Staff is nice. If you are looking for travel clothing, Scottevest, q zip, pick pocket proof clothing, RFID wallets, not your store, although orvis on line states they have these items. Trout fishing, yes. I’m going to REI.

It’s been said that one of my worst qualities is that I am an enabler. More specifically, I am a shopping enabler. If you go shopping with me I will not talk you out of anything, in fact I will actually suggest you buy more things. Just want to go and look at cars? Nope, take me with you and you will surely leave with one. I can’t help it, I just can’t help YOU say no. However… This has been a great way for me to see how the other half lives. I get to shop till my hearts contentment and experience high end stores without having buyers remorse. Last week I was with a friend visiting the Orvis store. I’ve visited before but I’ve never made any substantial purchases here. But I did today. Or rather, my friend Wayne did today. The interior is beautifully decorated; imagine stepping into a very high end man cave(lots of leather and polished wood). It feels like the kind of place you’d run into Hemingway or Jim Harrison drinking brown alcohol and telling stories. It’s clearly a store for the adventurer, the adventurer with a whole lot of scrilla(that’s money for you fogies). My friend was buying a new fly rod and reel and insisted that this is where he was going to buy it. Wayne likes to have the best gear. Wayne is a gear junkie. He can’t do a double haul cast to save his Pomeranian’s life(not joking about either) but he has better gear than anyone. This store has the gear, no doubt about that. We were helped by a very knowledgable employee, who couldn’t stop talking about his skillful casting and his overall amazingness which was enough to inspire a few eye rolls. But he was very nice and extremely knowledgable; he helped Wayne put together a nicely matched rod and reel. I of course gave him the thumbs up and a nod when it was time to ring up because I’m excited to get all his hand me downs. It all added up to a cool ‘G.’ Maybe I forgot to mention this but Orvis… It’s pretty high end(High end is a euphemism for expensive) but I will add that their gear is awesome and lasts forever. I love their clothing as well. It’s along the same lines as Cabellas or LL Bean but more stylish and built better. They are an outfitter for wherever your travels may take you. They have salt water/tropical fly fishing gear and small creek and river set ups. I liked their gear so much I almost spent some of my own money at Orvis. Now that’s saying a lot. A. Lot. All in all I enjoyed shopping at Orvis, albeit vicariously through my big spending, gear junkying, Pomeranian toting friend. Thumbs up Orvis.

I’ve come in twice now. There is NEVER anyone else in the store. The product line feels very dated to me, certainly conservative. Don’t come in looking for anything with bright colors because their hues tend to gravitate towards the bland — I mean neutral. Can’t just seem to bring myself to get enthused about Orvis.

Still enjoy this store. The men’s clothing at the moment have over all a nice array autumnal colors in very rich hues. We are always greeted and offered help and then left alone, just like I like it. Yes a nice store with nice things to buy.

This is a nice enough store. Decent enough clothes, although some of them are a bit more western style than I prefer. Customer service is so-so. Not going to get tons of assistance from the staff unless you seek them out. Prices are a bit on the high side, but its nice stuff and you get what you pay for.

Love this store. It has so many cool things if you are an outdoors person. The staff is always really helpful whenever I go in, and will even go the extra mile to tell customers where the sweet fishing spots are.
