Went for dinner on Father’s day and was disappointed. I had several small plates. Baked brie wasn’t baked all the way through. Lobster mac n cheese had a good amount of lobster but the mac n cheese part had too much cognac(?) and the alcohol taste wiped out the taste of the cheeses. Crab cakes could have been great but were mushy inside(undercooked). However, the saffron mayo was amazing. Also had lamb meatballs — best thing I had. My wife had cream of onion soup — the star of the evening — fabulous soup! And the braised short rib which was tough. We’ve definitely had better. Especially at their prices. Service was fantastic.

Much to do about nothing. Prices were too high even at 50% off, I think they think they are on the strip in Las Vegas. Food was just alright, the French fries weren’t as good as McDonalds. Had Calamari, just Ok and Prime beef sliders, hardly any beef and I had a bad after taste for a couple hours after. Most of the restaurants that I have been to in Reno have been great I just can’t figure why everyone sees to rave about this one.

This restaurant was amazing! From The greeting from The manager Mark, to the server Susan who was so sweet and attentive to us. Free champagne when we sat down, the food was to die for. Really worth our $ 125 bill and that included three drinks. Definately a nice classy place for a date night, special dinner or even a casual dinner! The atlantis hotel was impressive! Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality

Hubby and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. Very romantic, I know, but we are sports fans and we wanted to eat good food, with somewhat nicer ambiance than a straight-up sports bar, and where we could watch the NBA Finals. Bistro Napa it is. I’ve always liked their social hour menu(4 – 6 pm happy hour), and I was even hoping that we could order some food from the main dining room while eating in front of the TV at the bar. The answer to that was a ‘NO’, by the way. Oh well, I tried. We ordered clams, prime-rib sliders, pork ribs, and calamari. My favorite were the clams ~ a huge serving and very tasty broth. My least favorite were the ribs ~ super tough, it was almost inedible. The calamari were also on the meh side. The sliders were good, and hubby cleaned all three up. I took care of the sexy fries that came with the sliders. Probably one of the better fries in Reno, for me. For dessert, hubby had their gigantic brownie sundae, while I had a couple of their mini-dessert cups(tiramisu and salted caramel budino). All were ok, almost too sweet. Maybe another case of the eyes hungrier than the stomach. But ~ with half off everything(cocktails included, but not the desserts), we enjoyed our dinner. The Warriors won, so that’s always a good thing. But the highlight? Meeting our bartender Chris, who is a seriously huge fan of Game of Thrones, like we are. We had deep discussions of the GOT characters, and where the show is heading. Yep, a little too nerdy for others, but we were so happy to meet someone who love GOT as much as we do. I will be back to Bistro Napa when the season wraps, because I knew I will have the NEED to discuss the episodes with someone. See ya, Chris!

Best restaurant at Atlantis! This is my second time dining here and the food was an extordinary as the first time. First time(party of 10) order way too much appetizers(lobster mac n cheese, galic fries, spicy prawns, and oysters) everything was a must tried but will definitely order the lobster mac n cheese again ended up only ordering the chicken cesar salad. The second time(party of 4) ordered lobster mac and the bistro ciopinno make sure to make it spicy. The entrée was spectacular large shrimp, scallops, clams, seabass, and crab legs. The flavoring was just right with a light kick. Servers were always on point and very attentive. Never once did we have to call for the waiters they always came back to make sure everything was to our liking. Would dine here again no question. =)

Like most people, I just come here for Happy Hour. Pretty much everything on their happy hour menu is delicious although I’m sad they remove some things like Ahi tacos but it is what it is. There’s plenty of other deliciousness to be found. I’d say the only down side it gets packed and tracking down your waiter can be hard. All this is in the bar area. As for the restaurant itself, I’ve only ate once and wasn’t so impressed but that could be reviewed another time.

When I checked into the hotel, Toni told me about the property restaurants and highly recommended I not miss the happy hour at Bistro Napa. She wasn’t kidding! There was a line of people waiting for it to open and to claim a table. I slid right up to the bar and enjoyed half price quality wine in a fancy glass. I then stayed for dinner and enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad and the butternut squash and pumpkin ravioli. Phenomenal. If I lived here, I’d be a regular. #gsmcon

Great place to go with a group of friends or alone. The Chiefs are top notch. If you are on a business trip and alone seat at the oyster bar. Dwayne who works at the oyster bar section is such a great guy and will make your experience over the top. Can’t say enough about the staff. I believe the staff makes or breaks a restaurant no matter how amazing the food might be. So with a top notch staff and then out of this world food, I can’t say enough. Must try!!!

