This is my go to sushi because it is close, consistent and usually the service is good. Sit at the counter and you can be sure the sushi continues to come when you are ready for it. I adore the standards like upside down shrimp, the Las Vegas and various nigiri. My only complaint occurred the last time we were here. We are a family of four and it took a long time to get the waitresses attention and then she didn’t check back in with us, so we had to flag people down twice. The price for AYCE is 15.99 which is reasonable and we never leave hungry. They also have no problem with small changes to the rolls, as only my husband likes the ubiquitous avocado. We will continue to come back.

Sushi here is good. Best is the Rock n’ Roll roll with seared salmon, Has a lovely smoky flavor(dinner menu).Mussels are not the best I’ve had, I prefer the ones at Sushi Pier I. Service is good, plenty of space, doesn’t feel over crowded. Lunch is 15.95 and dinner is 21.95

There are a lot of tasty appetizers to choose from. I normally don’t go for many appetizers with AYCE sushi, but for $ 15.99 with unlimited sake(and beer on Mondays) you just can’t pass it up! I love going here for late lunch with my friends because of the unlimited booze and munchies. Sushi Rose has definitely stepped up their game with their rolls. There’s a nice variety, and the rolls aren’t just filled with a crab salad like most cheap sushi joints. The Chao is my new favorite. I love anything with salmon and lemon. Kudos to our server, Riley, for recommending it! He was very helpful and attentive during my visit.

Our new favorite Sushi Spot in Reno. Best prices, sushi has been quality and consistent. Drink specials are always going to get something free. Monday to Thursday free beer or sake. Checkin with Unilocal and get a free beer or sake any night. The Flower Long roll is a must try.

This place is pigs serving pigs… sushi a mess. Luke warm like the saki. Last time I went some jerk in a tank top and baseball cap sat down next to me and ordered 5 yes 5 items. so guess what there he was AGAINTODAY… If eating junk next to families bringing all their kids in to eat off their plates is your thing then THISISYOURPLACE… it is no better than slop and the clientele is gross… sushi chef produces ugly SLOP. AND I AMBEING — – nice — —

Good all you can eat sushi for a good price. Free all you can drink sake, and on certain nights, free beer. I’ve had plenty of their rolls, and lots of nigiri, and all were good. The service is not amazing, but not terrible either. I’ve only ever sat at the bar, which makes for a weird mix of ordering sushi from the cooks(is that what you call them?) and ordering anything else, drinks, dessert, etc from the waiters. It works, but you probably get noticed less than if you were at a table. I’ll have to try that next time I go in. But main point: good sushi, good price!

This is my all time favorite sushi place in Reno. The upside down shrimp, the rock and roll, the Donald duck, and of course the awesome service. I haven’t been disappointed here yet.

This is sushi for philistines, all sauce and fried things. The spicy tuna is so spicy you won’t taste the tuna at all. Flavorful and heavy, like pub food. We got nigiri as a palette cleanser, I don’t think there was any vinegar in the rice at all(which is what sushi means). It was good, but not what I expected. Like when you invite a couple friends over for a quiet kickback and it turns into a rager. Fun in an overestimating kind of way.

This place is awesome. It’s my top 2 – 3 places in town. Best muscles and salmon skin handrolls in town. And they have the best price dinner in town. Free beer and saki on Mondays. Dropthemic#

There’s nothing like mondays! Sushi/Sake, all you can drink beer and an incredible staff. The minute you walk in, you are entrenched in beauty beyond belief. The sushi is fresh, and the brew is cold. It’s a little taste of Reno, the biggest little city :)

Food was good for what you pay and is one business that gives you free birthday all you can eat with your rewards card and of course valid ID. Do call ahead for the full disclosure. Our server a younger boy with dark brown hair never introduced himself so it struck me as odd. My first impression was to get up and leave, my sister and I had filled out our card for our food and maybe our server thought he was being cute, but slapped off our table, but then picked it back up and said just kidding? Do you do that with all your guests? I work in the service industry and that is a no no! You almost lost your tip for the night and another star. I will hand it to him that he was efficient so he sort of redeemed himself. I will say, food came up quickly so the one sheet was more plentiful between the two of us. I will say, The Rock N Roll is disgusting and I ask the business to rethink that one. Everything else we tried was pretty good, besides the edamame and the Rock N’ Roll. Edamame had excess water and left the pods a little slimy. :(My favorite was the Jason hand roll and a long cooked roll that was spicy and had cream cheese. Of course when I do A.Y.C.E. I have to have my salmon skin the bacon of the sea, so I had to have one and it was just right that, so I opted out for dessert. I will be returning and hopefully give more stars.

For the past two years I came here on my birthday with a group of 6 – 8 people after hearing they had free birthday sushi. Last year was awful enough to make me not want to come back this year, but my family and I decided to give them one more shot. The service was awful. We were met by unfriendly staff who seemed put out by our presence. They sat us in a rush, and then walked away and left us with no menus, utensils, or order sheets for over 20 minutes. when I got up to ask about these things, dude rolled his eyes. Next was the table fiasco. Six of us squashed in to one table meant for 2 – 4. We knocked elbows but we made do. A different server came and added an empty table to our party, we spread out and thanked him graciously. That is until 30 seconds later when the original server began arguing loudly about server #2 giving up a second table, when we «didn’t even have a reservation» shouting at him an arm’s length away from me. Awesome. The same guy grabbed my boyfriend’s drink to refill it… But never came back. On to the food. I judge sushi spots pretty heavily based on the quality of their mussels, and they failed horribly. They were cold and dried out. I should have walked away then. But we stayed and my party of six ordered about 12 rolls. They took a long time to come out, which is understandable. But their condition was not. They were falling apart. Some were uncomfortably warm. Some of them were things we hadn’t ordered. some of what we ordered never came. Then we waited with a table full of empty plates for half an hour until we finally had to find someone to get our check. To sum it up, not a single person working there seemed to care about the experience.

