I went to buy a standard 3 way Sylvania lightbulb with a mogul base. I have bought this type of bulb there many times over the years. Every time I buy one, the husband(Dave) takes the bulb out of the box and tests the bulb to make sure it works on all 3 settings. I like this but this time the husband(Dave) was not there but the wife was. I got the lightbulb, brought it to the counter and said, «Please test the bulb.» She said, «You don’t have to. They are already pre tested.» I was pissed. She did not want to take the extra two minutes and minimum effort to test the bulb. When I got home, I tested it and it did work. The wife always has an attitude. Very serious, not friendly, rarely smiles and acts as if she does not want to be bothered. The husband(Dave) tested every bulb I ever bought there over the years. He is nice and friendly. Dave provides good customer service. The wife does not.

The locksmiths here are extremely honest. I really appreciate that. They look out for me and tell me how to save money instead of keeping a profit. I trust them for all my security hardware needs! The bad reviews sound really fake because the lady is really nice Miriam and the locksmith guy David who installs the locks is great too! I support this family owned hardworking business of 37+ years!

I moved to Rego Park from Brooklyn a few months ago. I’m a DIY kinda guy and am in the middle of setting up my new place to meet my tastes. So far, I’ve dropped by three times and each experience was very pleasant. The couple who run this store have been nothing but friendly and helpful. First time I needed some anchors, drywall screws and a masonry bit. The woman at the counter inquired if I needed any help(to which I replied«not at the moment»), and then just let me wander around freely without being followed or pestered. Dagim has a real Mom-and-Pop feel to it, with a few unusual items peppered throughout among the normal hardware. When I got to the counter the woman helped me figure out which size bit to buy and she also came out from behind the counter, got on her hands and knees, and picked out the right size drywall screws for me. I thanked her and made sure to get a business card and let her know that I’d be back. She was very obliging. Second time I just needed a mallet and when I explained what I needed it for the man went to the back and gave me two stray pieces of wood — for free — to use as buffers. I also got to meet their adorable little dog who is tranquil and friendly and likes to be pet while lazing on the counter. Most recently I needed a different size of drywall screw and the man, as his wife did previously, came out from behind the counter, knelt down and found me the right size. That’s great service in my book. I asked him his name before leaving(it’s Dave) and he gave me a warm handshake and thanked me for my business. I think if you have a bad experience at this place the problem may be you. Aside from the aforementioned, I’m giving this place five stars and would give more if I could to offset the two lousy reviews from Marcus and Mike. If you click on Marcus and Mike’s respective profiles you will see that all of their reviews are one star. Nuff said.

i wanted to make a review about this place. i went there in the past and i had a bad experience with the lady there i think its the wife of the owner* she was rude and did not care if i shop at her store or not. fast forward 6 months later i figure i give this place a second chance. pretty much worst mistake ever i made i had to get my door fixed and i figure since im doing that why not ask for other things at the same time in my place. so 3 doors later the guy charges me 175 just to replace 1 cylinder and 2 knobs to me that seems a tad much but i figure i want to support small stores and why not. the work is finish the guys tell me its gonna cost me extra 35 bucks because he had to brake a handle to fix. keep in mind that i told them all this in advance i talk to the one of the store worker and got a price quote. here is the kicker the guy left the old door knobs on my floor could not even pick them up as a kind gesture and dispose of them. he just left them. also he was going fast i wanted to make sure the keys worked but the guy bearly gave me the time to at least check i had to say wait to him in a demanding voice for him to even take me serious so i can sort the keys out before he left

Customer Service in this part of Queens is spotty at best(given the«friendly» soviet atmosphere in this neighbor.) but I got by far the worst experience from this little hardware store. I went there with my baby son looking for a special electrical power adapter. The«lady“at the counter wasn’t very helpful, claiming they didn’t have it. I insisted to at least look at whet they had available but she didn’t want to, having a rude attitude for some reason. Annoyed, I simply mentioned she didn’t want my business and started walking away, to which the lady replied in thick russian accent«yeah, leave you piece of sh…». It was really awful, specially having my toddler son with me seeing all this. I will never go back to this place for sure. Luckily I found better options around with better customer service. But bottom line is that little shops like this in Rego Park represent a dying legacy of a soviet past that does not have any room in the 21st century and the era of the Internet where this kind of customer service and treatment to people is unacceptable.

When I first moved to Rego park, I went out looking for some paint to stain my book shelf. The Home Depot was a subway stations away and I wanted to find something close-by. I had never painted wood before and as I walked into the store I told the owner what I was looking for. He not only gave the the paints and brushes, he even gave me a quick lesson on how I should be using them. Its a quaint little store, but has tons of stuff and very polite owner. I always go there for small things like double sided tape, screws, etc.