Pros: Location is great, easy to get last minute reservations, easy parking, fantastic service, every thing we’ve had on 2 trips has been fantastic(get the sexy fries, seafood pasta & the cheesecake)! 4 different types of housemade bread in the bread basket, sea salt at the table, knowledgeable waitstaff generous with recommendations & descriptions. Cons: it’s in a casino, that’s it.

Dinner with the family and a friend last Friday night. We called about 15 minutes ahead and were able to get a table even though the place looked super busy. It can be a walk to get to this place especially if you park on the wrong side of the hotel/casino but it is worth the trek. Service was timely and responsive. The décor is upscale without being too pretentious. The menu is innovative without being too«out there». I had the Steak Frites. Fries were perfectly crisp with just the right amount of seasoning. Think shoestring fries without being too crunchy or soggy. The sirloin came in one piece, which is unusual since I have had this dish in many places and it usually comes sliced. Still cooked perfectly medium rare though and the accompanying sauce was just right. My daughter had the lobster mac and cheese which looked substantial and well prepared. The wife has an order of squash ravioli(comes in half order as an appetizer or full order as an entrée). My friend has the cheeseburger which looked to be quite a mouthful and which he judged to be pretty good but nothing overly impressive. Still the combination of food and service here make it at least four stars bordering on five.

Been here a couple times for dinner and the food is good. The calamari was pretty standard. Lamb is not something I really enjoy but I tried a bite of the meatball. Yup, it has that lamb taste. Yup, I still dont like lamb. The rest of my party enjoyed eating it though. I had the short ribs tonight and that was my favorite dish and I recommend ordering that. It was perfectly cooked, not mushy or too saucy. Went well with the sides and the portion was generous. 5 stars for the short ribs. I tried the other food ordered at my table and everything was delicious(veal and primrib). We were too full for dessert but every table ends with a cotton candy treat. Service: Everyone was friendly. It was okay. The bus person was very anxious to clear the plates. Usually, it is a good thing, but it was a bit much. I did not even put my fork down yet and somehow that cued the person to attempt to reach for my plate! It wasn’t only one time and it wasn’t only me. A few people in my party had to fight to keep their plate and fork! We were not eating too slow and the next course wasn’t ready yet. I know this person meant well and just wanted to clear the plates! I can’t help to notice that this person was ALWAYS in my site, holding the bussing tray — with one mission! I wouldn’t mind if they refilled my water instead but that task was done by the server. Bus person… relax!

