HAWC provides health services at discounted rates to those with difficulty affording it. Their standard rate for an office visit is $ 120, but, with proven financial hardship, you can get that rate as low as $ 40. At around 15K a year, the rate is $ 60/visit. The other review by Kevin S. covers the place pretty well. The offices have transitioned to a paperless system, but no one knows how to use it. A bit of a hiccup for now. I’ve had some pretty half ass care via HAWC. The waiting room is a crowded, uncomfortable nightmare. As you can imagine, people come in droves for low cost health care. It’s actually worse than the Renown Clinic for county health care if you can’t get Medicaid or other services. They do have a kid’s room nearby that is often empty(HINT: if you go there with kids, it’d be better to take them there than make us listen to them) so I’ve waited in there before with happier results. As Kevin S. mentioned, appointments will not be on time(to be fair, they are often late other places as well), but it’s worse than most. Waiting 40 minutes to actually see your doctor is common. The office requests that you get there at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment. That’s mightily unreasonable if they aren’t going to be on time. They do collect prior to the visit which is also off-putting. Unlike Kevin, I’ve got a 1⁄10 success rate of being called back. It even took two calls to supervisors to get results back from a very important lab test, which came about 8 days after I was told I would receive it, with perfect timing to have me worrying over Christmas. There is a very long wait to get through on the phone to speak with a living person. I had a doctor actually make off with my drug company program paperwork and I was never able to get it back. They seem to have lost paperwork faxed to them with records from other providers. That is very inconvenient as I’ve needed those records for specific prescriptions. You really get what you pay for. If you absolutely cannot afford care anywhere else and cannot get into the county healthy care, going here is your best bet. If you’ve had much care anywhere else, you will be frustrated beyond belief, but it’s better than suffering for weeks with a sinus infection or something. I’ve had better care from Erickson Liwanag than from Alexander Noche, for what it’s worth. You have to wait longer, but the wait is worth it.

Just plain horrible service from start to finish. 1. Appointments are never on time. 2. Hold times to make appointments is always 30 minutes to upwards of two hours. If leaving a message for an appontment, the calls are returned 50% of the time. 3. Doctors & assistants do not return calls or make referrals to specialists as requested. 4. If you appointment is at 2pm, you will ALWAYS still be in the waiting area at 3pm. 5. Collecting co-pay before the Doctor is seen, that is strange. 6. They need to ditch the old paper charts to become more productive. An electronic patient management system might cost 5−10k, best spent money for any practice.
