Really yummy! Went with a group of 5 so I got to sample a lot of the menu. The biscuits and gravy is great, pork chops and eggs were good, fish and chips were good, chicken fried steak not so much, but everything else was really delicious. I can’t remember what it was called but the dish that had ham steak, sausages and bacon is cheap and has soooo much food. I recommend trying it if you are near.

Amazing food simple and hearty! We where seated super fast and our food came out even faster. Food portions were generous for the price and service was good. Décor was rustic but clean One of the better small breakfast place I have been in a while.

They get a gold star from me for breakfast, my eggs were over medium and bacon really crisp both as requested! A rare performance in my experience… My previous visits were for lunch with mixed results-turkey San and Club both suffered from soggy bread; French Dip was tasty & generous and onion rings terrific but fries just OK; chicken san was dried out; will keep trying or just always get the Dip!

If you’re looking for a home style, good food having Café, you need to come and frequent this place. The food is absolutely perfect. Cooked to perfection, with no artificial crap, absolutely delicious. The service is outstanding attention to detail and proficient and quick. They also allow you to change anything you want on the menu anyway you want so you can have whatever you want no matter what the limit. We will be returning time and time again to this spot. We will be calling this our hometown café.

My husband, son and I had breakfast at the Hometown Café yesterday after a doctor’s appointment and we were highly impressed! We found them on Unilocal the other day and we were waiting for a day to stop in. I had a California omelet, and my husband had the meat lovers omelet. WOW! Big, tasty… and the coffee was great! Our little guy had a side of bacon and a biscuit and gravy. The service was prompt, the the food came quickly — which was great for the little guy! We will be back! I want to try the Dutch apple pie and the Ruben and I know hubby was eying the hamburgers and the little guy wants the mac and cheese! Great to have a fantastic local place!

Quick, friendly, clean AND great breakfast. We’re visiting our UNR student and tried this place based on a Unilocal recommendation. The parking lot was still full on aid Saturday morning. I had the Suzi scramble and a side of yummy bacon… both generous portions. The coffee was fresh and kept flowing. We walked out paying about $ 10 each for a great breakfast.

Had the Prime Rib last Friday with baked potato, veggies and soup or salad. Service was great, everyone was friendly, portion size was excrement and the prime rib was great. They start serving it at 4:30 so get there early, as they will sell out.

Locally owned family restaurant — yes, you will see the owner helping in whatever way possible. Whether it is seating the guest, cooking food, or even picking up tables. He is a very humble man and his daughter, a waitress at Hometown is a sweetheart. For those that have not been here: «It is a seat yourself, unless it is really busy which you will then have someone seating your party in the order it came. «The portions of the plate are very generous for a more than fair price. It feels like your getting more than what you paid for. «The waitresses are all very kind and can definitely keep up with your drinks. «Every time you visit it will feel like your local community restaurant, the more you visit, the closer you will feel to everyone. I highly recommend giving this place a shot especially if you are tired of places like Denny’s, or iHop.

I love their coffee and daily specials(especially the Mexican scrambles) my kids love everything they’ve tried. Highly recommend!

So it has been a while since I’ve been here. Tonight is prime rib night which is always good. Got our food and all was good till I got a long ass hair in my mouth from my baked potato. Showed our waitress who took to show the owner who was doing the cooking in the kitchen. We were only starting our meal when this happened. My wife started to gag from knowing and had to leave. They only refunded my plate? But charged us our two sodas and my wifes plate. They even wanted to know if we wanted a box to take it home? There goes another one.

This restaurant is out in Lemmon Valley and while I originally went to try their pie, I have yet to do just that. I have been there a few times in the past and have not been disappointed with the quality or amount of food provided. I have never been able to finish my food, which explains why I have not the pie yet. I have not been here on the weekend which I hear can be pretty crazy busy. I have had both breakfast and lunch here and have enjoyed both. I will have the pie one day, and you probably ask why not take a piece home for later. I truly believe the best taste test would be for me to have it there and not take it home and forget it. I have a terrible memory. I believe the answer to my issue would be for me to have dessert first… now there is the plan.

