This place has the best Agua Fresca(fruit water) hands down! Regardless of what flavor you get they’re all to die for. The best part is they are made of real fruit, not some crappy corn syrup bs like most other places. Not to mention you can mix flavors like cucumber and lime, or other combinations and it’s just delicious. My personal favorite is the strawberry and cream one. Aside from the agua Fresca they have some yummy ice cream flavors, and delicious real Mexican snacks. As a person who has lived in Mexico, there truly is no place that compares to the authentic Mexican snacks, but Paleteria Morelia gets pretty close. I highly recommend the duro preparado, it’s prepared similar to the ones in Mexico. It’s made with cabbage as opposed to romain salad, and it has avocado slices too! The only downside is the size of the place. It’s very small inside and there’s usually a high volume of people inside and gets crowded, but other then that it’s a perfect place to drop by and get a yummy treat on a hot day.

This place was already in my bookmark for long time but finally today I could try their chamango! I love chamango! Sometimes I make it myself. The place was a little place and you have to park on the street near by. I ordered the chamango and Elote /corn in a stick. When I saw the lady made the chamango I was pretty surprised because she used mango sorbet instead the real fresh mango. Then she sliced the real mango but it only 2 slices. The taste wasn’t good enough, it was just a sour chamoy and tajin seasoning with shaved ice and 2 sliced of mango & one tamarind candy. The chamango picture that I showed to her from one of Unilocaler picture was pretty different with mine. The Elote was over way too much butter! Didn’t eat it, way fattening with butter and cheese! Didn’t eat it, way fattening with butter and cheese! I won’t be back for sure, I like the chamango in Carson better than this because they use the real mango instead mango sorbet.

We are from out of town and since we had some time to kill we looked for a cold treat for our kids. There were two young women behind the counter and another customer besides us. The attendant that was taking our order was a little rude, she looked annoyed by our presence like it was our fault she had to work. There was 5 of us. After I tell her my first item she said(before she even opened the refrigerator) «and besides this what else do you want» she repeated that phrase about 7 times!!! I felt rushed and now I was annoyed with her attitude. We were staying here for 4 days and we would have been good clients if it wasn’t for the attendants lack of good customer service. Btw no paletas in this paleteria and the ice cream was a little soft.

From someone who lives in the area, I have frequented this«juice shop»(as I like to call it) multiple times, with never a bad experience. Being white, and completely inept at Spanish, I was nervous to go in the very first time, but was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of information the pleasant female owner offered to me, making me feel informed and welcome. Since, I have probably been in at least 50 times weather it’s for their amazing and sweet aqua frescas or simply a fresh coconut water(right out of the coconut, with a straw.) Friendly informed staff, great treats and drinks, and a whole wealth of authentic Mexican goodies I would have never had the chance to try before. Step outside your box, check this place out and I’m sure you will find something unique that you love!

Carne = meat in Spanish and a carniceria is a store that sells meat aka butcher shop. Pan = bread in Spanish, and a panaderia is a store that sells bread and baked goods aka baker. Paleta = is a Mexican popsicle and through my powers of deduction I would have assumed that a paleteria would be a store that sells paletas, but I was proven wrong last week when I walked in to Paleteria Morelia. My mission was to obtain paletas for an evening bbq with some food loving friends. I thought they’d be the perfect addition to the spread, so I went on over to the Paleteria to grab some. The patio out front is really cute with picnic tables, warm colors, and even a little thatched tiki hut to sit under. The store inside is small, with a large chalk board menu showing some of the extensive options they offer, and another big board with lots of pictures shows the rest. I expected to walk in and find these incredible Mexican popsicles made from fresh tropical fruits and juices, available in an unbelievable array of flavors and colors. Instead, what I found was an ice cream shop with a large selection of Mexican sweet treats and eats including dorilocos, elotes, chocobananas, and some amazing fruit desserts, but not a single paleta. Helado = ice cream and heladeria is a store that sells ice cream, at least according to Google Translate. I asked desperately for the popsicles, but there were absolutely none in the store. So after the sting subsided, I settled on some chocobananas, manguneadas, and chocolate covered strawberries rolled in coconut for the bbq, which everyone seemed to enjoy. I’ll have to come back and try some of the other items because that patio is too cool for school and I dig the vibe. That’s when I’m sure this will bump up to 4 stars! Question for the audience — Spanish is not my first language, so what does Paleteria mean?

This place is AWESOME! How is it possible that I had no idea it existed until this week. If you are in the market for a fruity or frozen treat, this place is not to be missed! A small tropical shack located on wells street, Paleteria Morelia offers up some fresh treats including juices, smoothies, ice cream, fresh and frozen fruits and much more. Some friends and I tried the frozen chocolate dipped bananas, frozen chocolate dipped strawberries, and yummy mango and tamarind ice cups. Is there much explanation that has to happen around a frozen banana, covered in chocolate and rolled in coconut or sprinkles? I mean really, just go get one for yourself — you won’t be disappointed. On my way out, I saw a woman order a tropical coconut dish which was an entire fresh coconut, with the coconut meat cut up, mixed with other fresh fruits and some yummy sauce, all served in the coconut shell. That will be my next treat when I return!

This is one of my most favorite places in midtown for ice cream and other Hispanic treats. Ice cream is just one dollar a scoop and boast a whole bunch of flavors. My favorite is the huckleberry flavor. They also have ice waters in a variety of flavors. I chose the strawberry lime flavor when I was there last and it was super refreshing. This is a fantastic place to get out of your comfort zone as far as desserts go and will be a regular stop whenever I am in Midtown.