I have been hearing about this place for a long time, was not impressed at all. We got a table reservation w/my co-workers, and I arrived shortly after 5PM, everyone was already there. Since it was 4PM — 6PM there’s a menu when the items are 50% off, but really I think it’s price insane, so at 50% it’s actually what you should be paying. Then the drink are price insane too so again, you feel like you are getting a deal at 50% too. The server came over promptly and took my order, this is when it fell off the rails. Many of my co-workers had Copper Mules, and I was tempted to order one, but my co-worker who has been to Japan multiple times wanted a Japanese Whiskey, and coaxed me in to order it as well. It was $ 12 for a shot or $ 6 at HH prices. I enjoy trying new things and it sounded great as I know Japan is really into whiskey. I also made two app orders, the American Kobe beef sliders and Clams. It was a long time and I saw my co-workers getting their mixed drinks orders and no whiskeys(x2), which as far as I remember is you take a bottle you put in a glass and serve it, not very complicated. I am actually getting a bit agitated, as I show up a bit after everyone, I order about the simplest thing I can and I have no drink. My co-worker next to me order Prime Rib Sliders and American Kobe Beef Sliders and got his Prime Rib sliders. I was really getting agitated now. Before I continue I would like to note, there is no such thing as American Kobe beef, it’s a cow call Wagyu and they shouldn’t even use this on the menu unless the say it’s as such, Waygu Slides aka the America«Kobe» Beef. I think it’s very deceptive and unethical to act like you have Kobe when you don’t. Kobe beef comes from Japan and the cows drink beer and get massages everyday, so the meat is incredible. Wagyu is a supposedly a relative of the Kobe cows, and it’s probably fed GMO Corn and Soy and in feeding pen with a bunch of other cows and can move about 1 foot and poops all over itself. Okay off my digression, so I finally tell my coworkers I am going to use the bathroom, it’s about 20 — 25 minutes later, and hopefully my simple drink is up when I come back. I leave and come back, and IT’S still NOTTHERE! My «Kobe» has arrived, it’s looks nice on the plate and it was even cooked perfectly. I dig into the slider, and it’s okay, I would give it 3 stars, not great, no wow factor, just okay taste. It was seasoned well too. It came with fries too in a little container, so I dig into those, the are luke warm to cold. I thought maybe its the cheese and garlic or whatever as covering them. The fries were okay, 3 stars in flavor but as I ate them they quickly dropped to 1 star, the salt level not on the fries but in the gunk, was 10x times what it should have been. I couldn’t even eat them, and I don’t mind salt at all. Finally as I am eating they deliver our whiskeys and the server, who never communicated at all with us, says, sorry, they had to go to the steakhouse to get these. I was very unimpressed. I know she was busy, and I have been a server, but come on, you can’t just let someone know when you drop other people’s drinks there is a delay on the drink order? Very unprofessional. So after a while, I go, where are my clams? I have been here about 45 minutes now, so server comes by, and I say where are clams? She says I will check, she comes back and says, they will come out when they are ready! Okay. I got clams about 15 minutes later, and they were not cleaned or I don’t know what, but I was scared I was going to break teeth eating them. There was so much crap in them that was hard, I felt like it wasn’t worth risking my teeth to eat them. I have eaten many clams in my day and this has never happened to me before. I tasted rocks, sands, shells, dirt, all kinds of nasty stuff. I even tried to suck on the clams to feel them before I ate them and this didn’t help at all. My young co-workers ate them. Later my co-worker order Wild Boar Egg Rolls $ 16⁄2(HH$) = $ 8. I had to try these as how many chances do you get to eat Wild Boar in a Egg Roll? I was very excited when they came out, and I was still quite hungry since I have had 2 sliders a few fries and a few clams after not eating since 10am. These were the most pathetic amount of egg rolls I have ever seen. There were 3 small egg rolls cut in half at an angle, I almost felt bad asking for a half. I thought about the price without HH and it’s ridiculous, but maybe they are BOM, NOWAYJOSE. Terrible flavor, I would never eat that egg roll again. Unfortunately, I had already put the whole thing in my mouth since it was small, and I kept waiting for the flavor to improve or something. Nasty flavor! Imagine the grossest pork you have eaten x 4, and that might be equivalent + over $ 5 per roll! Overall, I was disappointed with this place, but it was 5 stars to hang with my co-workers. Lastly I would go back for social reasons only, but I would never go back voluntarily.

This place is simply amazing. If you’re able to make it to happy hour(4 – 6 everyday), I would highly recommend this place. Everything on the menu is simply delicious and half off. The service is fast and the servers are helpful. I’ve been here many times and the manager usually make a round to check how the guests are doing which is great practice in my opinion. One thing that used to frustrate me is the self seating. On crowded days(weekends), people would storm the place when the gate opens. Once you arrive after 4, it’s up to you to find a spot once people finishes and leave meaning you can be on the opposite side of the place waiting for 30mins and someone can just arrive at the opposite end at the right moment when people leave and take the table. This happened more than once to me. Now they take down names and seat you which is much better. For the food, some of my favorite dishes include the clams, asian style ribs, ahi tacos, and the prime rib sliders. This place has been consistence with their cooking every time I go, and I always leave a satisfied customer. This really is a hidden gem in Reno and everyone should experience this place at least once. There will definitely be many more visits in the future.

