Simple store packed with wedding dresses and formals. I was looking for a new formal and a coworker suggested Boulevard. I had never heard of it. It was easy to find, I headed north on Wells from the Deluxe area and at Kuenzli I turned left. Go slow because it is right there in the middle of the building. I walked in and the owner was right there to welcome me and to see what I was shopping for. I looked around a bit and noted a couple of dresses that were my style and color, then pulled a half a dozen and placed them in a fitting room for my to try on. Telling her some likes, dislikes, and size issues, she brought a few more. The service was wonderful and the selection is massive– three long rows of formals and cocktail dresses arranged by color and size. It’s not a fancy foofoo place and because it’s not too frilly is why she can probably keep the prices done. Nothing really struck my fancy that day. She did tell me if I do see something I like, I can always take a picture of it and she can order it or something similar. I will return next month as the selection is always changing.

I had a delightful time buying a dress to wear to my brother’s wedding here. I came on a Saturday afternoon in April and the store was bustling with high school girls buying prom dresses and at least two brides to be looking at bridal gowns. Even though the store was busy, I received excellent customer service. The fitting rooms are ample sized, especially the two«bridal» rooms, and all of the fitting rooms are stocked with high heels in a range of sizes in case one did not come into the store wearing high heels. The non-wedding dresses are range from simple to bedazzled, and the gowns are organized by size and then color. On the day that I shopped, all of the dresses except for a few of the very bedazzled brands were 50% off. I got a fantastic fancy(but not bedazzled!) dress for $ 89 total, which is much less than I would have paid for a work-appropriate dress. This price definitely allayed my uncertainty whether I should buy a dress that I might wear also to work or to go full out prom/party/wedding guest in the style of dress! Signs on the cashier counter note that dresses are non-returnable. Such a policy makes sense, because one knows there are people who might buy a dress the day of their event, wear it at the event, and then attempt to return it!

Unfortunately I have to be «that person» and leave this review. The dress shop is nice, the staff is very helpful, the dress selection is great. So why am I leaving a one star review you ask? I went in and purchased a dress for an event we thought was going to be very formal and big, but it turns out, because of bad advertising, it won’t be and I had bought a $ 200 dress. I called the store a day later and told them what happened. Now I understand WHY there is a no return policy. So people don’t buy the dresses, wear them, and return them after. Ok makes sense. I went with my friend who is also attending event who had shopped at this store for pageants in the past. She had a dress on hold for the event(which is not until the 19th) and was going to pick it up next Tuesday. It is completely obvious I have not worn the dress or taken it out of the bag, but«because of store policy» the owner refuses to do a refund or store credit. It’s sad how money hungry people are that they choose to not make an exception for a circumstance like mine where it’s obvious the dress hasn’t been worn. She lost herself a future customer as well. Editing my review to say I just googled my dress and found it online for $ 136 at two places then at another store for $ 115. I paid $ 200 for the same dress. What a rip off! My advice, find a dress you like, then Google it. Ask the owner of they will match the price(plus shipping of course). Paying over $ 50 more is not worth the convenience of the store!

They have the best selection of dresses anywhere in Reno. I searched far and wide by the time I finally went to Boulevard of Dreams, I’ll always look there first from now on. I have referred friends with completely different tastes than my own and they all found something they loved. The style selection is broad, as is their size selection.

Today I walked into Boulevard of Dreams to price tuxedo rentals for the groom and groomsmen in my December wedding. I hadn’t picked out my gown before visiting the store so decided to browse through the dresses. I’m so glad I did! I found the gown of my dreams, hanging there waiting for me to take it home. The staff is wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. I am so excited and happy!

After frantically searching for a dress to wear to an upcoming formal work Christmas party I ended up checking this place as a last resort hoping to find something to keep from having to drive to Roseville. The owner greeted me as soon as I walked in and instantly asked how she could help. Since I had been to 3 different malls and countless Ross I was so delighted by her offer. She sized me up and took me to some cocktail dresses then to long and formal(which by the way there are literally thousands from formal, bridal, girls, even suits!). I insisted I was a 8 because that’s my jean size but the owner quickly explained that I need to fit my body and not worry about the tag. Reluctantly I tried her advice and I’m happy I did. Since I wear a 36dd I needed a bigger size to fit my chest properly. And to the reviewer that claimed to be offended I can understand the owner is very forward(tells you colors, cuts, sizes that will flatter your body shape, skin color, size, etc) but never once did I feel uncomfortable. She obviously dresses people for a living so I took her advice and I am so happy I did! I found the PERFECT dress for my event and it’s something I would have never ever picked. She really has a gift with that. And not only did I love it but it was on sale!!! Since I had such an amazing experience here I had to tell everyone how amazing boulevard of dreams really is! The owner and her staff get 5 stars and so does their selection. And never will I ever have to go searching all over town again. I’m going here first next event I have.

