Wu’s Kitchen

Wu’s has typical Asian fare. It’s great for takeout. Tofu and noodle dishes are quite tasty. Probably one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area.

This place was just okay to me. The sesame chicken was mostly good until I bit into a battered lump of fat (gross!) and the lo mein smells a little off but tastes okay.
The egg foo young gravy was not what we’re used to and smelled funny. My kid who loves the gravy wouldn’t eat it and it turned my stomach as well.
The French fries (a regular order gives lots of fries!) and spring rolls were great.
The bathrooms and restaurant area did not impress me for overall cleanliness, which added to my experience. I don’t think I’d go back there despite the great chicken and customer service.

The shrimp, lo mein was good, egg rolls ok, and the crispy noodles were stale.

Great food at good prices! Broccoli with garlic sauce is excellent. They also have really good General Tso chicken and hot and sour soup. Fresh duck sauce and house hot mustard available in the refrigerated case — just grab what you want! This is our go to Chinese place!

Very typical Chinese place. Prices were fair, food was good taste and portion sizes were ok. I felt like I got what I paid for so all and all I was happy. If I wanted Chinese food I would come back.

Delicious! Best Lo Mien that I have ever eaten! Who would think a beach town would have such great Chinese food! Also so well priced!

Having moved to Delaware from a place where great Chinese take-​out was plentiful we were THRILLED to find Wu’s after getting our beach house. Not only have all of our orders been spot on but it’s quite possibly one of the best tasting Chinese take-​out places in the entire state. Now to find one as good near our place up north!

Was traveling through Rehoboth Beach and decided to eat Chinese with my sister on a Sunday afternoon trip. Typical Chinese fare. I had chicken chow mein and my sister had pepper steak. the food was tasty, the chicken was the usual Chinese style. Is hard to tell whether you’re getting processed chicken or real chicken in these restaurants because they usually coat the chicken in a sauce at most Chinese restaurant. The service was fast, but not particularly friendly, which is the usual for most Asian restaurants in my opinion. But they did their job efficiently enough to receive the 20 percent tip. My sister informs me that the bathroom was not dirty but not clean it was in the middle somewhere. Overall I would recommend this place for a stop in if you were looking for relatively cheap decent Chinese fare in a pinch. There are more expensive Chinese restaurants with probably better food, but this is not a bad place in general for the price of the food. I would actually give this Restaurant a 3.5 star if I would be able to do it.

We were chilling in our car in the parking lot reviewing the menu outside Wu’s Kitchen. A patron on the way out noticed we were contemplating an important life changing moment… where to eat on a Thursday night. He assured us we would not be disappointed. We were not. My wife is a vegetarian and she loved the fake schezuan chicken.

Just picked up my order of kung pao chicken that I repeatedly explained that I wanted it extra spicy. It was the blandest least tasteful kung pao I have ever had. There were maybe 10 peanuts in the entire order. The vegetables consisted of a ton of celery and maybe 10 small pieces of carrot. After adding my own soy sauce and siracha sauce I still could not achieve the kubg pao flavors I thought I was purchasing. Clearly the quality if preparationhas declibed since Wu’-s opening. But after recent experiences I don’t plan to return to Wu’s again. Sad. We need a good Asian take out inthis area.

Consistent and excellent Chinese for the Rehoboth Beach area. While the restaurant interior remains quite functional, the portions are generous and tasty– always utilizing the freshest of ingredients. I also might mention takeout times are consistently expeditious, with minimal waiting on your order-​to-​go. A great deal at the beach town!

So we’re looking for a place to get some sushi after a disappointing day at the beach (where no swimming was allowed) and equally disappointing shopping at the outlets. After nearly going to a majorly overpriced sushi bar up the road, we decide to check this place out because it’s listed as «sushi.»
WRONG! This is Chinese food. I thought the name was off, but Unilocal was firm about there being sushi here. The menu inside the restaurant confirmed that they only serve a party tray (which they were out of, anyway). Whatever. We were so hungry that we decided to just eat here.
The prices are VERY FAIR. Under $ 10/​person for a dinner special; I saw lots of people (obviously regulars) driving up to pick up orders. The service is non-​existent and the cashier and server hardly said two words to us. It’s almost like fast food! We got our meals shortly after ordering, which was great because I was a HANGRY MOTHER.
The soup was light and flavorful; I really enjoyed the wontons in broth (plain but good) and my friend’s egg drop was delicious. The pork lo mein was AWESOME. Tastes Americanized, but you really can’t go wrong with greasy, tasty noodles. The moo goo gai pan was good, but not excellent; you could tell the ingredients were fresh (not frozen), but the sauce needed a little extra oomph (I added soy sauce). Everything was great about the food until…
Two hours later. We’re on the freeway. «Uh… I think there was something wrong with that food.» We had to pull over at the nearest exit and we both got sick. Sadness. I can’t say with 100% accuracy that it was the food, but seeing as it was the only thing we’d shared that day, it’s definitely probable.

