If you value your time and your money stay away from this business. I took my bike in to have some custom work and was provided a price and a timeline for the work to be completed. When the deadline came and went, I called the shop only to be informed it would take a little longer due to a part delay. The new deadline came and went and no call, so I called again and they asked for more time. When my bike was finally completed I went in to pick it up only to find out the cost was more than 50% HIGHER than what I was told. When I approached the owner on the cost he made a lot of excuses and made no offer to stand behind his original price. When I asked why I wasn’t notified the cost would be higher, it was more excuses. There were no options given to me except to pay more than twice what I was expecting or leave my bike at the shop. If you work in customer service and you make a mistake you should stand behind what you tell your customers and take responsibility for your mistake. If the cost is going to be higher, be responsible and call the customer before the work is completed to see if they still want to proceed with the job. You should also offer a solution in order to make the situation right. I ended up paying the full amount and leaving very angry about the entire ordeal. I wouldn’t trust my bike or my money with these people.

Best bike shop I’ve found in the Truckee Meadows area! Every one there is a Pro at what they do. Advanced or just getting started all are treated the same. The guys in the shop do a great job. The owners are terrific. Everybody always takes the time to listen to their customers.

Before making a new bike purchase from Peloton Bicycles Inc., or repair to a high end bike — check out google reviews and Unilocal. The good: got to test ride a lot of different makes and models of bikes, staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The bad: I ordered an 11 speed cannondale supersix ultegra bike and had the rear cassette and front chain rings customized to specific sizes. I had to pay to upgrade the rear dérailleur(no problem!) since the one that came standard on the bike would not work. Initially things were good. The first day i got home i noticed the front crank said«10 speed» on the outside — panicked, I called the shop and was told that I shouldn’t worry, they had taken this crank from a 10 speed bike they had in stock, but it would work fine with my 11 speed bike. I brought my bike back to the shop 2 or 3 times in the first 2 months to have cables tightened, loose headsets tightened(all normal with new bike) after riding for more time(1000 miles) I was starting to experience my chain jamming up as I would shift between front rings and started noticing a constant rubbing noise. Again I didn’t think anything of this, just needed to make some front dérailleur adjustments. Adjustments didn’t help, and it wasn’t until I looked more closely at the chainrings til I discovered the real issue. Stamped on the small chainring was«10 speed only». I called the shop, told them the issue, and made an appointment to get this problem fixed. When I returned to pick up my bike later that day, I was told by the mechanic that the store owner, Brian, had shaved off the pick up pins on the large chainring — solving my jamming chain and rubbing problems. Wait… what??? instead of taking off the 10 speed chainring and replacing it with an 11 speed chainring, he «fixed«it by grinding off parts of the large chainring that was meant to make shifting between the two rings smooth. This«fix» was performed without so much as a quick call to me to explain what they were about to do and ask my approval. He wasn’t there to talk to when I picked it up but I let the mechanic know that I was not satisfied at all. Driving home to Truckee I was furious that the shop would have made this drastic decision without calling me first, 20 days away from an upcoming ironman event that I am participating in. When i unloaded my bike from my car, i noticed a big chip in the paint right next to the front crank arm which was not there that morning. I talked to Brian later that day, who tried to tell me that the chainring on my bike is compatible with 11 speed system and denied that the inner ring said«10 speed only«. He claimed it said«10 speed«and that 10 speed parts often work fine on 11 speed bikes, and that he’s never had an issue with this in the past. He talked in circles to me for a while claiming that because I had ridden 1000+ miles on the bike, that I had used the chainrings and he could no longer take them back. Also he denied causing the chip, but promised to use some touch up paint next time i brought my bike in to make it look«good as new«. At this point, i had emailed a Cannondale service rep to ask if the«10 speed only«chainring was compatible with 11 speed bike — his response«We recommend using only components that are stated as compatible with one another. That said, I would suggest getting in contact with your shop to discuss getting some 11 speed rings to put on your bike. They can call us directly if they have any technical questions regarding your bike.» Never once did Brian just take ownership of this mistake, but denied it. I paid for a brand new bike with brand new components — not expecting to have parts stripped from other bikes they had in stock with disregard to 10⁄11 speed compatibility. His solution — I pay cost for 2 new chainrings(since they shaved off the pickup pins, I now needed a large ring too!!!). Fine, I agreed — if this was the only way to get my bike back to normal before race day. He promised to give me a call with estimated time to get parts. I never heard back. I called, he was helping a customer, so I left a message for him to call be back. 2 days later, no call. I regret buying my bike from Peloton bicycles Inc. and would tell others to think twice before making a large purchase here. Sadly it sounds like many other customers got the same kind of treatment from Brian as I did(Google reviews).

I live in Truckee but drive down to Peloton for bike service because Brian and his crew are top notch. I’ve had my Cannondale Tri Bike in a few times for tune ups and each they make my bike faster and faster. These guys are professionals and can quickly diagnosis any bike issue.

I bought my bike here(old location) about 6 months ago. They were very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to buy a great product from local business.
