Service is good. I really enjoy their Riptides and if you can get there during happy hour its a great deal. Food is generally good. I especially like their mixed flavor wings. A little bit sweet and a little bit hot.

I met up with my friend for some food and drinks on Saturday. The place wasn’t too particularly busy, but I gotta say, service was terrible. TERRIBLE. Our server was a bit of an air head and she took forever. Then she disappeared for about an hour and we hadn’t been seen. We needed another round of beers so I politely asked another server if she could order us some drinks. This server looked like she hated her job. Her attitude STUNK. She actually looked pissed off that I had the nerve to ask her for anything. After we got our drinks I saw our original server smooching and flirting with a guy at another table. As well as another server flirting with some other guys at the same table. I know this isn’t a fancy restaurant, but c’mon. Have some professionalism. The only reason I’m giving the place two stars is because the food we ordered came out pretty quickly and was really good. My friend and I split a bbq burger and sampler plate. Also because on every Saturday they have live trivia night. The guy at the mic was a blast and made the night a lot of fun. I would return for the trivia night and the food, but NOT for the service.

This is a pretty average sports bar. They have a decent happy hour twice a day where drinks are a great deal, but the food is not very good. Every flowing tide is the same. It’s a good place to hang out with friends but not great food. Service is hit and miss. Some are extremely fun and friendly and some are kind of mean. I would always meet a friends here because they like it, but I will not suggest it.

We come here usually once a week for happy hour(2−6pm) and enjoy great inexpensive drinks and usually happy hour food, or for a couple of dollars more per person you can order from their regular menu. Food is consistently very good and the service is great. We are anxious to attend Saturday night trivia.

Great happy hour specials. Especially for the price and size of the plates. Their special cocktails are also wonderful! I suggest the Tidal tea. They have pool tables and a few arcade machines in the corner. Really large place. A lot of seating.

Great local bar. Great people work there, and usual patrons are always nice. Foods pretty good too.

What really bothers me about this place is the inconsistency of just about everything. Some days the food is good, some days not. Some days the service is good, some days not. Most importantly is the issue of free drinks when your playing at the bar. Nothing bothers me more than a bartender so caught up with one or two patrons that the forget to pay attention the rest of the people at the bar. I know Flowing tide comps you your drink when your playing, they’ve done it for years. On several occasions I’ve been charged on my check, then asked«don’t I get a free drink when playing» Always the same blonde haired female in the evening who replies oh, your playing, how much did you put in. I say $ 20 and she takes my one beer off the check. My routine is the same every time. I stop in after work, order food to go, one beer, and drop $ 20 in the machine while I wait. Been doing this for years. After my last visit I think I’m done. I sat at the bar and put in my $ 20. I’m clearly playing when she says can I get you a drink, I look up and order my beer. She brings it to me, again can see I’m clearly playing and I look up and order my food to go. She brings my food, and for the third time can see I am clearly playing and says anything else, I say no thanks, and she grabs my check. I look and see Reuben and yep one corona. Damn, is she blind, an idiot or just trying to run up the bill for a better gratuity. I paid my bill, left her nothing and decided that’s it. The male bartenders are always spot on, but this gal was clueless. I’m sorry Flowing Tide but I won’t be returning.

For us, the first thing we noticed about Flowing Tide is that we could walk to it from the Residence Inn. Bonus. By the time my husband and I got to the hotel on Aug. 31st after our beautiful drive all afternoon on CA Hwy 70, lollygagging and stopping for photo ops, we were really tired and didn’t want to have to put a lot of effort into finding a place to eat. Flowing Tide Pub reminded me of Sidelines here in Chandler. Friendly sports bar atmosphere with the usual items on the menu. We started with some cheap beers, a $ 2.50 summer shandy for my Mr. and a $ 2.25 Modelo for me. Then we shared the tide platter, which consists of fried shrimp, clams, and calamari, and the BLT with avocado. The beers were cold and the food was good. That BLT with avocado was REALLY good. I always enjoy a good BLT. I am going through a pile of receipts, getting caught up on my reviews, and at the end of the one for this place there’s something that says Mammoth 16oz. $ 5.00. I have no memory of what that is, but I imagine we had another beer since all we had to do was shuffle on over to the hotel. Emily was our server and she did a great job. Fast and friendly without hovering. The total with tax was $ 32.02. We’d definitely visit Flowing Tide Pub again.

