Okay, «Keystone Shopping Center» is *not* the name of an Italian restaurant, but there IS a place there known to me and my friends as «that Italian place in the Keystone strip mall,» so I guess that’s close enough. Full disclosure: Italian isn’t my favorite by any stretch, so I probably wouldn’t have gone to this place anyway if my friends hadn’t suggested it. We arrived pretty late in the evening, close to their closing time, but the staff was very gracious about it and assured us it was no problem. In fact, if anything, our waiter was a little too friendly — one of those«Ah, bella signorina» types who can’t stop making bizarrely flirtatious jokey compliments. Which actually gets really annoying when you just want a refill of Diet Coke, frankly. The food was good, but overpriced — only a handful of items were under $ 20, which is not what you’d expect for a restaurant located next to a grocery store. They do have a fun mix-and-match customizable pasta section, although it gets confusing because several of the sauces involve extra charges. But the portions are good-sized, and they’re not stingy with the bread basket, which made me feel a bit better about the price of my meal. And OHMYGOD, the food took FOREVER to come, which is not a good thing when you’re starving. I’ll probably horrify the gourmands out there by saying this, but as far as I’m concerned, this place(whatever its name is) didn’t do anything that the Macaroni Grill doesn’t do quicker, cheaper, *and* with waiters who occasionally burst into song. But then, I secretly adore the Olive Garden’s salad and breadsticks, so you may want to take my advice with a grain of salt.
