We arrived 5 minutes before they opened, we stood outside until a young girl came to the door. I thought she would open up the door since it was 11:00, but instead she stood in front of the door talking to someone deeper in the store who we couldnt see. Then she very slowly started to roll up the coverings over the windows. We stood there for 10 minutes, until, finally she decided to open the door and let us in. I was a little frustrated. She didn’t offer to help us find anything, and then I never saw her again. We were helped by a different guy at the counter, only to help us check out and pay. He never said a word to us before that. I think this location is lacking in customer service, and could step up its game to be more interactive with the customers.

Although I’ve been to other Gamestops in Reno that have slightly larger selections of used games, my preference is to shop at this one. The employees are super helpful and polite, even when they are dealing directly with my sullen preteen, and although they do a little bit of pushing of preordering games /upgrading controllers/etc. they are nowhere near as obnoxious as other GS employees I’ve dealt with. When we were there recently my children were having trouble deciding which games they wanted to buy, and the workers stayed past closing time to accommodate our indecisive offspring, which I really appreciated. Prices on used games are very fair; excellent money back guarantee policies as well.

My family(especially our son) frequent this Gamestop quite a lot. One thing I really like about this place is the knowledge that the employees have about the games and what is good and what isn’t. We were just purchasing a few games for my son today and while he had a list of games he wanted the salesperson steered us clear of a few that she thought were just lemons. Although there is an independent video game store in Reno that I’ve patronized for years I have to admit that I prefer Gamestop to it since GS carries a much larger selection of games and I’ve found trade in values to be better at GS now especially if you wait for their specials.
