Flaherty Floors

We hired a company to install flooring and re-​finish the remaining floors to match. We chose the original company because of a few positive recommendations and they were significantly cheaper. We were told the job could be completed in 4 to 5 days, max. However, it took over two weeks and we were extremely disappointed when we saw the final product. The staining was inconsistent (some areas were not properly sanded, edges, corners and under counters) and there was so much pitting that it felt like sandpaper. Plus, there was prominent chatter throughout all the finished flooring. We spoke to several additional companies and Brendan responded immediately and came out to assess the flooring. Brendan meticulously cataloged the problems, which were more than we had even noticed, and communicated with us in a refreshingly direct and straightforward manner. Brendan also helped us determine that our previous contractor was not even a licensed professional and showed us what is required by the state to perform home improvement contracted work. He was professional and very experienced in repairing floors from botched jobs. We hired Flaherty Floors to redo our floors a second time. Brendan told us it would take 4 days to complete and fixed molding and replaced multiple boards the prior company had damaged. They showed up every day they stated they would (unlike the first company) and they were extremely professional, hung plastic and cleaned and vacuumed meticulously. Our house was cleaner after they worked than before they started. We would re-​hire him and his company without hesitation and recommend him to anyone. He sent us pictures of the flooring as he was progressing and listened to all of our concerns. Brendan is extremely knowledgeable and his pricing is still lower than many competitors. We would feel comfortable with him and his crew doing any work in our home.

I had Flaherty give me an estimate on redoing my floors a few months ago. I hate our carpet, but since our house is old and the floors aren’t completely level, I wasn’t sure what kind of options I had. They gave me a few options, but the only one in my budget was to refinish the weird wooden checkered tile under the carpet… which I just learned is asbestos tile. The guy who came out said he would email me with a quote for the project, but he never did. Which I guess is a good thing because I might have gotten asbestos poisoning.
I had another company come out who not only gave me better (and safer) options, but better prices as well.

My floors are beautiful!!!
Brendan and his crew are courteous and did everything on a timely basis. Everything exceeded my expectations!