This is our go to spot when it comes to sushi. In part because of location. But their prices are amazing, easily the biggest bang for your buck. And you get free sushi on your birthday! Gillian is an amazing server. Oh! Just don’t go on Mondays… especially in the evening… you’ll be overrun by college students taking advantage of the free beer and sake. Its a madhouse. Even the staff will suggest not to bring your kids on Monday night’s(thank goodness he told us before we made the mistake ourselves… he’s awesome too, but I never got his name!)

If this place was in the Bay Area, I would have given it a 2 star. But since it is in Reno where good sushi is rare, I will give it 3 stars. Not to mention, our whole group that went were all ravenous. The pricing itself is already a treat — $ 15 for lunch all you can eat and $ 24(?) for ayce dinner. The selection is decent, around 20 different rolls and 15 various nigiris along with appetizers. Dessert is also included with the meal. I would not come back here again unless I was in the area.

A good first impression goes a long way. Our search for a new regular sushi place led us to Sushi Rose on a Monday night. We didn’t realize at the time that they served free beer on Mondays, but when we pulled in to an overflowing parking lot, we figured it was a busy night. As we pushed into the crowded dining room, a friendly server approached us immediately to let us know: «Monday is our busiest night, so unfortunately there is going to be a bit of a wait.» We appreciated being warned in advance, and agreed to wait it out on the nearby seats. Our wait turned out to be only about 15 minutes, during which the server/host checked up on us two times. Already, Sushi Rose impressed me with the professional and friendly attitude with which they handled a big crowd. CERTAINOTHER sushi restaurants in Reno could learn a thing or two from them.(*cough*HIROBA!*cough*) We were soon seated comfortably at the bar, and the first thing I did was check the menu to see what the age limit is for kids’ pricing. I was delighted to discover that, not only is the age cut-off for the kids’ menu a generous 11 years, but the price for kids’ AYCE dinner is only $ 12.95! THANKYOU, Sushi Rose, for not trying to price-gouge families by forcing them to pay adult prices for their young children! My nine-year-old was happily slurping down her miso while I sipped my free beer and calculated that we were paying almost HALF of what we would pay to order her the same food at CERTAINOTHER sushi restaurants in Reno.(*cough*SUSHIPIER!*cough*) One other factor contributed to my stellar mood, and that was the overall friendly and laid-back atmosphere around me. We are not looking for a fancy sushi experience; I just want a little sushi bar to sit at, a crowded room to keep things lively, and a friendly sushi chef to keep it coming. I got all of those things at Sushi Rose. I’m sure the free-flowing beer and Monday-Night Football had a lot to do with it, but the crowd here imbued the whole place with a happy, upbeat vibe. And the sushi? Well, it was good. There was nothing on the menu that really blew our minds, but everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. For having one of the lowest AYCE prices in town, and free beer on top of that, Sushi Rose is a real winner. There may be fancier, fresher, better formed sushi at other places, but Sushi Rose gave me the nicest overall experience I’ve had with AYCE sushi in a long time. We will definitely be back.

Another visit to Sushi Rose! Tonight my boyfriend & I were craving sushi and I had enough stamps between my 3 Sushi Rose punch cards to get half off sushi for one of us so we decided to go! We had yet to go on a Friday night and it was crazy busy, we only waited about 15 minutes before we were seated though which was nice! The wait for our sushi was a little longer but our waiter was super nice and let us know they brought on another sushi chef to help make orders come out faster. We were hungry but didn’t really mind! Once we got our rolls we immediately dug in and like always each one was AMAZING. Very fresh and flavorful cut into perfect bite sized pieces. We did find plastic wrap on one of our rolls but the sushi chef himself personally came to our table to apologize, and explained they use plastic wrap while making the rolls. Although we weren’t mad about it at all he was so friendly and sincere which we appreciated. We’ll definitely be going back! They have awesome deals, punch cards and free sushi on birthdays.

Sushi Rose was an overall 4.5 star rating. The food was great! The atmosphere was average. The servers were very nice but seemed very spread thin with the amount of people. The sushi chef was accommodating and willing to try new twists to existing rolls. Danielle and I both had the Wednesday, All You Can Eat special, that included all the sushi you can eat plus all you can drink sake. We didn’t take advantage of the all you can drink sake, however, we did eat a ton of sushi. The sushi rolls were perfect size and the chef kept the rolls coming without hesitation to give us more. It is hard to filter out the good and bad sushi restaurants in Reno since there are so many to choose. I was shocked that I never heard of Sushi Rose. The roll I enjoyed the most was the R&B long roll with seared tuna and scollops. MUSTTRY! I will definite go back to Sushi Rose!