I came here looking for a nice dress for my anniversary and found the perfect one. The woman working there was super helpful and was even the one who picked it out! I could see they had a huge selection of prom dresses, formal wear dresses, and wedding gowns. I will definitely be returning here the next time I need a formal dress. They also have a lot of reasonably priced gowns and a large selection of sale items.

I came here after my horrible experience with David’s bridal. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I am so glad I was told about this place by some friends. The owner was super fun and helpful. She made me excited and picked dresses that flattered my shape. She is so down to earth. The selections are endless. The store is in no way fancy but don’t that discourage you. Love my wedding dress and the quality and price were so much better than David’s! Would recommend this place to anyone!

Since I’d heard many excellent things about this business from various friends in and around town, I decided to pay them a visit when I needed a formal gown for a very formal black tie event. When I called to ask a few questions the gentleman on the telephone was very enthusiastic, willing to answer any and all questions that I had regarding size of stock. He claimed that the store carried 5,000 dresses on the racks. I was impressed by both his claim and his demeanor over the phone. There goes one star added. I abhor it when the person on the phone acts like he couldn’t be bothered, and this man was anything but It’s a David’s Bridal for formal wear. That is the easiest way to describe this shop. There were countless racks with dress after dress after endless dress. The man that I had spoken to the previous day was telling the truth. Take that back… this is like David’s Bridal for formal wear on STEROIDS. If you want a dress and aren’t picky with labels or trends, because some of these dresses, to be honest, no rational thinking person would touch with a forty foot pole you’ll probably have no issue finding one here. The prices are quite reasonable, but a few of the gowns had visible tears near the bottom of the skirt and elsewhere, so caveat emptor. My friend who came to offer another set of eyes and I were greeted by the owner who offered decent, if hover-hover-hover customer service. And one particular aspect of the service offered to us by the owner that particularly disturbed and offended me. I informed her that I was searching for a gown for an event and described my size. She began searching for gowns in earnest without consulting with me about my tastes and sense of style. Then, once she chose several gowns in a selection of colors, they were brought into our large dressing room. However, these gowns were in garish colors, with plunging necklines, and some with slits up to the tops of my legs and then made a remark in regards to the vibrant and exotic colors and styles of «This dress would look great on you with your skin tone» which offended me immensely because of my race, and her comments were obviously made in a derogatory fashion. What. The. Heck? My friend kindly informed her that my esthetic was reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn and not a… shall we say it… skank. She also informed her that I was new to wearing true formal wear and that she felt that I needed an actual formal gown and not a simple date dress. She continued to present us with dresses of the same type as she had found all along. She finally passed us off to her daughter, and ignored us until we went to put a gown on hold that we’d found on our own. She took ten minutes to approach us at the counter after her son and daughter AND her husband who informed her that we were waiting. The gown that we found was truly beautiful and gorgeous and of a wonderful price. I, in all of my years had never experienced such a racist attitude from anyone. My friend that accompanied me was embarrassed beyond belief and she is Caucasian. I was appalled by the service offered by the owner, however I WAS impressed by the service and advice offered by her Husband(the first contact that I had with the store) and their daughter who was very sweet. The selection of gowns available is the most diverse in the area and that was also pleasing to me. Because of the treatment that I endured from the owner, I give this establishment two stars. One for the gown selection, the second for the sweet and helpful rest of the owner’s family. ****UPDATE***** I returned to this store to shop for a dress to wear to my sorority’s formal last April. My thoughts were: Well, it’s been over two years since my last experience… time to go back and give them a second shot. I was pleased at the selection of gowns to choose from and liked the fact that the proprietors pretty much left me and my best friend alone to check out the racks. I left within a half hour with a gorgeous gown and was even able to get a discount on it! Yay! I’ll definitely come back in the future.