This bar/pub is right around from the Residence Inn and an easy walk. The lady at the front desk mentioned it and I gave it a try. I had the fish and chips and it was very good. They offer a lot of food specials if you eat there. I was tired and chose to take the food to go. The lady who served me(Kimberly) was very friendly and offered me a big glass of water while I waited. She also asked what condiments I wanted and ensured they were included. The place has a nice vibe to it and I wouldn’t mind eating there again if back in the area.

Me and my girlfriend had just recently moved to south reno. So naturally we had to find a new bar. After many places, we’ve finally found Flowing Tide Pub. I’m writing this on our third visit. The second visit, the bartender instantly remembered us and suggested our favorite drink. On this visit I was greeted with«Hey man, how have you been» followed with a High Five! Now most would think this isn’t a proper greeting. But after that, we’re coming here from now on. The food is great, we’ve had; fish tacos, ‘The Dip’, the calamari(which were sticks, not pieces [preferred] like most places) and the Fish and Chips. Great beers on tap too. The have Lagunitas! All in all, if you’re in South Reno, stop at the Flowing Tide for good beer, good company and even better food.

It’s OK, but not spectacular. My family was visiting Reno and staying at the Residence Inn nearby. We were told by the front desk staff that Flowing Tide is «spectacular» and gives a 10% discount to folks staying at Residence Inn. It had been a long day of driving and walking to a nearby pub sounded great. As we walked in we were greeted by a nice pub/grill atmosphere with some type of trivia contest ongoing in the bar. My family chose to sit in the dining area instead of the bar. We seated ourselvesand about two minutes later a young lady came over and brought three menus(we had 4 in our party). She quickly noticed her error and walked off to get a 4th menu. Upon returning she dropped the menu and asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered three waters, a Stoli and Soda and a Michelob Ultra. The waitress walked off and about five minutes later another waitress brought three waters. As she put them down she said«I brought an extra, just in case.» I found that odd as we ordered three waters and got three. She then walked off and about three minutes later she came back and took our order. The Stoli was tasty and prepared properly, although I am not positive it was actually Stoli, more likely Grey Goose. We ordered chicken tenders, the tide burger with bacon, chicken kabobs and the Cabo wrap. For an appetizer we got the jalapeño poppers. The poppers arrived and were piping hot. They did not appear to be home made, but rather the kind you can buy at any grocery store. None the less they had good flavor albeit not very spicy. When the main course arrived the chicken tenders were overcooked and extremely dry. The burger arrived well done(almost like shoe leather) despite being ordered medium, the bacon was cooked to perfection and the bun was wonderful. Sadly the cook put half a purple onion on the burger which tended to overwhelm the flavor of the rest of the burger, although I suspect this may have been an attempt to cover up the leather like meat. The kabobs and wrap were tasty but again, not spectacular. The sauce on the kabobs was actually the best part of the meal and had a superb flavor. The French fries were good, but again I’m not sure they weren’t store bought. When our bill arrived I noticed it did not have the 10% discount, despite what we were told and the waitress having acknowledged our staying at the Residence Inn. I attempted to get her attention to find out if we were mislead, but after about five minutes gave up and simply paid the full price on the tab. The establishment was not very busy so the lack of quality service was not due to a capacity crowd. Overall this pub has a nice atmosphere and the food has potential. We will likely try it again before we leave as everyone can have a bad day and this may have been that day.

It’s been around 6 months since I was last here, but I do remember having some of the best fish and chips around at any sports bar. Me and my BF decided to have some fish and chips the other day and I thought of this place. It’s easy to find in south Reno and plenty of parking. As I remembered, it’s pretty dark inside here. It’s seat yourself, so we grab a high top booth. A server is over right away and gives us menus and takes drink orders. Just happens this is happy hour so beer is ½ off. Can’t pass that up! Looking over the menu I see some new items. I think the menu changed recently. The fish and chips($ 10.99) says 8oz. of fish served with chips(fries) and coleslaw. I don’t remember if before the menu specified 8oz. or not. We both get Fish and Chips. Nothing like beer to go with fried food! Our food arrives in a timely manner. When I first lay eyes on my plate, I’m a bit taken aback by the little size of the fish. I remember 4 bigger pieces being served instead of the dinky little ones on my plate. There are still 4 pieces. The batter on the fish didn’t seem as well evenly battered and there were some holes with fish peeking through. I guess that’s why the menu says 8oz. I suppose combined maybe the fish added up to 8oz. but it’s a far cry from the splendid portions served before. Before you’d look at it and say, «wow, can I eat all this?», now it down the hatch and I could really eat more. OK, I guess to keep the prices that same, management had to cut back somewhere, with rising food costs … I’d be happy to pay more for more fish though. The taste was as good as before and service was fine. I guess I’ll be on the hunt for a better experience with fish and chips in Reno, but this will do in a pinch. Why doesn’t Reno have any Fish and Chips shops like other cities? Maybe I’ll just stick to burgers here.

