I recently visited the Reisterstown Library for the first time since I was a little girl. Stepping in brought back so many memories, and I was pleasantly surprised and both the nostalgic similarities and new improvements. There was a great selection of books, audio books, and DVDs, plenty of available computers, and the hold section is conveniently located near the door so you can zoom in and out when you’ve reserved something online. I like that there’s a drive-through loop to easily drop off books without going in when you’re in a rush. The librarians are friendly and helpful, and suggested ordering a book not in the Baltimore system from another county, which I didn’t even know was hospital. They have a lot of great resources about Reisterstown and Maryland history, too. If you are from the area and are interested in seeing cool pictures about what main street used to look like, it’s worth a visit.

This library offers a few history lessons about historic Reisterstown. It’s located next to the 1st cemetery in the area that includes several people involved in the founding and building of Reisterstown and Owings Mills. The older part of the library is a building that was the first school. There is a modernized addition to that historic building to hold the actual books and computers. The quiet room is okay, but because it’s located in the older building you can hear people walking around upstairs and anyone going up or down the stairs… it can be annoying at times! They have about 20 or so computers to log into. Free wi-do of course. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and will try their best to answer any of your questions.
