After admiring everyones gorgeous fall photos over the last few years I convinced the wife to take fall photos this year. I picked up a living social deal for Pete and set up the appointment for the shoot back in September for the first weekend in November. If you really want a fall photo shoot during prime season it needs to be scheduled over the summer. Good to know from now on! Pete and I had a pre shoot meeting at his studio/house. We discussed what I was looking for and we talked coordinated clothing. I am not a matchy matchy person so I knew right off the bat we weren’t doing the matching white shirts with denim pants look. I showed him three outfit combinations I had already put together for my wife and I. He agreed that all three choices looked good and left the decision up to me. I appreciated his input. I haven’t had a thorough pre meeting with any photographer I’ve worked with over the last few years so this was entirely new for me. Pete is truly a full service photographer, those are extremely rare these days! The day before the shoot it was raining and threatening to snow, typical Reno weather for the first week of November. I was nervous since our photos were going to be taken outside. We stayed in touch and I was thrilled when it calmed down the following morning for our photos. I got my hair done for the photos and should have used a bit more hairspray because it turned out to be pretty windy. We had chosen a local park and met Pete down there. I prefer photos taken outside as opposed to studio shots. He took both digital and film photos which I loved. When was the last time you used film? Can’t remember? Yea, I love the nostalgia of film and the fact that he still uses it regularly is so unique! He was extremely detail oriented and would often fix our hair/clothes to make sure everything looked perfect before taking the photo. I loved that he posed us to make sure we looked as flattering as possible. I don’t know about you but I definitely appreciate help looking my best in photos! The shoot took about an hour in total and we were so excited that it has snowed that morning because the dusting made the mountains gorgeous. Pete took about 6 weeks to edit the photos and we set up a meeting before Christmas to look at them at his studio. He set up the slide show and it shuffled thru all of the pictures he took. Then came the hard part, we had to narrow down all of those photos to the 4 we were able to get using the living social deal. He patiently went thru all of the photos with us several more times until we were able to get it narrowed down to 10 photos. He printed out contact sheets of those photos for us to take home with us to help make our decision. I got back to him about a month later with our final decision. He usually offers the photos as a mounted 8×10 but I didn’t need four of those so he was nice enough to offer three of them as digital images and one as a mounted image. I love that he customized the package to suit our needs. The mounted image and digital images are so bright, vibrant, and gorgeous. My wife and I look our very best and we are thrilled with the images. We really appreciated all of Pete’s help to make these photographs some of our absolute favorites we’ve ever taken together!