I’ve walked by this fine establishment when it’s been open and closed, but have not been here until now. Bistro Napa has always been an interest to me. Yet, I’ve never patronized it, Until Saturday, the 30th of January. It was a great idea by my friend and his wife to invite me out with some other great people. We waited for happy hour to begin which is at 4:00 pm. There was already a line of people waiting here to enjoy the ½ price drinks and food. I’ve been to a number of other establishments within the Atlantis and all of them, the service has been decent to outstanding. I would classify this experience as outstanding. Thank you John F. you did a good job here. We made our way to a predestined table near the bar, but towards the back. The manager was sincerely happy to have us and even joked around with us a few times. Tina, our server was no exception to this fine experience. We started out with drinks. I ordered a gin martini. My martini was good. And, it was brought to the table with a smile. Various appetizers and the food was just as enjoyable as the service and drinks were. There are so many things that need to come together for a fine food/drink experience. The food, of course, needs to be good but equally as important is the service. Our server, Tina, made sure that we were satiated in both food and beverage. I have yet to dine in their restaurant but if their happy hour is any indication, I’m sure that I would be very pleased, to say the least. — — — — — — - Bottom Line Yes, I am looking forward to my next visit to the happy hour at Bistro Napa. Because of this happy hour, I would like to try dining in their restaurant as well.

We went for the happy hour and we were not disappointed. There was 4 in our party and we got 6 dishes. We got calamari, Kobe beef burger, Asian style ribs, artichoke hearts, oysters, and one other items which I forgot because I didn’t get to eat it hehe. Waiting time for a table wasn’t to long. We waited about 20 minutes, maybe 25 but it didn’t seem that long. There was a lot of people there. But we didn’t get there right at 4pm because I figure it would be weird trying to rush for a table. So we got there around 430pm and the wait time wasn’t that bad. The staff was nice and professional. They got our order pretty quickly. Oh, one tip if you are waiting for a table here make sure you get a menu to look at while your waiting, so when you get to your table you can order. That is what we did. It made the wait time for our food shorter. When we got to our table we were ready to order. They waiter took our order for drinks and our food. I hope that tip helps you. The food was good and would go back again. My favorite was Kobe beef and Asian Style Ribs. The restaurant is well ventilated and you can’t smell the smoke from the casino. You can bring kids here but don’t go through the casino. There is a short cut to this restaurant make sure you use it. I didn’t know that you can just take a left when you go through the doors from the back parking lot and go up the stairs to the second floor. That would be the easiest way to the restaurant. Wish I knew that before wandering around trying to find this place. Parking wasn’t bad either. There was enough parking but it was Saturday so we had to look around for a spot. We also got dessert and it was good. We got the fondue donuts. Shortly after the check came and I was pleasantly surprised at the balance. It was a good price for the amount of food we got. Thanks for reading my review.

We have been struggling to find a good, authentic non-chain seafood restaurant here in Reno. Perhaps our standards are just too high because we are originally Floridians? Maybe it’s just because sushi is much more popular here? I saw the wonderful reviews and got both of our hopes up… just to be even more underwhelmed. The ambiance here is great! A dim lit dinner hour with wonderful service and light chatter. The sky domes are spread throughout and are pretty neat. We were both hoping for a special that had seafood but on this visit it was a prime rib and a flank steak. Either way I ordered the sea bass and he ordered the scallops. I loved the citrus butter sauce, the potatoes and tomatoes on the plate were cooked stellar. And the sea bass was pan fried to perfection. My dish was very good but I was a little hung up over why this dish is $ 38?! I was expecting a lot more… Minus One Unilocal Star. The scallops were not well cooked, nor was the rice that came with… And overall was very bland. Perhaps that’s why there was random bacon bits on the dish? To flavor the rest of it up? I’m not sure. Also, in comparison to my dish the serving size was VERY petite. We wouldn’t order that again and I don’t recommend it as it is not with the $ 30+ price tag. Minus one Unilocal star. Our appetizer, the tuna tartar was also all title underwhelming. The portion size was decent, and the tuna was fresh… But there was nothing special to it. Keep in mind this plate was $ 10. The complementary bread and cotton candy was really the highlight of the entire meal. We also ordered a crème brûlée which was also good. These three things, plus the ambiance are really what drive me to give this place three stars. Perhaps the happy hour is the only time to come here.

