Back in 2008, my husband had an abscess and didn’t have a dentist in the area. So, I pulled out his preferred provider directory and started calling dentists to see who could get him in. Dr. Yup got him in within hours. I give him five stars for that. So, when I needed a debt isn’t for myself, this is who I choose. Well… I learned, there might be a reason Dr. Yup could get patients in so quickly! I’ve had problem teeth forever and due to no insurance(ok…and a fear of dentists), it had been 2 – 3 years since I went up a dentist. I knew I would need a few fillings because at my last appointment in Los Angeles, I was advised to get my teeth sealed to help prevent cavities… but I didn’t. So, when I saw Dr. Yup, I was advised I needed 7 fillings. Not a big deal… so I thought. However, I wanted the white fillings. Apparently, he rarely does white fillings. He took forever to do them, and after hearing his dental assistant ask him, «don’t you need to put this on the filling before you do this?» I knew that I needed a new dentist. I ended up finding a great dentist in Reno after this experience. Unfortunately, I’ve had to get all of the fillings Dr. Yup did, redone. So, this experience docked all the stars I would have given him for getting my husband in early.

Last night I chipped my front tooth. This upset me so much I could hardly sleep. This morning I started calling around to find a dentist that could fit me in ASAP. The receptionist at Dr Yup’s office was very friendly and invited me to come in immediately to do paperwork and get x-rays done. I went in and completed the new patient paperwork and was taken in in less than 15 minutes. Everyone I met was very professional and seemed to enjoy working together. Dr. Yup and his assistant went to work immediately and fixed my broken tooth. They worked together very well — they seem to make a great team. During the procedure, I felt no discomfort. Once done, I got to look in the mirror, and I am very happy. From initial phone call(9:30 am) to completion was less than two hours. I never thought of myself as overly vain, but the idea of walking around with a chipped front tooth sickened me. Also, I am a trumpet player. I need my front teeth to be right, and I needed things done right away as I play tonight with the Reno Wind Symphony. In conclusion I could not be happier with my experience. In fact, before I left the office, I made an appointment to go back and have a full cleaning and check-up done. I’m actually looking forward to it(well almost… it is the dentist, after all).
