Subpar from inquiry to check-in date! Asked about possibly changing an original booking length from 9 nights to 7, agent(Carol) failed to respond to several emails. I was able to tell from their online calendar for the property the additional 2 nights had been rented, however. I had to call HER a month before our rental check-in to ask if she would like the balance payment. Of course she did, but I certainly needed to know what that amount was considering we went from 9 nights to 7! Did I mention the poor communication? Fast fwd to day of check-in: per the rental agreement I was emailed by this agent, key pick up started at 12 noon. How dare I show up before 2pm check-in time? I was told the information I had was wrong! That the information that was mailed to me was correct– only thing was, never did I ever receive a mailed copy of anything! The woman(english/british accent) at the agency literally said to me «if it’s going to be like this, I will make you» in response to my expression of frustration about the misinformation in THEIR rental agreement and not being willing to fight coastal highway traffic to back track from Dewey Beach to pick up the keys for 2pm instead! Even after I gave my word we would not go to the property prior to 2pm– what did this same woman say? «that’s what they all say.» To the owners of 119 Collins Ave. Unit 116−2A: your property is beautiful and I would not hesitate to rent again. However, as long as Maggio Shields is your agent, I’ll refrain– and share those sentiments with others I know who rent in Dewey!
