This is an unusual review: I was not satisfied with the engine I received from West Coast. Let me start by saying West Coast is not the builder, they use a third party in Washington State to actually build the engine to their specs. That being said, I received a motor which was not what I ordered. I sent photos, West Coast apologized, and arranged for the return to Washington. The second try was better, but I still was not happy. I expected a difficult time returning this, because I didn’t have a specific problem, I just wasn’t happy with the engine. I braced for a long fight, called West Coast, and Brady told me he’s sorry I wasn’t happy, send it back for a full refund. That was it, I sent it back for a full refund. I think the quality control issues with the vendor have been dealt with, and based on the outstanding customer service, I will do business with them the next time I’m in the market. If you deal with Brady, you’re in good hands. He is a man of his word, and will do whatever it takes to make sure you’re satisfied. In the end, it’s how a business handles the unhappy customer that sets it apart from the rest

Their horsepower numbers are grossly inflated. I bought a turn key 383 stroker a couple years ago and had a mixed experience. The engine was supposed to produce 450hp. I even paid extra to have them dyno it and provide a dyno sheet. When i had it dynoed myself it produced an honest 400hp which left me disappointed because that’s not what I thought I was buying. Besides that I did have an issue with the engine shortly after installation which they fixed at no cost to me except shipping which expensive because I’m in Maryland and their shop is in Spokane, Washington. Not to mention i had to pay my mechanic to remove it and install it again once it was fixed. Brady seems like a good guy when you talk to him on the phone and email but in the end the product didn’t deliver what he said it would. He referred me to speak directly with the engine builder who offered to take a look at the engine to figure out why it’s not producing what it should but I wasn’t willing to pay for labor to remove and replace it a third time or for shipping again. I decided to take the loss. The car is still faster than with the stock engine but beware that the horsepower numbers they advertise are way over inflated.

Stay away… unless you don’t mind paying for their mistakes! They sent me an engine with four of six pistons too small for the bore, then tried to tell me it was something I did in the installation process; AND, they wouldn’t compensate me for any extra expenditures(since I had to install the engine twice). So, beware… West Coast Engines, HighTech Eng & Motor Works are all in cahoots.

I ordered a stage 3383 from Brady. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. The price is unbeatable as well as the customer survive. I strongly recommend them!