Not sure if the food had MSG in it or not, but if it did, it was barely noticable. Vegetables were fresh and crispy and the meats seemed fresh and tender.
I tend to like my Asian food on the spicier, more exciting end of the spectrum, so to me, the food from Wu’s was overall a little bland.
We called in a $ 60 order and it was ready when they said it would be. THey don’t deliver. When we got back to the house, we discovered they didn’t include any of the white rice that was supposed to come with several of the entrees. We called back, explained the situation and were invited back to retrieve the rice. No apologies, no explainations, but no problems getting it either.
I will order from Wu’s again.

Visited Wu’s Kitchen based on the reviews here on Unilocal.While the food was decent it was not exceptional as the 4.5 stars or higher we noted in other reviews.
The hot and sour soup was well made with tofu, pork, black mushroom, bamboo shoots, Lilly buds, and was appropriately topped with chopped Spring onions, but in truth it was neither hot nor sour. Not bad, but maybe more aimed at the western pallet.
The chicken moo shu was very good; a little on the sweet side and could have used more onion possibly. Definitely the best dish in our order.
The Four Seasons was decent, but again rather bland. It was supposed to come with snow peas, but came with green beans instead. I suspect they were out of snow peas. The brown sauce was not particularly savory, but I suppose brown sauce is not generally special anyway.
Overall, the food was good, but not what we expected based on other reviews.
Prices ranged from $ 7.75 — $ 13.00 for dine in entrees.

Forget pricey Chinese downtown: Wu’s serves up the BEST Chinese food at the beach. Typical very modest dining room belies the good stuff coming out of the kitchen – fresh is the name of the game here. I suspect most dishes are from scratch, fresh, not frozen. We always order steamed meat dumplings: there are country style – thick wrapper and ground seasoned pork filling. Edamame is perfectly cooked. Lo mein is flavorful with a sprinkling of veg along with the chosen meat. Orange chicken has orange peel and is absolutely delicious. You’ll have to take out if you want an adult beverage with your meal. So glad we have this gem at the beach.

Wu’s kitchen has not been open too long; maybe a couple of years. We first found it because it is next door to the QVC outlet store in Rehoboth, Delaware. There are several «Chinese» carry outs in this predominantly summer beach resort area. A few are good; this one is GREAT, as long as you understand that you are getting American food and not really Chinese food!
Last night, 1÷13÷2014, I carried out something made to my specifications: shrimp and tofu in a white garlic sauce (I am gluten free and cannot eat most brands of soy sauce; unless I know the restaurant will use GF soy sauce, I avoid dishes made with it (for one of those, see my review of MaMa Wok on Key West Ave in Rockville, MD). One of the great things about Wu’s is their flexibility. The young lady at the register made sure she understood what I wanted, again — NOT on the menu, although maybe now they will add it. After a few minutes, she came out to show me the prepared dish to again make sure! It was PERFECT. Lots of fresh garlic as I’d requested. To be honest, I don’t think they charged me enough for this dish!
My wife had their fried chicken wing appetizer and we shared a NOT salty egg drop soup.
It is a small place, but does have 8 or 9 tables for very casual dining. No ambience, but who cares? This is a beach resort and not Downton Abbey.
If you are in Lewes or Rehoboth, or even Dewey Beach, I highly recommend Wu’s and the wonderful, hard working, people there.

This place is so good. I travel from DC to Rehoboth during the fall and winter to get away from the city life. I always come to Wu’s because the food is very good because it’s not loaded with sugar and grease. The chicken with broccoli is great. I would highly suggest this place even to vacationers in Ocean City because the food is reasonably priced. The dinning area is extremely clean.

Sushi is very good for the price. The spicy rolls are quite strong and good sized. I can’t wait to try their other Chinese and Japanese dishes. Only complaint I have is that they forgot to provide chopsticks.
FYI, easiest way to get here is to get off Route 1 at Chick-​fil-​a (it is in the part of strip center just north of Chick-​fil-​a).

No frills décor and service but the food is great and the price can’t be beat. Awesome vegetarian «beef» and «chicken» options as well.

Great food and inexpensive prices. Extremely tasty. Definitely will be eating at Wu’s again!
