First, I am totally supportive of seniors running their own business, especially a war veteran. Plus, I love a good hot dog cart. Unfortunately, this cart is too filthy to be a food concession. he needs to get a health inspector out there and certify the cart in clean so that people don’t get sick. The hot dog I had was clearly cooked a day or so earlier. dry and hard. The bun was not warm in any way and just pulled out of a bag. Only basic condiments ketchup mustard and onions. The mustard container was filthy and looked like it had been out for a long time. The kicker was the can of coke. It smelled like rotting fish so bad that I just had to throw it out. I am not a germaphobe. I eat everything. I have very low standards when it come to food carts. Support the old guy but be forewarned.

I have been here several times on Plumb, once downtown. They serve a great hot dog, especially for the price, with a little more condiments could be even better. Jack is a good guy and I wish more of the youth had his work ethic!

Was checking Unilocal as we drove by the corner Plumb and Kirman(west of Virginia) and saw the their stand at the same time, so we U-turned and stopped in. They are a charming couple, Jack is an 89 year old WW2 Vet and Annette(not Anita) is there to help Jack out. It is not about the Hot Dogs, which are very good, but doing business with a señor couple who are working hard, sitting out in the cold to help ends meet. We enjoyed the Hot Dogs, but loved the visit. BTW as you might guess they’re not highly computer literate and knew nothing about Unilocal. They were stunned and thrilled when i showed them the previous review. Fill your belly and warm your heart

Stop and visit Jack and Anita’s mobile stand for their Hebrew National hot dogs, polish sausages and especially their italian sausages with homemade tomato sauce and parmesan. Very juicy sausage and the sauce has sweet onions and is not overwhelming. He’s got drinks and chips as well. Ask this feisty 88 year old about his WW2 service in the S. Pacific and be regaled while you munch your lunch. Be sure to leave a nice tip for a hard-working couple. They’re there most days, rain or shine.