This place is HOPPIN during the weekend breakfast rush and here’s why: It’s AMAZING! This is a local watering hole for us N Valley dwellers and is really one of the best kept secrets in Reno. Nowhere does breakfast better than them. While you may be a little put off by the occasional line out the front door, you shouldn’t worry. 1) They are fast as all get out 2) I’ve never waited longer than 10 minutes and 3) It’s totally worth the wait! The waitresses’ faces are always familiar and they are always efficient and fast. They have a quick story, friendly smile, but don’t dilly dally for long. About as quick as you can get your cup of coffee just the way you want it, your meal arrives! Generous portions, cooked the way you want it, and always tasty. From the breakfast burrito the size of a small child and just as good as the fanciest Mexican restaurant you can find, to the unusual and delicious linguicia breakfast, you won’t be disappointed. Their oatmeal is the steel cut oats and not some baby food looking garbage you find most places. Aside from all the goodness that is this hole in the wall is all the locals. You often see someone you know and people running into friends they haven’t seen in a while. It’s not often you see this type of atmosphere in Reno anymore. If they could bottle up that magic and sell it, they’d be rich!

We were once again farting around and found ourselves in Lemon Valley. The front of the valley has changed quite a bit, the back not so much. I had not been here in about twenty years. I must say the same fly that bugged me twenty years ago was still there bugging me. It is a homey kind of place where half of the women there looked like they just stepped out of the dust bowl. Service was attentive and friendly. Our food was plentiful and quite tasty. In the area, give them a shot.

Went here Sunday morning, had the huevos rancheros and husband had the French toast. Amazing!!! I love pegs huevos rancheros, but they did a really good job with theirs. They were very nice. It was our first time and the experience was good along with the food. The prices are very reasonable. Would love to go back and try their dinner items.

After driving past this place on a near daily basis for years, I finally ventured in and gave it a try last week and have already back for another trip. Bummed that it took me so long to make my way there! The first time we went, there were just a handful of other tables. The second time was a Saturday afternoon, and it was a fullhouse. Both times it was apparent that most of the folks dining were regulars. The service was friendly and quick, and the food was great. I had the Reuben both times, and it was really good — reminiscent of the small town diners I’ve been missing from the Midwest. The cornbeef was nicely seared, piled on grilled rye bread with sauerkraut and swiss and a smear of thousand island. It was so good that I found myself craving it again just a couple days later and couldn’t resist going back for a second visit just a couple days after the first. I can definitely see us becoming regulars now that we’ve found this little small town gem.

Hometown Café is a staple in the North Valleys. I actually stumbled upon this place in 2007 when we moved to Reno. I kept seeing little hand-painted wooden signs that pointed to Hometown Café. It is in Lemmon Valley about two miles off the freeway on Lemmon Drive. This may be telling my age but if any of you remember the old sitcom Alice and the restaurant she worked in with Flo this place is kind of like that. It truly has a hometown feel. The service is always friendly and the waitresses know what you want when you are a regular. I know this because I frequently hear the waitresses confirm a customer’s regular order. We usually know what we were getting before we even go in. I truly enjoy the French Toast Combo. It comes with four half slices of thick French Toast sprinkled with powdered sugar, two eggs cooked any way you desire, and 3 pieces of bacon. The bacon is my favorite part of the whole meal. It is a thick sliced bacon cooked perfectly. I don’t like crispy bacon so if I think about it at the time I order I ask them for«not crispy». I usually forget to ask but it is usually right anyway. Sometimes I am in the mood for scones instead so I will simply order the bacon and eggs and upgrade my toast to scones for a small fee. Hometown Café is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Friday nights you can usually get prime rib and then you can order prime rib and eggs for breakfast on Saturday morning. I have enjoyed that breakfast on more than one occasion. Although we most commonly go there for breakfast, I have enjoyed lunch and dinner there a couple of times. Their hamburgers are delicious as are their French Dips and their chicken fingers. You will not leave hungry.
