the mood for when I take gas here…)

Oil change and tire rotation… guess what, they can’t find their Air tool to rotate my tires?! So do it the old fashion way — manually! That’s to difficult, we will do it next time! WTF!!!
I bring my own oil and filter and they still charged me $ 25 and no tire rotation!
I’m not coming back here!!!
I’ll try Nielsen Automotive (5 stars on Unilocal) in Sam Carlos next time!!!

The gas station attendants are very nice here and the snacks aren’t too expensive.
The gas is usually WAY overpriced. Try down the street at Chevron, Valero or Arco. They are much more reasonable.

I had a nail in my tire. I had it patched at this Shell station because it was the closest place to get it fixed at the time. They charged 20 bucks. They were great. I will likely use them again for other repairs I need. He saved me from having to get a new tire. He got me back on the road and for that I think they are tops.

super convenient location in redwood city on veterans blvd. the store clerks are consistently friendly. a great place to get lotto tickets and slim jims when the craving striikes.

I rarely buy gas there because it is usually the most expensive. However, for over 15 years I brought my car there to get serviced. Moji, the owner and head mechanic, is wonderful. He kept my 20 year old Audi going way past all expectations and always charged me reasonable prices. In fact, he often gave me discounts or didn’t charge me for small things. He has always come across as honest, reliable and efficient. I am bringing my new car to him to service because of his excellent service. One of the reviewers remarked that the service bay is always busy, although the gas prices are high. It’s because of the good service. They have a huge return business rate because of it. I would definitely reccomend them. (I only gave them 4 stars because of the gas prices – but the service is definitely worth 5.)

and tells me to «read and get educated». What? I’m supposed to go into every gas station I see which is overpriced and find their back story? From an article that is over a year old? Fuck that, I just want to get some damn gas. I admire the fact the owner wants to fight the man or whatever but keeping high prices and giving the wrong perception to the customer is not the way to do it. Don’t deal with Shell at all if that’s the case (uh why are you paying rent to Shell still?). No normal person off the street is going to try and find out why your prices are so damn high, they’ll just go to the next station.

Ok this place has got to be some sort of money laundering or drug front operation. How else can you explain the price of regular being more than that of other gas stations premium? No one ever seems to get gas here (obviously) but there does seem to always be cars in the service center. Maybe it’s a chop shop?

I stopped in today to get my smog test before heading to the DMV to register my car. Moji in the service department was most helpful. He even took off my old plates and put on the new ones once I was done at the DMV, taking the time to cross-​hatch the stickers so no one can steal them. Great customer service.

This Shell station is conveniently located on Veteran’s and is usually staffed by appropriately-​helpful folk. They keep it clean and, at least the last time I tried, the air and water station was in good working order.
In addition to the usual fill-​ups, I’ve gotten a few satisfactory oil changes and light bulb replacements here. Sure, I’ll be back.