Flowing Tide is one of our favorite stops in Reno. My husband and I met in the apartments near here so it has become a staple for visiting with family. We love all of the Flowing Tide locations. There are pool tables, a few arcade games and TVs to watch the game. Service is always on point and the food is so much better than just bar food. There’s a bunch of options! My favorites are the veggie burger or any of the wraps. Their fishbowls alone are worth coming for. They’re massive and have to be shared. We had 4 people attempt to share ours and still couldn’t quite finish.

Yesterday I was craving a BLT. I searched a few menus online and Flowing Tide had one that sounded perfect and classic. We headed over to the closest Tide for my highly anticipated BLT. The parking lot wasn’t crowded at all so we parked only a few spots from the door. When we entered it wasn’t too crowded. Everyone in the restaurant was seated on the bar side and nobody in the proper dining area. We grabbed a table against the wall. Within moments our server, Kylie, came over to greet us. She was enthusiastic and personable. I told her right away I chose Tide because I had my heart set on a BLT. She took our drink order and left us to browse the menu. After a few minutes she returned with my beer and the soda my wife ordered. She remembered right away that I was set on BLT and asked for my side and if i’d like to add avocado. Then she took my wifes order. After only a short time of chatting together my wife and I were both served our entrees. She went with beef soft tacos which she said were good and hit the spot. They are well portioned at 3 tacos in one entrée. My BLT was delicious. The bacon was crispy and piled high. So much so in fact it was protruding out of the sandwich a few inches on each side! The lettuce was cold and crisp. The tomatoes was fresh and juicy. The wheat toast(that’s why I called it a classic BLT above) was perfect. The mayo wasn’t too heavy either. Often I feel like the mayo overwhelms a BLT. I like them light so the few, select, ingredients can shine. The avocado on the side was perfect. I could add it as I wanted. The fries, as always, were crispy and delicious. Their fries are beer battered so they have a layer of crisp and seasoning that you don’t find in most fries. Everything paired well with my Summer Shandy beer. The service was prompt, friendly and well timed. We didn’t feel rushed but we also didn’t feel ignored. It was the perfect balance. I will remember Tide next time I am craving a classic BLT. This one was definitely a winner! Side note — Our server mentioned that Saturday night is Trivia Night and encouraged us to come back. I may need to organize a team and stop in for some laughs!

We love this place for their happy hour specials, it just can’t be beat on the south end of town. However, I’ve noticed that service has really become slower and slower over the last year. The food is still good, typical bar food, but tasty whether you’ve had a few or not. :) On a side note, they need to tend to their bathrooms. There shouldn’t be stains or rings in the toilet, period. Keep it clean and it wouldn’t ever get to the point of staining.

This place is such a gem! While staying at the Residence Inn, it was a nice, easy 5min(or less) walk. My brother’s & I made it just in time for happy hour! We sat ourselves down & a waitress came over & took our drink orders promptly: 2 beers and a Pepsi. Food order: –Penne Sunsetta was SO delicious! It was made to perfection & the chicken was not dried out. — both my brothers ordered burgers with fries & asked for the meat to be well done. I swear it looked more than well done without the meat being dry or burnt. I don’t usually eat meat and with the one bite I took from one of my brothers, I would pry order one next time! It was really good! Service was great as well and I loved the atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

I knew it. I just knew it. I have been back twice looking for that real Potato O’Brien high I had upon my first visit. Sadly, to no avail. The last two trips the potatoes were small formed cube like chunks like ya get from the bag. Almost nil onion and peppers. My first trip there they had seemed to have made the Potaoes O’Brien from scratch using a real russet cut into thicker chips with lots of onion and peppers. But not so the last two trips.Sigh. Plus, this morning, Brother’s omelette was verrrrry browned with a couple of ingredients missing. He did not finish it. Mine too was not nearly as fluffy and fresh as the first time. The waitress was terrific. So, three stars for the service and the memories of the potatoes of yore… In no hurry to return now. 07/21/2015 I noticed that the manager had left me note about us returning and loving it so much. hhmmm. No offense, but she has it backwards there. We Loved it the first time! Ended up Not loving it so much the second two trips. We haven’t been back since.
