bad service and Just plain gross. I was asked have you eaten out of the salad and pickle dishes that where at my table and I had said no. the waiter then goes and takes them to ANOTHERTABLEYESANOTHERTABLE my pickles and salad where in fact reused and given to someone else after it siting out for a good hour. besides this the service is just plain terrible as you sometimes need to chase your waiter for a check and to pay.

This is an old school classic American diner. They serve up diner food so what do you expect out of it? stick to what you know when it comes to ordering diner food and you won’t be upset. Service is friendly and quick. Fun fact: sit in the booth where they filmed wolf of Wall Street so you can pretend like you’re Leonardo dicaprio and Jonah hill.

The service wasn’t the best. The food was ok. The only good thing here is free parking.

Cute diner for breakfast. Although didn’t officer and specialty coffee the Belgian waffle was delicious. The sausage and eggs was also very tasty although it didn’t include the toast. It a nice place for a quick breakfast.

I can’t even begin with how ridiculously unprofessional this place is. I used to like this place. My last encounter I went out with a girlfriend for breakfast. I had asked our waiter if they had blueberry pancakes, and if the berries were sour. He said they are very sweet. As he brought me three huge blueberry pancakes all I saw was blueberries. Seemed like they just wanted to get rid of them. The blue tries were extremely sour and disgusting. The manager had come over, some Greek old guy. He was so unprofessional. Started screaming at me in front of all the the other people dining. I was shocked. This is how you run your business into the ground not to success. Unfortunately I had to give them a lousy one star, but I wouldn’t if I had an option

This place is good for casual dining. I usually go here for breakfast so this review is based mainly on my breakfast dining experience. The waiters are really helpful and welcoming. The place are clean specially the rest room. About the food, sometimes the bacon is a little dry and tough to eat. Other than that, I recommend this place!

So I saw this place as I was driving by the neighborhood and I thought it was closed because of the condition of the building. Honestly, if I was living anywhere other than New York I wouldn’t have even given this place a second look. However, all the good things in this city aren’t shiny so I decided what the hell and parked here for a late breakfast. The interior is actually pretty clean looking in comparison to what the outside looks like… thankfully! The staff members were nice enough. I was seated prompts even despite the steady pace of customers coming in and out. Menuwise, it’s a typical Northern diner, which means no grits or biscuit… sorry it is just mind blowing to me that it’s not a breakfast staple. Instead lox is everywhere… which I prefer on my bagels not with eggs. Anyways, I was feeling fancy and ordered steak n’ eggs. I was given the wrong order but I was so hungry I ate it anyways… and than my order was corrected; I ate that too! Steak and eggs was pretty good, but a bit pricey. I paid like 16 bucks for the dish and thought it could have been less for the size of the protein. Coffee was okay, nothing to rant or rave. The Wolf on Wallstreet shot a scene here, I didn’t even know and quite honestly it didn’t even say my opinion. Overall? I love diners and this one was just alright. Not horrible, not outstanding and mind-blowing either. If I were a Rego Park local than I’d probably come back again but I’m not.

This is a dinner so you know what kind of food your getting, unless it’s a very good one . The food is ok, and there’s no other dinner around this area . Staff people is actually very very nice.

This is an update to my previous review! I discovered this week that they re-use pickles in the restaurant!!! YES!!! The pickles you get with your burgers or sandwiches might very well have been sitting on someone else’s table just a few minutes prior! I noticed them not throwing away pickles from someone’s table and walking them back into the kitchen. I then asked the manager why they did that and was told they REUSETHEPICKLES!!! GROSS!!! The manager clearly told me they regularly reuse pickles… I asked them about the sanitary issues and he didn’t seem concerned! I asked what about people sneezing at their tables or spitting while they spear or cough? Or possibly handle the pickles with unclean hands and then return it to the plate it came on??? COMEON!!! People… do NOT eat the pickles or cole slaw at this place! I reported it to NYC311 and the Health Dept and they reported back that they were sent a letter and for me to report it again if it happens in 21 days… BEWAREFOLKS!!!

This is the diner from«The Wolf of Wall Street» & we sat in the very booth where Leonardo DeCaprio sat(my guest sitting in the very seat he was in). Bathroom was tiny but place itself is convenient to the 63rd Drive-Rego Park subway & right across the street from the Rego Park branch of the Queens Public Library. Food was very good & filling; I’d come back.

