Bordertown Reno

We needed a park on our way home to Oregon. We got in after dark. But, spaces looked pretty and all pull throughs. We got dinner at the casino. Food OK. But, I am used to casino food. This seems clean and a nice grass area by the concrete pad. This would be a great stop in the summer.

We stopped in for nachos. They didn’t have nachos. We were told that they wouldn’t have any Mexican food til Tuesday when someone could come in to cook it. My son ordered a waffle instead, they didn’t have any either. I ordered a sampler platter, waitress came back, they were out of onion rings, she asked if I wanted extra mozzarella sticks, I said yes, she came back they were out of those too. After all that, the food that we did end up getting was decent. Besides a bunch of apologies from the waitress that’s really all we got. No discount on the bill or even free dessert. It will probably be another 11 years before we come back again.

Stopped in here to have lunch on our way home from a road trip.
Looking for a place to walk my Luna and let her go pee… There were signs everywhere stating «NO DOGS». But wait I finally found a sign that said «dogs»…

After that I didn’t even want to give them my money to eat. Yep, just a big fan of pet friendly places… and I am sure they could have come up with a better place to walk your dogs, then right along the train tracks…

Stopped in here on the way home from Reno to Janesville. My neighbor ordered a nice burger, smothered in onions and I ordered a turkey melt. From the moment we were seated the service was great, staff was friendly and checked on us a couple of times! A very home town atmosphere and the food was very tasty! Stop by! You won’t be disappointed!

The manager Darren Kakondi is such a racist guy. Service is bad and food tasted cold. No hotel near by. Sleep in car.

This very little casino gives you the old time feel of days past. The food from either the deli or the restaurant is very good, as I have yet to have a meal I didn’t like. The deli is the real hero of the food service at Bordertown. Their submarine sandwiches are big and loaded with meat, something the chain sandwich shops fail at. I usually get the 8-​inch #7 sub and take half home for a second meal. You can’t go wrong with any of the subs, prime rib sandwich or a pizza from the deli. The bar staff here are also second to none. Some of the fastest and friendliest bartenders I’ve seen in the Reno area. So if you are looking for that old time happy bar feel, Bordertown is the place to relax!

This pains me to do, but the last 2 visits have not been great. Typically I would rate good olé B-​Town as a solid 4 to 5 stars, but they got to get it together.
Breakfast last weekend was slow, coffee ran empty several times, the hostesses were meh, and the waitress was not friendly. I think she is new, because she wasn’t one of the regular ladies we usually see (missed Pam lately).
Dinner, however, was really terrible on Tuesday night. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. I understand they are going through a remodel, but all the more reason for your team to step up and control what is within their power. The hostess yelled across the waiting area disturbing a number of people in order to seat us. Then the waitress and young lady who were responsible for the table took drink orders and then never returned. Had to flag them down for silverware or refills. There just was no shining star moment, friendly smile, or general pleasantness about the entire experience.
Normally we go here 3 – 4 times a month. We won’t be back until the remodel is done at the very least. We don’t mind the limited menu or the construction site… but the lack of service is inexcusable.

So we have been here many times since we live in lemmon valley. Tonight was the worse. We were greeted by a new girl who had an attitude. We have a favorite waitress and never been denied until tonight when she straight up told us no. Then a sign saying limited menu because of kitchen remodel. We asked what they had and we were given the new menu offering what they still make. My wife asked for chips and salsa and nope don’t have it. No mexican food at all. So I looked and asked for fried chicken 9ff the new menu. No sorry don’t have that either. So ordered a hamburger with onion rings? Nope no onion rings just fries? Hmm so new menu tonight had half of what was listed and little snooty at desk. What a shame. Was good place for us.

We are staying in the RV park for a few days on our way south.
The park is nice. Sites little narrow but nice. Restrooms clean. A Good Sam park. Way more peaceful than in Reno.
Ate at restaurant last night. Chili burger and the Wed. Special. Both good and priced right.
Ate at the restaurant tonight again. Not the best experience but the management handled it great. Do not want to scare anyone from ordering the enchiladas but, my husband got cold food not once but twice. Reported it to staff and management and they comped his meal plus more. I had the Thursday. special meatloaf dinner $ 4.99. It was good and priced right.
Only thing have to ask for refill of drinks.
Will return to RV park and casino/​restaurant.

First off let me say the service was great and that is sadly where it ends. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak which left something to be desired. The Chicken Fried Steak itself was less than appetizing and the over-​medium eggs came out more like over-​easy. The Hashbrowns were good being they didn’t taste like someone had kept them on the grill all morning long. I ordered the Monte Cristo Sandwich which was okay but nothing I would write home to mom about. The Turkey, Ham and Swiss were barely warm inside the deep fried outer crust. A bit greasy for my liking to be honest. On a good note our daughter did enjoy the Buttermilk Pancakes.

Best and most affordable breakfast I’ve had in Reno so far! They have this omelette with avocado & a fresh green chile on top that is delicious. The servers are very friendly, fast, and efficient.

I have been to the Bordertown Casino several times. This will be my first comment for them. Their food is great. The food taste fresh and taste homemade. They also have a nice looking souvenirs gift shop along with all the slot machines. The only thing I don’t like is this. The waitresses should be a bit more friendly. We know your busy but atleast stop and smile while your customer strikes a friendly conversation that’s all.

The deli is awesome! Will be back for more deli stuff, and pizzas!
I was not to happy with the food at the restaurant, the servers were great! Just the food was so so. it lacked flavor, and seemed old,. I had the chicken fried steak, got sick from it, so did my son. I do understand that stuff happens, however this is not a good thing. The Chef should be on top of what is going on in the walk in. We will come by again to see if they changed in a month or so!
Please change for the better because I am your neighbor!

Stopped here once in March and once this month for breakfast. Excellent food and very attentive counter service. They run a breakfast special menu from 6 AM to 8 AM for $ 3.99…great deal. If you are on 395 north or southbound, forget about stopping in Reno and go here instead… highly recommended!

That breakfast burrito is big enough and delicious enough to feed an army. I loved it. From out of town and almost finished the whole thing. The salsa they gave you to go with it was also very good. :) wished I lived in Reno/​cold springs I’d have breakfast there every Sunday.

Anita in the Deli is THE BEST!!! She is always helpful and happy. The sandwiches are huge and we’ll worth the money.

Came here for breakfast a few times and I was never disappointed. Everything seems homemade. Everything I tried was great.

Easy access to/​from highway 395.
Peaceful, quiet and clean RV park with a few long-​term rigs. We stayed here because it was half way from Junction City, OR to Las Vegas.
Manager Rick was especially kind and accommodating. He phoned us after we placed an online (email) inquiry about rates and availability to make sure we knew how to find the place. We arrived well after the office had closed on a Sat. night. Rick came out (in below freezing temps!) to make sure we got settled in and knew where everything was. Since we travel in a small class B Sprinter, we have become aficionados of RV park showers. Showers here are free, spotless and HOT. This place ain’t fancy but it sure will stay at the top of our list for places we will happily return to and recommend to all our RV friends.

Wanted to take my toddler out to breakfast and did not want to drive into town. I also did not want to go to any drive thru. Many friends have said they like the food here so I thought I’d try it since it is the North Valleys area. We were seated right away and they gave my son some crayons which is nice because he needs to be occupied! It’s a nice family style place and they have a nice variety on their menu.