It’s been weeks(months) since I enjoyed my dinner here, and I’m still reveling in the flavors of my cioppino! DAMN it was flavorful and full of seafood… so much so that I couldn’t finish it all. If you’re not super hungry… I’d suggest sharing this with someone. The service is Top Notch! Nice, Genuine, Friendly, Personable… not stuffy or pretentious. Absolutely lovely dining experience. The ambiance was intimate with low lighting and comfortable seating arrangements with an open-ish feel. You didn’t feel like you were in a cubby, but you didn’t feel like you were out in the open either. You could easily have a special dinner with a group of friends that don’t want rowdy… or an intimate dinner for 2 where you want to be social but«not that» social. :) Lovely wine list! They had Château Montelena Chardonnay in 375ml format which was perfect because my mom and I each wanted a glass so we didn’t want a whole bottle of anything yet the wines by the glass list wasn’t super appealing to us. So, having the smaller bottle of this superb wine was Perfect for us! For dessert we ended with a Cappuccino… probably one of the BEST cappuccinos I’ve ever tasted.(I’m no expert and I don’t particularly care for coffee, but this was fantastic… smooth, not bitter with just the right amount of foam with just the right texture and depth.) Will totally go back to this restaurant the next time I’m in Reno. :)

Ah! Bistro Nappa was such a fun experience. I have been here a few times now but since I am newer to Unilocaling I am not able to write a review! You have to go for the happy hour because EVERYTHING on the menu is half off! How much better can this get? When we went with our group of friends we started off with the extra dirty vodka martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives(oh my these where to die for). We also ordered a lot of food which was very good. We started with a flat bread and ended up trying two different kinds(the margarita and then bacon/onion) they were both delicious! We also decided to try the pork egg rolls, calamari, ahi poke tacos(my favorite) AND lettuce wraps! At the end out total was only $ 100 dollars for tons of drinks and food for 5 people. Now I would say that’s a great deal! The environment there is very fun and swanky. There a lot of people waiting outside the door before the place even opens because it is so popular for happy hour and they have little tables you can sit at as well as the bar area with TV’s. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. You don’t have to over dress for this place, you can come straight from work and not feel out of place. It is located inside the Atlantis casino on the 2nd floor. This was such a great experience I will continue to participate in this as much as I can!

Napa bistro had s truly great«Social Hour». Every day from 4 to 6 pm. But get here early. The line starts forming at about 3:30pm. But it’s worth the wait. Manila clams are great and they’ll bring you extra bread to sop up all the juice. Sometimes, however, they don’t always uses Manilla clams. But it’s still delicious Today we are ordering Kobe Beef Sliders, butternut Squash & Pumpkin Ravioli and Margarita flat bread. Matt came and took our order pretty promptly. Drinks were perfect. All the appys were delicious. Will come back again and again

Had dinner here last Saturday and the service was spot-on. Our server(David) was outstanding. He interacted directly in a charming and helpful manner, but then would also unobtrusively listen to make sure everything we received was perfect. On more than one occasion he overheard a quiet comment one of us made, and addressed it immediately. Might have seemed mind-reading if I wasn’t paying attention! The food here is great. It is not a creative, hip, inspiring menu; rather it is quality, classic, well-prepared dishes. The wine list was commented upon as significantly better than most other places. I enjoyed my sip of Cabernet. I ordered a champagne cocktail as my celebratory one drink(husband’s birthday), and it was so good! Fragrant and aesthetically pleasing with it’s sour cherry dyed-red sugar cube. Yum! My Chilean Sea Bass was perfectly cooked, the only niggling issue I had was the amount of delicious butter all the roasted fingerlings and veggies were bathed in. Nothing to complain about taste-wise, just left me with calorie-guilt. My husband and FIL both got steaks(a ribeye and a filet, respectively), and both thought the quality of the meat was fantastic(their supplier is in Chicago, allegedly). Filet was ordered rare and turned out perfect; the ribeye was ordered medium rare and could have used maybe just 1 minute longer, as the marbling was extensive and needed a moment more to break down. Other than that, delightful. The cheesecake is the size of my head, and fabulous. Managed to eat 1⁄16th of it before requesting a box. Saw the exact same cheesecake sitting in the glass displays at the coffee shop in the Casino the next morning. Suspect the coffee shop uses day-old baked goods from the restaurants. Just a head’s up!