Terrible service, mediocre food. I came here with a party of 4 for lunch. It wasn’t overly crowded but we waited over an hour for our food. When we were eventually served, one meal came out at a time with a ridiculous wait in between… so long that the first person served had completely finished eating before the fourth dish even came. Every table in the restaurant was experiencing similar issues and we saw several groups leave without food. The waitress and manager were apologetic but did absolutely nothing to fix the matter. We will definitely not be returning!

It’s my favorite Diner! Every weekends we have breakfast here. I’ve newer had problems with service or food. Also I’ve been surprised– Leonardo DiCaprio visited this here))))) I want to say — Thank you! And I hope it breakfast will be my tradition in future!

My friend ordered the cheeseburger deluxe & when the waiter brought the topping separate to the burger thank god!; as my friend was putting the so called lettuce on the burger she opened and found a stand of hair and bugs on the lettuce it literally killed my whole appetite was ruined and I ran to restroom to throw up!

Breakfast: Overall Terrible! The Lumber Jack — pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and ham. Pancakes — Very dry. Even with four containers of syrup it didn’t help! Turkey Sausage — disgusting. The three links were definitely placed in a microwave due to the fact that it came out shriveled and super dry. I’ve had great turkey Sausages at other diners this sure was not one of them! Bacon: Wasn’t even cooked well! Ham: Didn’t eat it. Waitress — An older woman(60’s) that seemed highly upset and annoyed she had to serve human beings breakfast at 7am on a Sunday morning. Her attitude was curt and seemed annoyed that I wanted turkey bacon and sausage. The look she gave me when I asked was as if I asked for something out of this world. The diner had five people including my party of two. She didn’t refill our water or checked on us. We did hear her b*tching about her other coworkers to the hostess. When we were done we had to flag down the hostess for our check because it was truly impossible to get the waitress to acknowledge our existence. The Good: Hostess — Welcomimg and Courteous. Eggs. Fun Fact: A scene from the Wolf Of Wall Street was filmed at this diner. Most likely the only cool thing this place has.

My go to diner! Love the gyro plattern. You cant go wrong if you order this dish there. The french fries served on the deluxe platters are huge, thick and very tasty. They are not open late night. Ive tried going after clubbing and they are closed. Go to Georgia Diner for that. This diner is huge and has two dinning areas. They have middle tables or boths all around the windows. The restaurant is clean and the owner is always there to welcome you warmly. They seem to have a huge selection of desserts that can be seen thru the glass. I havent tried them to confirm their greatness. Try their milkshakes. Thick and creamy, totally what you want when comes to a frosty. Boy I want one now! This movie was in the last Leonardo Dicaprio movie. I recognized it immediately!!! Mom enjoys the burgers and brother the salmon. So choices are varied but we have never had a bad meal here. Consistency is key with this dinner.

In all honesty, this frills-free joint probably would not get more than 3 stars, in my usual opinion… but they totally 1-up’d another diner i recently visited, in the smallest way, but sometimes it’s the little things that matter, right? I love corned beef hash. So based on that alone, I hafta add the extra star. Their beef hash tastes like no others i’ve had, and i must say, one of the very few times that actually cooked it well-done and crispy to my liking(everywhere else is always still kinda wet). Tasted some of Derrick L’s home fries, which was not bad either, but both the hash and fries were just a little too lukewarm to enjoy on a breezy night. Decent cappuccino and English muffin… which makes me wanna shout to the OTHER diner«How could you serve ppl teeny tiny store-bought muffins, when these bigger 3-inch diameter ones exist?!» Will be back to try the rest of the menu soon~

The first thing that attracts to this diner is a big parking space in front of it. And the second is the fact that the last scene of the blockbuster– wolf of the wall street was shot here. Besides these two, there is nothing extraordinary about this place. The owner is courteous, décor is good and the food is also descent. But that’s expected from a place like this! Right?!

I think Shalimar Diner is a wonderful eating establishment. Their food is more than tasteful, and it was not crowded. The service, despite many other’s opinion, was not the greatest, but very kind. I felt that it was a bit pricey($ 9.00 for an appetizer of Mozzarella sticks). I was quite surprised however by their wide range of food. I personally ordered their Chicken Parmesan and I was shocked to find that it even better than I had gotten it at some Italian restaurant. Every meal comes with a free dessert, and many of them also come with a free bowl of any of their soups. They have a parking lot, which is actually quite large. The food came out very quickly. My biggest complaint is that we had to remind our servers that we had ordered multiple things. It was a nice evening overall.
