$ 14 for a cut wasn’t too bad. Don is a bit aged so his hand seemed a little shaky in some parts. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he did an alright job, good enough i’d say. When I got home I noticed he did leave just a few straggling hairs but it wasn’t noticeable when I threw gel in my hair. I was in and out in 15 minutes which was convenient. I’d say if you need a simple cut he’s good for the price. Another plus is that he accepts walk ins.

My regular barber is closed for the weekend due to the holiday(Maxwells’s). This was the next best on Unilocal.Asked for a low 0 fade and tight finger length on the top. Didn’t get that. Also, he didn’t trim up the back of my head. Left it the same length. Didn’t realize it until I was home and had to go to another place to get it fixed. All in all, I would say go to Maxwell’s. They are the best. Go see Pat, he’ll take much better care of you there and you get a neck shave.

I got a great simple haircut here the other day, the straight razor detailing was a nice touch.

I decided to visit Don’s Barber Shop because of all the positive Unilocal reviews. It is kind of hard to find the first time. If you are driving on Casazza, the street behind Shopper’s Square, Locust is a one-way street that heads north. You will want to be in the left lane when you turn onto Locust and immediately park on the street because Don’s shop is in the very first building on the left. I don’t really even know who Don is. I assume he is the guy that cuts my hair, because I have probably exchanged a total of four sentences of conversation with him. This is totally fine by me since I am not a big fan of barber shop banter. Don’t go to this shop if you are looking for a group of loud blowhards, fishing or hunting décor, or a hair stylist. The décor is sparse, like the place could get shut down at any moment. Yes, there are gun magazines and Playboys available on the rack, as well as National Geographic. Just sit there in silence, read a magazine or watch the TV, and wait your turn. The TV will be tuned to the History Channel, which is totally awesome. Don is a one man operation and he is one of the best barbers that I have ever been to. You will have your sideburns and neck shaved with warm shaving cream and a straight razor, that is just the way it is. You will have the robust scent of Bay Rum applied afterword. You might even leave this shop as a man. Three words describe this shop: simple, inexpensive, quality.

I found this place based on the Unilocal reviews and was completely happy. Don is a really nice guy and does a great job. If you want a great, old school barber that takes pride in his work and charges a very fair price you should go here.

I was just passing through and decided to get my first real BARBERSHOP haircut. The great reviews led me into Don’s Barber Shop and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed. I have never met anyone who seems to really love what he does; and he does an amazing job. He wasn’t just trying to get you in and out as quickly as possible, he took his time. Just when I thought the cut was done, he lathered my neck up and gave me a straight razor shave. EPIC all around! I am now set on only getting a Barber Shop style haircut. Goodbye SuperCuts!

Possibly the best cut I’ve ever had in Reno/Sparks. The shop is small, but clean and traditional and Don is an artisan! The straight razor on the neck is the epitome of a classic barber. I’ve found my new barber.

Don’s shop is amazing. I walked in there and he was watching soap operas. Quickly he stood up from the chair to let me sit. He asked me what I wanted and I told him a clean cut for an upcoming wedding. He gave me a classic cut with no frills super cheep. While I was there local law enforcement showed up, complete with gun and badge. Not to arrest me of anything but to get a cut. The officer was a regular as Don addressed him by name and they had a good chat. This kind of personal attention and dedication can only be found at the best places.

A no frills shop, but Don is a nice man and he cuts your hair however you want it. Good conversation too.

Don is a good barber who listens to how you want your haircut and is a real barber. This is not a salon but a good old fashioned barber shop.

Don is the only one that is going to touch my hair for some time. I have read the reviews on google and they were right. He is awesome! I wanted a high fade and he did just that. I normally go to sports clips. I am tired of the ladies jacking up my hair. Don is super nice and cuts«old school». I very highly recommend.
