Just for clarification, I didn’t actually stay here, but went in on a couple of occasions to check weekly and monthly rates, as the place has huge banners and signs boasting such rentals hanging all over the place, in addition to a glowing electronic marquee sign out front that touts such lies as «Remodeled Rooms! Best Value Downtown!» It used to be a Knights Inn, so I figured that maybe it might be a step up or two from the other random motor lodges downtown. Was I ever wrong. The swimming pool that once existed was cemented over, and they wouldn’t even let me inspect a room before forking out a whopping $ 735 monthly rental fee, in addition to a $ 250 non-refundable pet deposit per stay. Mind you, the monthly rental fee alone is higher than the rental rates on most bonafide one bedroom apartment complexes in the South Reno area, which is saying a lot. Additional signs in the lobby posted after dark(which was actually rather nice,) reading«See the manager in Room 289 if there’s any trouble,» and«Absolutely no refunds given,» were nothing but red flags. It’s three levels over a covered car park, so there’s no actual ground floor. Gotta admit though, based on the amount of loiterers hanging about, I’m sure that top floor provides some awesome views of all the riff-raff. Steer clear.
